lol yeah old boy looking like hes 70
Are most mid-sized truck buyers really indifferent about bed liners? To me, I don't want to pay $51k for a truck and then have to go buy a bed liner for it. It seems like that should be standard on anything above a bare-bones trim.
No you are 100% right. Should be standard on mid level and up. That painted bed will get wrecked quickly.
Some people don’t wan bedliners tho
Not everyone wants a spray in bed liner and if you do, the aftermarket options such as Line x offer better options and are thicker than factory ones.
i meant bedliners lol
@@marcg.3830I'd argue that fewer still want the added expense of bed protection after spending over 50k on a truck.
I just can't see $51,000 for a midsized truck
Insane
4cyl too
The problem is trucks and large suvs became peoples daily driver. This is a whole lot more vehicle and tech than used to be required of the Ranger. Consumers need to bare some responsibility for the prices of cars today.
Then buy one for $35,000 which is possible and quit looking at the fully gussied up ones that offer little value. I could have paid $50,000 for the vehicle I bought even 4 years ago, but went for a lower trim model that stickered for $33,000.
I can't see 51000 for a full sized truck...it's absolutely ridiculous. Every single truck is way over priced
Love the new Ranger...when the 2.7L is available, this is probably going to be my next truck. The prices are a little discouraging though. I currently drive a '21 Ranger XL 4x4 with the STX and FX4 packages (also bedliner, tow package, floor liners and tonneau cover). Got it brand new for 32k back in 2021. Now you can't even get a base model 4x2 for that price!
In todays car prices it’s a deal compared to something like a Jeep Grand Cherokee that has a sticker price of $75,000-$80,000
51k, Ridiculous but again everything else costs a Mint these days.
It’s really not
I'd pay 25K for that truck
@@MuahMan ok you will be making payments then still
Watch a few episodes of Shark Tank to figure out why. Those sharks only invest in something with 80%+ profit. And those are just insulated mugs and smoothie mixes, just imagine how much profit there is on a $51K item.
10 years ago you could purchase a 2014 fully loaded f150 Platinum for this same price or less with rebates. I've lost all hope of it ever going back to the way things were.
They can keep sitting for that price. Thanks for the info! 👍
This truck is 2 inches wider for more stability and shocks are mounted on outside of chassis resulting in less bouncy ride unloaded.
@Ben Hardy: If you are going to get a Ranger Lariat… might as well get the Ranger Raptor at that price point!
I would be embarrassed to be seen in a Raptor.
@@daphoneguy934 you must be an asshat
@@daphoneguy934 I don't know about embarrassed, but can buy something with a lot more capable for a lot less money. Guy in my home town is selling his Unimog for $10k.
@@daphoneguy934 why
@@daphoneguy934
Raptor embarrassed to have you in it more like😂😂
My wife and I have Ford and Toyota vehicles, we’re very happy with them. The one thing I will say is when we go on trips we take my F150 over her RAV4 because of the comfort factor. Toyotas run forever but they aren’t built for comfort. If I were to go smaller on a truck I would probably go with the Ranger over the Tacoma because of the comfort factor. That said, if the new Tacomas have fixed that then I may go Toyota.
They definitely have fixed the comfort factor as that was a major complaint with the older iteration. I have watched a number of videos. But the Tacos are ohhh so pricey tho.
Watching Ben go bald right before our eyes
Love how the Lariat trim doesn’t have full LED taillights like the last gen. Nice truck but cmon Ford
Seeing all of the Ranger Raptor reviews the past few days, I'm starting to turn from waiting on the 4th Tacoma halo trims and strongly considering the Ford now.
You get way for your money with Ford. I'm willing to bet the halo Tacomas are going to fall way short of the raptor.
$51,000… R.I.P car market
Just dont buy it. The market will fix itself.
Holy crap! I did NOT see that 51K coming. Wow.
Obviously you've been living under a rock the last couple years? 😅
$51k is ridiculously high for that truck. That's very close to a new ZR2 price with comparable options.
But they did a better job with the interior. By building a new chassis they made it wider and longer wheelbase. Unlike the rest of the segment this has a usable back seat. The front seats are by far the most comfortable in class. This will be the roomiest in segment. Plus Ford uses the 10 speed which will also be better then GM's 8 speed. I know they fixed allot of the issues with that but the 10 is still better. ZR2 isn't very capable. Can't tow or carry much. And the multimatics can fail and are very costly to replace. The Ranger is by far the most capable if you actually want to use it as a truck. And by far the most comfortable. IMO, this is top of class. With the longer wheelbase they can now put the 2.7 in it. That's a game changer. And with the Raptor the 3.0 HO will be insane.
Dude Id get a fully loaded 2-year old F150 for this price
Definitely a better looking truck. I really like it, but these new car prices are insane.
I find the ranger much more comfortable than the new tacoma, i am still looking for an on the lot canyon
Ford actually made it a bit wider and longer wheelbase. Back seat is loads bigger/nicer then the taco which took a turn for the worst. Even worse then the 3rd gen and that's not saying much. For 51K your not going to have leather, and the soft touch surfaces on the taco like you have here. Your going to get globs of hard plastics. New taco is so freaking cheap now and its by far the most expensive mid size. The Ranger would be my top pick because Ford actually made it a bit bigger. They got the most comfortable seats. Owned a 2014 in the Fiji Islands with a diesel and it was a fantastic truck. Plus this one is the most capable as far as what you can carry and tow. The wider track will make it more stable then the competition. Ford was last to the new gen party but IMO the best option by far.
@@HiPlains1 No heated mirrors on the XLT was a deal killer for me living in the Northeast. The Lariat and Raptor have them but I prefer cloth seats.
1.2 trillion government spending package . More inflation.
Everything is too expensive now. But I just don’t see 51k here.
I stopped watching when it got to the msrp part.
This car they should give as a bonus while purchasing F150 Platinum and above
Finally coming out with these 24 models. In a few months they will start rolling out the 25's.
Thank you for always putting arrows in the thumbnail. I’m never able to figure out where the truck is 😢
Ford could dominate this segment but quality control (or lack thereof) is their Achilles’ heel.
Perception and reality are two different things. Most of those in doubt have never owned one.
Price doesn’t help
@@302Mustang13You’re so right!
Cheaper than Toyota
@@markcomisky7106
Most are
With the release of the new Ranger lineup, I really think the front end looks off to me. It looks more like a big Maverick than a small F150. The Raptor front end is what I think looks okay but not in love with it. Well, at least I do not want to upgrade. We'll see what they do for the next Tremor series, that could be interesting.
Seems pretty base for a lariat. Insane prices
I think the Canyon at4 might be the best value as for 51k sticker you can get one fully loaded.
I think the ranger when the six comes out will also be a good value.
For the money the frontier pro 4x is probably best value but it's older tech.
Those three would be my choices.
The final decision would come down to do I want to spend 50k or 45k.
If you’re gonna spend $50k+ on a truck, you might as well get a GMC Canyon, because then at least you have better options at that price and a really nice product.
I think the canyon Denali got them all beat - its got luxury - ventilated seats etc
@@allandenola5968 I agree. I think the Denali is a great truck for that price. Believe they start around $51k which is a better deal than the Ford Ranger in my opinion. Like you said, it’s incredibly nice and has almost all the features you’d want on a truck. Only thing missing is the off-road element, but I feel that’s not the worst trade off for the Denali.
@@allandenola5968 Fully agree. Think the Denali is a really good truck for that price as you basically get everything you want in a truck, besides the off-road capability. But, in my opinion, that isn’t a bad trade off for all the really good features you get.
but you cant drive it outside canyon
Over 50 grand and no bedliner😂🤡🌎🤷♂️
Looks good. Wish they had a hybrid version.
they do, they have a plug in hybrid in Australia.
Looks like a corporate work truck and not so personal truck
When does Ford anticipate the 7L V6 coming on line?
I'm glad I bought my 21 Ford Ranger Tremor for the price I did for new
Flimsy hood popper 😂
Very nice truck I would drive one!!!!
25% overpriced
RESPECTFUL CORRECTION: $25000.00 or 50%
Everything is right now.
@@reddog3544
$25K
LOL
Sure thing
😁 I was trying to be nice 😁
Pretty good payload. There are quite a few new additions that are pretty nice. But that 10 speed still needs tweaking. And 2024 pricing for ALL truck brands are still WAY outta whack! Nice review and parking lot tour 😂 …thanks Ben.
Just traded my 2019 Ranger for a 2024 6speed manual Tacoma with zero regrets. More room in the cab, composite bed from the factory and manual. It feels more like a truck where the '19 Ranger felt more like a SUV. I'll never knock a Ford truck but being 6'2" the Tacoma gave me more room and the fact that they still offer a standard made the change over for me very easy.
I wouldn't pay 20K for something with a turbocharged motor. Good-looking truck though.
You wouldn't pay $20K for something with a Duramax, PowerStroke, or a Cummins? 🤔
@@Rich-xq3uv a diesel I would your right. Assuming I needed one.
@@jeffmacey6482 I agree, I wouldn't want a little turbocharged engine too.
50K + dollars for a small truck with a 4 cylinder is WAY TOO MUCH. If they would make the lariat or the tremor 4x4 with the ranger raptor V6 in the 40K dollars range I would be a buyer. The 4 cylinder could be a good delivery/work truck.
$51,000 should be the price of a nice Lariat F150 with 3.5 v6 not a small truck
or two
People complaining about 51k but the new tacos are marked up over 60k 😂 and its less capable as a truck, and are having some issues which the only reason to even buy a tacoma is to not have issues lmao.
The truck is plenty big now, I’m sure it can fit a 5.0 in the engine bay 😂 Imagine if Ford made it happen 😮
Ford should offer the stereo upgrade on the XLT, and remove the RC Car antennae
I otherwise line the truck, the FX4 package and advanced tow package seem like real good value. Relatively speaking of course; these are all over priced
2024 Ford Ranger Lariat Sport FX4 OFF-ROAD Package Crew Cab 4X4!
If y’all really want this and also have the patience to take on the long haul then I’d say wait for the 2.7L V6 rangers to come out. Should be a lot more reliable than that 2.3 turbo 4.
Awesome new truck
With the 2.7 Turbo coming out in the Ranger it would hard to pass up with all the extra HP and torque. I have a 20 Tacoma and the V6 leaves a lot to be desired pulling anything.
For the Ford Ranger it costs 55,800. I think it’s a better deal than the tacoma
I thought they were going to the 2.7 V6 in the ranger?
The 2.7 is coming, supposedly.
Good Review - nice vehicle.
I’d love to see a side by side comparison with the last generation Ranger Tremor. I’m not seeing the little hidden accents like the last generation had like the Ranger wording on the windshield or in the tail lights
If that’s the lariat, really the exterior is extremely minimal no bedliner, interior cheap carpet no custom floor mats they’re not gonna be able to compete with the GMC Canyon
Oh no no custom floor Mats😂 because that's what people are looking for
I love this new style of ranger I just wish it truly had a “basic” model that doesn’t have that big ass screen there’s no need for that probably only reason they’re charging a lot for this truck
The smaller screen is available
Is that built in South Africa?
Nope. U. S. for the American market. Same factory as the Bronco.
@@just4ivaylo92 thats even worse
A video comparing the new Ranger vs the new Tacoma with pros cons would be really appreciated. Do you think that the Tacoma 2.4 will be more reliable than the Ford 2.3 or 2.7? Enough legroom for 5’8” passengers to be comfortable?
no
Definitely not the 2.3. Maybe the 2.7 V6 though since a V6 tends to outlast turbo 4s.
For 2024 my bet is with the Ranger 2.3 Once Toyota has more experience with the 2024 2.4L like maybe the 2026 year model, then it will probably be more reliable.
I would never buy a ford just because of the annoying door chime sound.
what a great reason not to buy any vehicle.
@@tomfrattarelli1365 I’m glad you agree.
Like the videos 📹 But I say move the camera back some. Plus was the check engine light on?
Seems like Ford missed the mark. The Colorado ZR2 gives you more everything for the same price range.
Love it. Makes me want to trade up from my 21 tremor just for interior. Maybe when they get the tremor package soon.
Yeah. You go order a Tremor and let us know what the dealer markup is. That's always hilarious.
Bro…. Please shave, you look like happy Gilmore’s caddy. Great content as usual though.
Why looking like Forrest Gump? Oh yes Ranger is awesome.
Was wondering if you compared the 2024 Ford lariat FX 42 something equivalent in the 2024 Toyota Tacoma was wondering what your opinion is
Man, the guage said 1 mile to empty. You're giving me anxiety just driving it around in the parking lot.
You can easily do 30+ more miles. Those gauges have built-in buffer.
🤣
fuel gauges are idiot proof. theres always more in the tank
There are exactly two versions of the new Ranger that folks should buy: the base XL truck or the Raptor. Everything else is absolutely garbage in terms of pricing and value.
No dealership has them yet
The ranger offers more features for less money. Toyota trd sport doesn’t have power in the bed or seat. And it’s 46k.
Full size gmc elevation for 54k,no brainer
Nope i'll keep my new tacoma for 33000 out the door !
Ben, with all the quality issues Ford has (3 years in a row most recalled car brand), you think that the Ranger will outsell Tacoma.? Sorry sir, not going to happen.
Do they make a ranger king ranch?
The truck as shown is worth about 25-26K.
Trim it...Brother.
$51k plus dealer markup for what looks like a basic truck (exterior)?!? Tacomas will continue to lead the segment in sales.
It has way more space than the Tacoma
Is the 2.7 the same engine that has been offered in the F150 for years?
I think the 3.5L is the reliable engine for the F150
The front end looks like a mini F 250 and the screen looks like there trying to copy mopar people and that shifter reminds me of something you see out of the jeep products anyways seems like a great truck but glad its still different from the rest.
Not much driving because it’s a custom order for someone
I thought you didn’t drive those
At $51000 id just go rapter
No 6 ft bed, not for me!
Toyota Tacoma can hold its own against Ford. Just makes me appreciate my purchased used 2016 Tacoma that much more. The V6 naturally aspirated engine will last longer than the turbo versions.
ranger has better reliability ratings then the tacoma so
@@kidamere2408 I look forward to seeing the 5 year and 10 year statistics on reliability on Ford Ranger vs Toyota Tacoma. We shall see which one wins.
To each their own. That v6 is a dog, especially paired with the auto. Might last a while if you are willing to put up with it.
@@Vasheiit does suck pretty bad, that’s why I had mine tuned
Redesigned Ranger with a redesigned price tag. SMH!
Looks like a suv
The Ford Everest SUV is based on the ranger and sold in the rest of the world but the US.
Wtf i bought a use car for $10 grand. $50k cars lose value when you buy it and drive it off the lot at 35 percent
Sure. Let me know when Ford actually produces some Rangers for the dealer lots. They sure were a US failure in 22 and 23.
To much plastic for the price you pay
You're running low on gas Ben!!!!
ONLY $51000.00 LMAO FARLEY KNOWS WHAT HE CAN DO WITH THAT.😎
overpriced by about $15K
Sounds good. If Ford would sell you a crew cab Ranger with a 2.5 naturally aspirated 4cyl with 175 horsepower for $26,000, would you buy it?
Truth
ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT?!?
Nope
RIP Toyota Tacoma sales?!?😭😭😭 Put down the crack!
No sunroof. Will be a deal breaker for some
Sunroof means future problems
@@MrWolf2212
Yep, one more thing to have problems with
@@lordrayden3045that’s a slippery slope. By the time you’re done axing features because of possible problems down the road, all you’ll be left with is a bicycle.
lol talk about misleading clickbait title. all that attempted hype just for the price to pretty much be the same and have less stuff 😂 good try. Toyota will still drag the ranger in the dirt 😂 Toyota will lose sales due to their greedy strategy but it won’t be as bad as ford with this price.
Hahahahaha! 51k!!!
I like the interior ..the exterior seems the usual Ford style ..ford needs a major exterior updating especially the front ..something radical .. please stop dry revving the motor when you first start it .. the computer knows what it needs ..price is too high ..40k is plenty .. thank you
Doesn't need to be radical Doesn't need to look like a cartoon character like the Tacoma lol
It seems you test trucks that have no fuel dealer a little cheap
lmao check engine is already on. This will break by 100k miles and the tacoma will still be running lol
