Bell does make great helmets. Unfortunately I am one of those people with the dreaded “long oval” heads. Only a few brands offer a fit for horse head riders like me. Great job on the review of this helmet tho. Quality job as usual Staci. Thanks and be safe.
I also just got the Bell Eliminator this year. It is a great summer helmet. I also love the high-viz shield they sell for it, which is perfect for summer riding. The high-viz shield is very similar to ski goggles.
@ I did not experience any buffeting. I ride a Honda ST 1300 with an adjustable windshield. So, a new windshield could help. My other helmet is a Nolan, but I prefer the Bell.
I used to wear only half helmets due to heat and weight, until I bought my Bell Eliminator. It is light weight (even in XL), and super comfortable so I wear it more than any other helmet now!
@@ridetofood i hate wasting $$$ lol going to try and sell this AGV its brand new still in the box - still using my old Fulmer full face and Bell half shell they are tried and true for years
I got a BELL Star DLX MIPS a few years ago and love it. I dont think the Eliminator would be a great option for me in the northeast, mainly due to the cold and frequent rain. But, given that i want to stretch out the life of my Bell Star and that summers here have been getting crazy hot.. i may look into this for just the hottest months! Thanks for the review.
I love my Bell Eliminator helmet, I originally got it for use in summer, but I have started using it though winter too, only in a huge downpour did I notice rain coming in the top vents, I love the air flow of it.
Great review. I have found that 3/4 and fullface HJC helmets fit me better than any Bell helmet BUT Bell is the benchmark for helmets. Wind noise doesn't bother me as I take out my hearing aids when I ride. 😉
haha, agreed. Some people are okay with that but it IRKS me since i'm used to being able to easily flip my shield up when I come to a stop / am cruising at slow speeds
I've been wearing bell helmets since the RS1 series (actually wrecked in my RS1 and it saved my a$$). I rock the Race Star DLX now and will likely never switch off of Bell.
Great review. Very informative and concise. Btw where is the footage at 9:34? Riding thru that rock on a great surface looks amazing. Thanks for the vid 👍
It’s not like a cold wind hitting your head or a slight breeze to your noggin hahaha but yes it does allow better airflow into the top of the helmet! If I lived in a place like Arizona or maybe a southern state where it’s hot and humid often, this would be a solid helmet choice!
Nice video of the helmet was just looking for a review of this model because I just bought one (with the awesome Steve McQueen Design) blind because it was only 105€ (instead of 350€!) from fc-moto (size S still available) ! Never owned a Bell helmet, hopefully it fits my head (otherwise i need to change the inlets from XL to L). Looking forward to it. :)
It's not my favorite helmet, but also not my least favorite lol. Some people really love that helmet, though! I felt like the field of view was off and it was noticeably heavier than my race star. Modulars just aren't really my thing when it comes down to it. I'd rather just wear a proper full face.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this helmet. As someone who lives in the Texas Hill Country, heat is an issue nearly year round. I have several questions. 1) When it does rain, does the water come in and run down your face or does it just leak in and get your head wet? I can deal with a wet head, but running down my face and into my eyes would be an issue. I've read another review that indicated the rain shield does come with the helmet. 2) What do you do with your helmets when you retire them? Do you base your decision on mileage or time or both? It would be interesting if helmet companies designed a helmet where the protection is replaceable, but I don't know anything about how that would work. Anyway, take care and thanks again.
1) I've never been blinded by rain drops! Yes, a clear rain shield came in the box with mine. Good to know that is a standard feature now. It wasn't a standard feature when I got my first one many years ago. 2) I put them on my helmet wall and keep them as decoration. Replacements...it all just depends. mileage and time aren't enough factors to consider. that's why I go off the 2-3 year rule for myself lol
The shield lock is an ECE 22.06 thing, I'm not entirely certain why it increases safety, it certainly distracts trying to get the thing open while riding.
I have the limited run all Chrome Bell Eliminator and LOVE that thing! The most comfortable helmet, good quality build, plenty of air flow (I would know...I'm bald and can literally feel the air on my bald ass head lol) 100% recommend!
Great video. Thank you very well, done. Try baking soda on your wash mit to remove bugs .put it on, let it dry, then wash your bike . The baking soda neutralize the asid in bugs .learned that from a body shop . Thanks again cheers to ya.
Do you ever wear ear plugs when riding? All the old timers say it prevents general fatigue during long mile days. Also, my current helmet is noisy AF and I’m desperately searching for a replacement
Sometimes I do but no, not really. I worked in a music venue and stood next to amplifiers without earplugs for entirely too many days and nights in my teens and early 20s. I 100% do not have the best hearing. 😂
I have considered this helmet but Revzilla doesn't have it as a plain color. I like to try my helmets on at Cycle Gear and they don't seem to have this one available. I am waiting for when Cycle Gear/Revzilla has it.
@@ridetofood thanks for pointing out the link. I found it . I think it peculiar that it is not on the Revzilla website. I found the white one like you got when using the link, now I just need to wait until they have it in my size. XS
*Spicy topics... In the context of this platform, I don't think that word means what you think it means. I'm buying a Bell Moto III because I ride a scrambler and wear skinny jeans. However, I think this helmet is pretty rad too.
Can you show the helmet with peak visor+goggles? its the way would like to use Im interested into Eliminator, have my 2x qualfiers for few years with transition shield, This one looks badass.
holy smokes, you are a gifted speaker*. e-mail this video to Revzilla for a product presenter position. *plus a lot more attractive than Spurge and Zak lol.😅

What about buffeting I got a better windshield this Summer that helped and wasted money on an agv helmet any thoughts
@ I did not experience any buffeting. I ride a Honda ST 1300 with an adjustable windshield. So, a new windshield could help. My other helmet is a Nolan, but I prefer the Bell.
@@opsecalpha thx yeah my new windshield was a major improvement overall
Bell helmets is so stand up they would give the kids derby team free helmets. ❤ Bell helmets.
I love when folks I respect on TH-cam review items I am considering purchasing. Peace from Connecticut.

Darn wish I had known this before I wasted money on an agv helmet I never wear the buffeting in that thing is terrible
You can always buy another helmet 👍

So true on the visor lock. I never lock mine down because it’s impossible to get back up. It almost pulls the helmet off my head.
haha, agreed. Some people are okay with that but it IRKS me since i'm used to being able to easily flip my shield up when I come to a stop / am cruising at slow speeds
I own two Bell Eliminator helmets, best helmet I have owned in a long time. The best thing I like is the Pro vision shield does not fog up.
Nice!!! Yeah I do enjoy that feature as well lol!
Nice video keep up the great work Ride to Food
Appreciate ya! 🤘
Great review and video. I am looking for a new helmet so will definitely consider buying the helmet. Thanks!

Awesome! Yeah, I love my Race Star as well. Definitely my favorite helmet out of the whole lineup if I could only choose one to rule them all!
As always a great video. Do you have any issues with Fogging up?
Nope! Maybe if I'm stuck at a stop light, its a little chilly out, and I'm breathing pretty hard lol but while moving? no, never.

Colorado national monument!
@ thank you 🥰. Awesome.
You make that helmet look even better of what already is.
thanks I enjoy when it hides my face lmfao
Ha ha ha ha. Good one
my old reading glasses were pro tint ,that would be the best long ride shield .
indeed!

Its really nice it comes with a shield to cover those holes.
Correct
Love my past bell helmets. What's your thoughts on the modular SRT? I believe you also used.

@@marktaylor8659 No prob!!!
I have a Bell Eliminator in matte Black and love it! Did you notice that white is cooler?
It definitely felt cooler on those long days through heatwaves, but hard to say for certain since it ventilates so well!
Thanks for the good video 👍👍
Great review, do you get a lot of fogging of the visor during cold or rainy days. Using anti-fogging agents never seem to work for me.🤔
Nope! Bell's shields all come with anti-fog properties. Only time I might have an issue is when I'm stopped at a light and its humid/very cold out.
The shield lock is an ECE 22.06 thing, I'm not entirely certain why it increases safety, it certainly distracts trying to get the thing open while riding.

What happened to your Pan America? You don't list it in your garage
