Honestly it's never been. Wwe vs WCW was actual war. It was a power struggle cuz they both delivered same kind of product, they were structured the same, they targeted the same audience. It only came down to who did it better. Aew never targeted what wwe wanted. An alternative is all they have always been. WCW was there to kill wwf by being an actual challenge. Aew was created to provide what wwe can't. They never went with the intention of killing wwe. They cater to very different audience . I barely see any regular wwe fan appreciating aew or vice versa. Currently, it's 4 of 4. There was a time, 4-5 years ago, that Omega might have gotten a big offer. Now he's been shown to be a guy who wrestles 1 match regardless of his opponent and a guy who can't cut a promo.

The fact that Dave talks about AEW like they are a legitimate competitor to WWE is just ridiculous.
At one time I'd agree with Dave on that. They were doing great bussiness I loved aew when it first started in 2019. After cody left, the product kind of fell off or at the very least it wasnt as consistent. After brawl out the company just feels dead. The thing to is it feels like no one even cares. Tony thinks everything is great. One of my biggest issues with aew is all the stables and teams. It's super frustrating seeing guys like Andrade black Murphy big bill and so many others locked into a stable. These guys should be singles wrestlers fighting eachother going after the top titles!!!!

You can't denounce Punk leaving AEW for WWE as, "Oh well he got fired. It's different." The situation was so terrible with AEW that it made Punk actually choose to go back to the company he swore he'd never have anything to do with again. That should tell you the level of disdain he has for AEW. Dave is right: That's now two significant stars who have left AEW because of the Young Bucks.
