OKC was my stomping ground until a couple years ago. Arbuckle Mountain pies are fantastic, especially the peach. Seaba Station is a great destination for a day ride from the city, and going further to Stroud and having a schnitzel at the Rock Cafe makes it even better.
OKC’s food scene is incredible, and the thing I miss the most about living there. Not enough to go back, but still 😅

I've never had Arbuckles Fried Pies in the 21 years I've lived in Oklahoma. Changed that today! Sitting here eating a cherry and a peanut butter chocolate as a type this! Worth the trip!

Oklahoma has always been one of my favorite states actually. Definitely underrated. When I drove over the road before I retired I used to have several dealership customers in Tulsa and OK City that I delivered autos to. My very favorite breakfast joint is a little place across the street from the casino at the first exit on 40 when coming into the state from Ft Smith, Ark. I can't remember the name of it.
Stay safe out there and enjoy.

Nice. I’m a native Okie, still living in the Tulsa area but originally from Tahlequah, the capital city of the Cherokee Nation of which I’m a citizen. I ride a 21 Low Rider S myself. Love my bike. I really need to put more miles on it, but I lost my youngest son Joshua not long after getting my bike, and I went through a loooong period of not riding, or doing anything else. A really dark time. Anyway, I’m feeling better and ready to get back on the bike. Nice to see Oklahoma getting some love!

I really like Best Western in general too. We stayed at a couple on our way back from Deadwood/BRO and the one in Idaho Falls (Driftwood Inn) was one of the nicest I've ever stayed in. The person at the front desk in Ontario, Oregon made a point to offer for us to park our bikes right up front. I've stayed at a BW in Klamath Falls, OR that I was also really impressed with for the price. It was nice to meet you at BRO! ~ Carrie

I am almost 75 and have been living in Oklahoma since 1962 and started riding in 1963. Old 66 is an amazing ride. I have lived in Tuls sice 1977 and befoe that 5 years in OKC. Before that, I lived in one of the smaller cities in Eastern, Oklaoma. I would recommend riding eastern Oklahoma to anybody. It is beautiful. It is known as Green Country. It is a completely different look than the central part of the state and the panhandle. You literally could ride for a week in the northeastern part of the state. In Cherokee County, you will find the Cookson Hills, an area known for the hide outs of many depression era criminals includin Pretty Boy Floyd. If you want to miss the heat and the chance of severe wearther, late September-October is perfect. There is also a world class ride you should make that runs from Talihina, Oklahoma to Mena, Arkansas. It is named the Talimena Drive. It is breathtaking in the fall. If you leave from Tulsa expect a nice breakfast in Okmulgee or Henryetta and lunch at the Queen Wilimena Lodge. I know I spelled that wrong. I can talk about riding the area a lot more than people are willing to listen. Put it on your bucket list.

I really enjoyed this video, you showed us some great places to investigate that would normally get overlooked by most travellers. I love the fact you are wearing proper protective clothing when you ride, I can't tell you how many people I see riding in Tshirts and shorts without a helmet, Sturgis seems to be ground zero for this type of thing. I have unfortunately seen first had the results of people coming off their bike with no protection and it isn't pretty. Leathers and a helmet have saved me in the past so I never get on a bike without them. Here in the UK we have a saying that it's not if you have an accident but just a case of when you have an accident so always protect yourself..... Lecture finished. 😉 twist the wrist.
