I live in Dallas but make 4-5 trips a year to fish Louisiana. I really enjoy your videos and appreciate you sharing your techniques. Thanks for taking time to share what you do.
Man that brought back memories! We used to stay at those camps in the early 90’s and fish the lights then go run out to the beach and wade fish the passes! Good to see it still holding bigguns but also sad to see how none of its left
@@speckledtruth4577 That’s my first time and I thought it was beautiful. It’s so wild to see those camps out in the middle of the water like that. My friend was telling me hurricane Ida took out a bunch of them. It’s sad….
Nothing like swimming a bait near the bottom and waiting to get slammed.......a few weeks ago at G. I. we smoked some 16-20 inch trout on tandem plastic Matrix shads and 1/4 oz jigs. That was a BLAST....Looks like a perfect day with no wind and calm, clear water. Awesome video You better start doing come cardio brother those big gals had you breathing hard 😝👍
Haven't been to that area in a couple years, looks like it may be time to get back down there. Only bad part about that trip is traveling down 23. Another awesome video, thanks for sharing!!!
Got ya some chunks!!Made me a MONSTER paddle last Th and only came home with one speck but it was a 15 in thick speck and I lost two bout de same size in one of my favorite trenasses and have seen a few You-Tubers fishing somewhat close to this spot. This time of year NO DOUBT some dem E Lake P bridges and Causeway giving up CHUNKS.Gonna shift gears towards duck/deer hunting and hope to chase a few fish soon!!
@@anthonycyprusjr7829 It’s fun spending time in your favorite spots even if the fishing isn’t on fire. Good luck with the deer hunting. I Hope you get a nice one.
Damn that’s another awesome video and fishing trip!! You gonna make me put some miles on that kayak!!! Hahaha. Actually been down there once and badly want to return. That is some great structure y’all were fishing. Love the hook sets! You and me both. Nothing like it. ‘Oh Son’!! Cheers and continued good luck.
@@ThePentUpAngler thanks Mark! Yeah it would be quite a haul to get there in the yak, but knowing you, you would probably catch a limit of trout 37 yds from the marina 😂
Great Video Jar. Is the Fitzgerald rod the Matrix Shad Series or one of the other series? Your rod and reel seems to cast fairly light baits with ease.
@@dddppp8131 no it’s not the Matrix version, It is the Vursa line. They are about 120$. My key to casting light lures with a baitcaster is three fold… 1) light rod: I use a medium light for the light weight lures. 2) setting the tension knob correctly. After fishing with the same reels for a while, I have it pretty dialed in. 3) Learning how to feather the spool with your thumb so you don’t get backlash.
I was gonna ask about your setup, but you answered that question. How long of a leader do you prefer? Do you ever fish straight braid? Thanks for taking us along!
@@JamesBrown-uz3sf I usually tie on about 6ft and change it out once it gets down below 2ft long. I fish straight braid if I’m throwing a top water frog for redfish because the hookset can be pretty violent and you have to drag them out of the grass sometimes
Great seeing a new video and it didn’t disappoint. Wow that was crazy. Those days are a blast. Just don’t come often for me. Question?? What is that tide chart you put on the screen? Thanks keep the videos coming.
@@chadwilson6550 thanks Chad. The tide chart is from the NOAA buoy. If you go to the NOAA website, there is a map that shows all the weather stations and buoys. You select the station that is close to where you are fishing. For example, I look at the Shell Beach buoy if I’m fishing Hopedale.
Reel sounds a bit rough , is that normal b, have same one lefty , braid makes a noise but not that loud , i switched to beyond braid , seems to work very well for both spin , bait casters , where’s this cold weather at lol , been catching a few big ones but plenty of dinks still out there , been on a tagging spree last few months on trout & reds just gonna get better as the months get colder , glad w see ya back out there
Great video brother and man you were slammin' them hammers. I don't live down that way but I do go down every once in a while to fish as you know. I do what I call Google map fishing and I have seen that area and thought it looked good, that is if you are around DI, But what I want to know is what are all the whiyte things in lines and shapes that are out there? Again, great video, God bless and see you on the next one.
