Love my megacab! Had one with a hemi. Then a crew with a cummins, missed the mega, so bought almost this same truck and absolutely love it!
Do you miss the Cummins at all?

I love how ran was able to give the rear seats air vents and chargers dispute having the front bench seat. Cmon Ford up your game with the bench seat
Love those MegaCabs! I have the 6.4 Hemi with 4.10 rear end in mine and it really pops off the line. Plus the ride is great for an HD. Did the truck you reviewed have the rear air suspension? That could make a difference. I can tow over 16k and have about 1000 pounds more in capacity as the Hemi weighs so much less. From my perspective, if you NEED the diesel , and lot the people who buy these don't, then it makes more sense to go with the 3500. Another great review.
The problem right now, unless you want to wait 3 to 6 months for a custom build, you have to buy off the lot. Virtually all Diesels and I've yet to see a Megacab in the wild.
@@jondrew55 yup....just bought one this week. Wasn't really wanting the diesel but had to buy a truck before the half ton I had became bad enough I couldn't trade in. All they had was diesel or gas in regular cab. Oh well I guess.
I feel like vehicles will become the next housing crisis. Vehicle prices are so inflated that soon I hope there will be a crash and trucks and cars will stop costing 90-100 k. I remember being able to get top of the line trucks for 55k, now they’re pushing 100k.

The prices are high because Americans like big vehicles overall(demand) and the profit margins are higher for these vehicles as well. The only way they'll go down is if the consumer stops paying these prices, which isnt going to happen.

Ben what do you mean people will probably never take this off road??? I had mine off of a paved surface once because there was a detour and I had to drive half a mile down a dirt road.... I considered that a good off Roading test...😝👍
My uncle had an 06 2500 Cummins with a mega cab and that had leg room for miles. When he got his 2019 3500 dually he also opted for another mega cab. They’re fantastic for road trips and tall people because you can sit comfortably
A 2019 mega cab has the same rear leg room as a crew cab 😂
Honestly if ordering new, the mega cab is only a $1515 option over crew cab. Unless you’re getting a better discount on a crew cab then the mega would be my go to. More room while you own it and much better resale value at the end. Just my opinion
I only used went off road in my truck twice. It was because people had me blocked in the driveway and instead of going in and saying anything I drove through the yard. Used the 4x4 to go through a ditch. Worth the money.
The mega cab is the only way I'd get the ram hd. They still use the old cab for the hd so technically the 1500 has a bigger interior.
Just landed a 22, same color with the cummins and night package. Love it.

Agree with the screen . I’ve had two 5th gens . Botha screens and i prefer the 8.4 over the 12 inch i had . Easier to use and less busy .

Mega cab is a bit much imho. Looking forward to the new interior. Hopefully 2022 but we will see.
Today, I traded in my 2015 RAM 2500 Laramie Mega Cab for a 2022 Ford F-350 Lariat with the Tremor package. I am very disappointed in the RAM over the 6 years that I've owned it. I have had to pay for several costly repairs (solenoid valve, heater core, broken RAM boxes, broken rear seat recline/fold down etc.). I have never towed anything with this truck nor have I hauled anything more than the family and our stuff on vacation. Yesterday my " check engine" light came on. I took the truck to the local dealer where I bought the truck and have had all my service done. They told me the following: I need a new torque converter, I need to have the 4x4 system serviced, the transmission is slipping and needs God knows what and the brakes, yet again, every year need new pads/rotors. Total if I do all this work: $4,100.00. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. i have 135k miles on this truck and have driven it lightly. A supposed "heavy duty" truck should not have these problems. This was my 1st RAM. I loved the versatility and room of the Mega Cab but the rear seats have been broken for over a year...the cost to repair: $1,100.00. The truck looks great and the interior is better than Ford or GM but the truck is a heap of shit. Don't buy one.
If you're not hauling stuff or towing, or off roading, why do you need a truck like this?
Why not a simple 2wd. No one can tell the difference on the highway.

Hey Ben, got a question (dilemma)...I went to my local dealer to special order a 2021 Ram 1500 Limited, and the GM that was taking the order from me told me that the non-Etorque 5.7 Hemi was not available on any trim level on the Chrysler website where they place orders. The Ram website where you can do a build & price from home has the 5.7 Hemi as the standard engine with the 5.7 Etorque as an option. Do you have a way to find out for me what the story really is? He said he was going to call Chrysler on Monday and find out and let me know, but I also would like to hear what you have to say about it. It also might help out your other subscribers that want to place a special order for a new truck. Also, great video, keep up the good work.

I’d like to have a 6 passenger mega cab but in that configuration, if you have a passenger in every seat, nobody in the back seat has a cup holder.

That's the most stripped down Laramie I've ever seen.
The reason you felt a difference is because the 3500 has the high output Cummins and the 2500 is the lower output.
Incorrect... sort of. The 2500 does not have the HO option so your stick with the standard output.
The 3500 is available with the standard output or for an additional fee you can option for the high output with the upgraded transmission. Just seeing 3500 does not in any way guarantee that it's a high output.

Only 1900 lbs of payload and it comes with the fifth wheel prep? Hmmm! Get a 3500 instead!
The bench seat is perfect ive been wanting them to bring back bench seats and they also gave more than enough storage with it

I clicked on this so I could see the details on the difference in the mega cab. Next time, set down the camera and show how the seats fold
What gets me is the low depreciation. New is ridiculous, but used is not much better.

Of course is worth it.
If I were to get a sport package on a RAM 2500, I would option it with the 6.4 hemi if you want more power if it makes sense to anyone.

Ram is producing a very aesthetic truck, and i like the versatility/reliability of the Cummins, but you can keep the 68.

Base price is 34k not 70k...and that 34k is MSRP most people won’t be paying that they will better deals.

You seem like a nice guy. But I really dislike the format and execution of your reviews. Sorry.
I find you often glance at a feature of a vehicle with no added value other than to flip us a quick glance at it. Example: here is the suspension (1 split second). I know a truck will have a suspension. Instead you spend a lot of time on things that have no function (badges, chrome plating, logos, etc).
And you seem to append the words “In General” to the end of sentences, often causing them not to make sense.
Its good you’re trying to perfect your craft. Good luck with it. Just letting you know where things are not working for some of us. Hopefully your videos will improve in the future because you seem sincere in making them good.
