    Thank you for the update and very glad that it is "the best of the worst" report. And Thank You for pushing at the end the idea of mental mindfulness for everyone to practice (and I know I am someone who needs to be better about it). We know you have a fight Ed, but we know you can fight and will fight and we will continue to pray for you

      Yes! A good and stable outlook can help with many heath conditions, and that is researched truth! We know there will be bad days and moments, but we maintain resources to help with that. And that’s the goal to face this head on!! 😊

    So glad you were able to catch the tumor early and get treatment started so early! Your positive attitudes throughout this whole experience have been beyond inspiring. Sending lots of love for continued recovery and a life time of treatment victories!

    • @TheTravelingHusbands

      Thank you! Ed is fortunate that his “bad” tumor has many, many good aspects and indicators. That’s why he is also so interested in being part of a study, if it is possible. Ed has always been that scientific-minded individual.

    My mother always said a positive attitude and a smile on your face contributes to your overall Heath and well being. Love seeing that smile on your face, Ed!! Hope to see your next vlog from Epcot! You need to do some dining around the world!

      Attitude is so important! And we will get back to the parks soon. Ed is still getting used to sensory things making him tired quickly, so Disney parks will be a true test of that. Lol

    Astro-cytoma sounds very Spacey-celestial like you’d have to be an Astronaut to get one.
    I’m amazed to see you shake your head and not complain about rattling your brain around!

    • @TheTravelingHusbands
      @TheTravelingHusbands  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha! Astrocyte is the type of brain cell that turned to cancer in Ed’s case. As for the rattling, Ed could hear the fluid moving and stabilizing inside his head during the first few days. He said it was sooooo weird!

    Guys, I’m sorry to hear that you are having to live between certainty and uncertainty. Like you said, “it’s not good news, it’s not bad news”. So much to process. Thankfully, you are together and have friends and a community that supports you as you experience this new part of your life story. Sending strength for the long haul. As far as the emotional piece to all of this (living with a cancer diagnosis, and being a caregiver and partner), I hope. hope. hope! you have good therapists or support groups to help. (I’m a therapist, so, I’m a huge advocate for emotional self-care. ) If there’s anyway I can help, please reach out. Sounds like you’ve got lots of support, but, JIK put me in your back pocket if need be. 💪💕

      Thank you so much!! 😊 Mental health is significant to both of us in our childhood and as adults. We’ve both mentioned our mothers before, and battles with mental health. We know the value of a wide support network of professionals. Fortunately Moffitt Cancer Center connected us with resources that also extend beyond just mental health professionals. Jason has been connected with someone who has been a caregiver for the spouse with brain cancer, so she can share the story of their adventure. And Ed will be paired similarly. This is just the beginning of what is available to both of us. There are GREAT resources available for the long haul, as long as you are open to receive them (which we all should be). Nobody needs to fight alone.

    Thank you for the updates and for sharing your journey with us.. Ed, I had 13 staples in my scalp once and it hurt like hell getting them removed! You are both inspiring with your optimism and honestly.

    Thank you for all of these updates. A good friend was stage 4 breast cancer and I swear it was her attitude and positivity that got her through chemo and remaining cancer free for going on 15 years.
    ❤️❤️

    • @TheTravelingHusbands
      @TheTravelingHusbands  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s amazing!! We used to look at stages/grades as how “bad” it is. That’s still true today, but the potential of a good fight is so much more significant. Technology, research, and people opening themselves to participating in studies has made all of that difference today! Glad to hear your friend is doing well 15 years out! 😊

    My OT husband continues to be impressed with how great Ed looks and sounds! I showed him the video and his eyebrows went up and he said “wow! Color is good! Language is flowing and confident! He looks and sounds great! Super Healer!!!” 😂 high praise from the analytic mind of a Jason! There is no expiration date stamped on our feet. You are young and strong and you have great husband (A Jason no less!!) who is committed and LOVES you! So much love to you both. Amazing human beings!!! Prayers continue daily!!! ❤️❤️❤️

    My 73 year old neighbor has had cancer for over 20 years. At this point she calls it a chronic condition. I say this to hopefully give you hope. It has not always been good or easy but shes still shes still moving strong. You both are amazing. Much love to you both.

    I'm glad to hear things are going as well as could be under the circumstances. Good to see some smiles! Keeping you both in my thoughts as I go in to have my own lump/swelling looked at today. (Trying hard not to freak out about it. What will be will be)
    Next update from Galaxy's Edge?

    • @TheTravelingHusbands
      @TheTravelingHusbands  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That’s a great location suggestion! Ed really wants to get back there soon.
      And yes, get that lump checked. Being oblivious has certain benefits, but not when you can have an impact in fighting something. Ed learns that more every day.

      @@TheTravelingHusbands Dr seemed to think it's just lipodema. (Fatty tissue) Have script for ultrasound and referral for surgeon if that's what it turns out to be. Fingers crossed.

    Statistics are such crap. Science and technology change literally everyday. My grandma was diagnosed exactly a year ago and is on a medication that didnt exist this time last year. It was really interesting to learn brain cancers aren't staged. So good to see you guys smiling and making the best of a bad situation!

    • @TheTravelingHusbands
      @TheTravelingHusbands  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly!! Technology and research do change so fast. And Ed hopes to be a part of that development and progress to. We hope your grandmother is doing well. 😊

    I’m someone who argues the point of something (like your very first ct co-pay). Something made you give up the argument and not leave out of principle. Thank god for that first apt and that eye dr that saw the initial “well let’s take a look” signs.
    Also I must say that clean hair looks amaze!! Bet it felt so good to get that clean. Lol. Plus you’re almost comb over isn’t as obvious.

    • @TheTravelingHusbands
      @TheTravelingHusbands  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Haha! Somehow, Jennifer, you seem to just “get it.” The hair comment just made Ed smile. And yes, our copay actually ended up being $0 after the claim processed. So frustrating!!!

    • @jenkintz2438
      @jenkintz2438 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’d say I try, but I’d like to hope it’s just human nature. This is an emotional roller coaster of highs and lows. while you have gotten great news for all intents and purposes, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s emotional and you guys will deal with it forever. The amount of time Ed has to get treatment is so so much and any little smile, I’m glad to provide. Plus people forget about all the little things we take advantage of till they are gone. Like washing hair, leaving the house, the ability to roll over and hold each other in the middle of the night when there’s pain or emotional moments, without the fear of hurting him. Big stuff aside. The little things make us feel human and connected. I was so enjoying getting to know you guys with josh and Britt before this battle. Then you got the news and you just need all that many more friends and love!!! (Even if it’s technical strangers). Bottom line glad I could help, anytime you need a smile I’m only an Instagram away! Especially with all the upcoming appts. 💚💙❤️

    I'm so glad to hear that it's a good prognosis. I know you both will work together to fight this. As for the next place you should vlog from, how about some Food and Wine? Or, maybe a stop by Disney Springs? A sundae from Ghirardelli perhaps? I selfishly request that because my husband and I are going to Disney for our 10 year anniversary in December and I am dying to try a sundae from there! :) But, really, anywhere would be great. It'll just be nice to see you both out and about.

    • @TheTravelingHusbands
