His capital Karnasuvarna was known as the city of gold. The Buddhist texts all alignining with their benefactor Harsha had tried to malign Shashank. The great king , a devout Shaiva,died at 42 after a brief illnes- a fever that lasted 5 days. He was succeded by his son- the 18 yr old Manab who was killed and overthrown later. Only then Harsha could extend his empire in Bengal.
The seal is not traceable at present and it is argued that attributing the seal to Shashanka was a mistake on the part of Fleet or Beglar. For more details, read the page 88-89 of The World of Skandapurana by Hans T Bakker.

@@Lmao69Nope. Bangabda is hizri Calender modified solar edition. Akbar modified hizri Calender of Arabs which were lunar Calender and made it into a solar one so that tax collection becomes easy. As hizri has 10 less days per year, Bengali year is little lesser than hizri one

Gaud Kingdom was defeated by Tripura Kingdom 1433 years ago. After which Tripura King Himti Pha create the Tripuri Calendar to remember its Victory. Three years later Bengali Calendar was founded.

He was a murderor and literally the backstabber typical of non aryanic dark skinned people of India and the world over and they were abundant in Bengal those times till the Persian and British incursion in future, as original aryanic settlers of janapadas and mahajanapadas had already lost their Indo-European characteristics due to intermixing with earlier settlers of India, loss of connection with central asia and rise of Tibeto-burman dominated Buddhism.
