Take a bow Bryan. You and Dave made it possible. You should win bookers of the year.
I don't think he's tall enough to take a bow.
Lmao they need to help get Mjf, Darby, and mox to WWE as well

Meltzer is the best at predicting things 5 minutes after they happen. He has a 98% accuracy rate at foreseeing events after the fact as reported by Wrestletalk news.
Bryan he was in wwe for 7 years. 6 of them were drama free. They will take that every single time.
Yeah they act like he was horrible from the start and like his debut at a ppv wasn't with DX for chirst sake 😂..
Actually from what I remember Punk saying, there was drama even before he got to the main roster, he just didn't see it as major enough to think about quitting then. I'm talking stuff like Tony Atlas didn't get him, stuff he didn't really care about (and I wouldn't, either). Nothing worth holding a grudge over for the type of money he could make with them (but he wasn't making it at that point, all the more reason to put up with it until he was). Stuff like only Heyman really vouched for him, and they actually wanted Heyman to fire him at first. All of that really pales to the later stuff, like working too sick and getting fired when and where he did. It's just at what level the drama was at the time, and what he could and couldn't put up with.
But you can hear it sometimes when other people tell stories and he doesn't sound miserable, it wasn't all bad. Every time I've heard Cody mention him in a Rumble, it's always been positive.
And after AEW, I'm convinced that Punk just has a much lower threshold for what he can put up with at his age. I would like to assume he knows WWE well enough to know what he's in for, and vice versa. Because when I first heard multi-year, I thought, "Maaaybe give a few months before you start talking years?"
It absolutely was not a drama free 6 years. You obviously were not following the reported backstage drama back then.
Facts! Delusional punk haters forget he did really well for a few years. I highly doubt he will be there as long this time around, but that’s because he wants to end his career on a positive note.

I'm kinda new to the Uncle Dave and Alvarez beef with Punk. But man this guy seemed like he was gonna cry a few times. Straight up hating mark.
Dave and Bryan are super hardcore ungodly ridiculous marks for the Elite and Punk justifiably hates them.
Vinny is the only one with any credibility and is the only likeable one. Alvarez and Meltzer are both marks that don't have any more authority in the world of wrestling news or opinions than anyone else.
"Fallout?" For who? Tony Kahn for handing over the biggest talent in Wrestling to his competition? "Booker of the Year" sure gave Hunter a early Christmas present didn't he?
Biggest talent? Hahaha he has no talent just living off the fame he got in 2011 hahahaha
yes that what the word fallout means nothing else good job, moron.
Biggest talent hahahahahahaha
Punk is old and fragile and not nearly the superstar say a Roman Reigns is at this time. But then to a fan, your favorite is always the biggest star. As a kid, I thought the Ultimate Warrior was the greatest of all time. Time showed me how wrong I was.

Punk was a team player in AEW until he got near the world title and a very specific group of people started getting weird about it. Didn't hear a single negative word about him in the dirtsheets until the Hangman feud, where apparently AEW needed to be "protected from him." Well they did it, they protected themselves from that scary idea of having over a million viewers, what great team players they have in AEW now that Punk is gone.
all this drama because of the elite and hangman being friends with colt cabana
What? Punk was champion. Am I not reading this right?
@eddiew2325 yea the 20 people were each independently to blame, not the one guy who has a glass jaw and a glass ego
@@natethenub6595 mhm, and I'm sure that applies to Cody too? But nah, has to be Punk making all this trouble that only became a problem once he worked with Hangman. Almost like some real team players were putting their feelings ahead of business and have driven off two actual draws now.
His whole 1st year he was the company guy. He was doing all the press tours and media junkets. He literally put everyone over in his promos. The 1st indication that some in the locker room felt a way about him was when Kingston said they don't want him there but won't say it. What has he done to anyone at that point? If the ppl in the locker room had a problem with him at that point, then they probably resent him for the impact he had on AEW from someone who wasn't apart of their boy's club. The thing that no one wants to acknowledge is that wrestlers are petty and territorial like that when someone comes in who they might not be buddies with and they get all the shine. I could see that being the case for the Elite because they helped build that place and their biggest draw was him, and he wasn't dying to kiss their ass. From what i heard, he was pretty nice to them! He reached out to kenny omega when he first signed and said he'd like to work with the bucks. So, all this 'he's the problem' bs never sat right with me.
Bryan is so hurt by this 😂. Their bias is so clear and anyone can see that this is terrible for AEW and strengthens WWE a lot.
Alvarez is so salty 😂

Punk not a team player? AEW’s “team players” don’t measure up that much either.
honestly as a huge AEW fan that has been being let down for some time this can only look bad for AEW
He's wont be a team player for trans activists the minute he steps in saudi Arabia that's for sure
The fact that other people in AEW are as bad team players than Punk is doesn't make Punk any less of a bad team player.
In fact Punk is the only person who has two suspensions and a firing for cause.
Let's see, one person has been in multiple companies and had multiple disagreements with others. Other people have been in multiple companies and always had a great reputation with everyone they've worked with. @@Fehuoz they’ve lost a lot of credibility in a lot of fans eyes I think. They were never really over but I think people at least thought they were decent guys looking out for AEW instead of guys who might have been sabotaging a bigger star who they were jealous of.
The fallout is another massive blow to The Observer's credibility which has been at an all time low since they simped for AEW (and I love AEW).
Yeah, have been fully on board with AEW since day one. But once Punk joined all of the Observers coverage fully exposed the worst suppositions about them and who their AEW connections were that I refused to believe. They're actually hurting that promotion in a serious way.
Critical of wwe selling tickets, AEW sells none. 😂🎉🎉🎉

Punk’s fault for what happened in AEW? Remind me again who was the person reported that wanted to meet and hash out their issues and do business? It’s not just him.
He is the one that chose to assault co-workers and has yet to provide a shred of evidence to link them to anything. He also lied about the Bucks kicking in the door to his locker room. He also lied about his dog getting hurt in the brawl. It's MOSTLY his fault. He should have gone to the principal first.

Salt salt salt. Come on guys.
You can’t say he wasn’t a team player in AEW. He tried to give advice and no one wanted it… not to mention had some prima-donna REFUSE to lose to him. He wasn’t free of blame, but he doesn’t get to shoulder all of it either.
According to who? Why do you believe one person at face value?
@@JC-ok4yxRicky Starks, Jade Cargill, Brit Baker, Hobbs, Mark Henry, Jim Ross, Danhausen, Danielson and many more talked about how Punk was helping them to improve their work... the problem was only with the californian kids club.
@@carlosr6462 I never said he didn't do some good things, but the way he was handling other situations was inexcusable. It was more than just the "california kids club" that he threw shade at. Punk assumed it was the Bucks spreading rumors when for all we know it was 10 from the Dark Order or Ryan Nemeth or something like that. Punk wanted to say, "if you have a problem talk to me." but then he was the first one in big interviews to throw other people under the bus. I'm sure his excuse would be they're the ones who have the issue, but if you're going to act like the bigger person then you should be the one to reach out and see if there's a problem before you bury people without ever giving them a chance.
By the way, I listened to "report" that caused the drama between Hangman and Punk. I still remember it because I listen every morning when I get ready for work. It went something like this to paraphrase, "Last night after the promo word is Punk wasn't happy about Hangman's line about Cabana." That's it. Then a couple of weeks later it spiraled out of control.
As a psychologist, Punk's behavior is one of two things or probably even both: He is an egomaniac that cannot take criticism or insults from those around him, AND/OR he enjoys stirring the pot for the sake of causing controversy. Looking back at his time in AEW, I'm personally leaning towards the latter moreso than the former, because Punk went out of his way to start things, whether it be backstage or at the media scrum. He didn't use wisdom or maturity to diffuse any situation, and considering his age and how much older he is than many of the young wrestlers in AEW, he should have been more responsible for how he behaved in all of those circumstances. Don't get me wrong, others and their behavior is part of the problem, too, but Punk is a veteran of the game and one that many of these young wrestlers looked up to. He immediately burned those bridges by behaving childishly at points. Let's just look at one situation: Hangman.
With Hangman, you have a young 32-year-old who is adored by most people in the locker room. Hangman loves Colt Cabana, and I'm sure Hangman and Colt have talked a lot about the Punk situation from years ago and how Colt was being pushed off of TV once Punk debuted on AEW. Hangman, others backstage, and fans were all speculating that Punk pressured TK to remove Colt from his presence, so when Hangman went off script during that Dynamite and accused Punk of lowballing Colt, what should Punk have done there? Punk is 13 years older than Hangman, and this could have been a teaching moment had Punk handled it properly. He could have made amends with Colt, which is something Colt wanted anyway, and dispelled those rumors and actually make Hangman look like the bad guy. Instead, Punk went on an aggressive rant after winning the AEW championship from Hangman, who did the deed for Punk, and that made Punk look like an ass even more. Was Hangman in the right? Not really, but was Punk more in the wrong? Yes. He should have handled the situation way better, and I think that line applies to most of the problems Punk had in AEW. He just handled them poorly.
I hope he does better in WWE, but if he doesn't change his behavior, I doubt it.
I have been watching a bunch of those videos from “wrestling Journalist” doing mental gymnastics to salvage the little credibility they had… mostly they are all pissed off that they could not will CM Punk’s wrestling career out of existence.
I am saying that as someone not a fan of Punk as a person
Its hard to be a team player when your teammates are immature brats😂😂😂

Wasn't the Bucks side, that's for damn sure, they don't give a fuck about making AEW profit. It was Punks side. Not to mention, we heard tons of stories of Punk taking the roster out for dinner and paying for everybody himself, giving wrestlers expensive gifts, etc. Yeah, he wasn't a team player because the Elite said shit about him which TK has flat out denied. Punk was a team player in AEW. Unfortunately, some people on his team were selfish/immature, and they decided to mess with the company's golden goose.

Wait..wait...how the "F" did Tammy only get 17 years! She should have gotten life... WTF is wrong with our legal system smdh.
Punishing her doesn't bring the guy back or solve anything. What helps is making sure people like Tammy don't happen. We need to prevent substance abuse and make sure people get help.
What still amazes me is there was a point where Triple H was like "we can't put Chyna in the HOF because of what comes up when you Google her", yet Sunny remained there when what came up when you Googled her was porn, and she remained there through this fatal car crash and arrest, and last I checked she was still there?
Look, I don't care if she's a "personal" friend of Vince or of half the males in the company, I refuse to believe no one has said, "Maybe don't keep her in?" at least a dozen times by now. I get that she's not actively mentioned or even doing anything for the company, but that should also mean the only possible reflection she's giving them is a negative one, so it wouldn't even hurt them to quietly remove her... although it might draw attention to the fact that she was still there to begin with, which is why I feel this should have been addressed long ago. Hogan at least had to earn or wait out his way back, but not her, because she's so much more important than him??? That's what tells me this HAS to be related to something she did for some guy that Hogan wouldn't, and only one thing comes to mind, brother.

Punk will do fine in the big leagues. He is no longer in the bush leagues. AEW lacked leadership, professionalism and Punk had to put up with jobbers the Bucks and Perry despite neither being anywhere near his level. Any drama won't be tolerated in WWE. The big story is what message this sends to the AEW roster. Many must be looking at how Punk, Rhodes and Jade were debuted and now realize where they want to be. Unless Tony overpays dramatically, a talent like MJF is much more likely to reach their full potential in WWE than AEW. Thank you Jack Perry, the Bucks and the dirt sheets for making this possible. Curious to see if the Bucks will do another victory lap when they are repackaged and return in front of 1000 fans.
Bryan. People wouldn't be "mad at you" if you were fair and balanced in your 'reporting'.
Throughout all yr bullshit about him in AEW. you conveniently forget that he literally put any and everyone over UNTIL your buddies couldn't stand it and started to tell you and meltzer about him allegedly getting cabana sacked.
Before that there was ZERO issues with Punk in AEW. NONE. no reporting about him being a "cancer" in the dressing room. Nothing.
That's why people get mad at you.
I agree with you 100%. Bryan knows he's full of it. He's just upset because all that slander came back to kick them all in the nuts.
If the merger never happens does Punk still sign with WWE?

What is this guy talking about?? CM Punk was bullied out of AEW. Tony Khan let the inmates run the prison. Cody was bullied out of his own company. That's why he left. And than CM Punk was bullied out. AEW is a sinking ship. And I love it. This guy, whoever he is. Needs to start listening to Jim Cornette.
These guys themselves ran punk out of AEW because he was exposing them that they don't really know shit about the sport they make money talking about. Good ole uncle Dave's slander campaign about punk only worked with AEW because "the kid" Tony is a mark and triple H has actually held a world title before he is a wrestler not a fan with a billion dollars. It shows who had to earn their way to the top and who just got handed a wrestling company for his 18th birthday.
Weird, Mark Henry said punk was nothing but respectful and trying to work with the indie wrestlers
I bet "One Bill Phil" gets Monday Night Raw on TNT and AEW ends up going to Honor Club. 🤣

It was fun to watch Punk come back and I was legit shocked. But like, I don’t care that he’s back yah know?
This guy is just a mark
Only Meltzer thought Punk wasn’t returning.
Dave reported weeks back - there were NO talks w/ Wwe and Punk and Wwe had zero interest in Punk coming back. So what does this mean? It means Punk went crawling to them and begged to be on the show and they probably only let him on b/c it was Chicago. They never wanted him and probably have no real plans for him. Just expect him to meander to the ring and cut weak promos, because they do not want him.
Even you don't believe that Punk came back because he begged. Actually think about that. Don't be absurd. Why do the AEW hardcore fan base have to be so, so, weird when discussing anything like this? It's so creepy.
Damn the triple regime has really killed the WWE credibility of Dave Meltzer the past few years. There are very few things he gets right about WWE these days. I remember a time when Baron Corbin got legit heat for calling him a mark on Twitter. Now we know things before he reports them…..and he’s wrong more than half the time. The rise and fall smh
CM Punk can kick rocks. The irony that the "beef" in AEW was over some rumor that Punk was made at Colt...but their "beef" was over the lawsuit that WWE brought against them. Can you believe that all of that other drama came from the WWE and now Phil is back working there..?
I'm not sure what Hacksaw Jim Duggan had to do with it, that remark was unnecessary. I launched a six foot poop sub into the toilet today and it was so long it had to curve on the bowl to fit, it almost coiled.
Alvarez and Meltzer are just gonna forget Punk did 8 years his first time in WWE. And no his run didn’t go poorly. He had one of the longest WWE title reigns in history. Made a ton of legendary moments. Alvarez trying to throw shade when he’s literally the root of the problem that caused Punk to have conflict with the elite, and jungle Jim.
Alvarez doesn’t know how to take accountability for spreading lies and bringing up old beef between Punk and Cabana. It wasn’t Alvarez’s place to bring up the past, but yet he did. Doesn’t help that the elite feed Alvarez lies saying Punk got Cabana removed and then hangman blamed Punk for bullshit he had nothing to do with.
5 ads in one 10 minute video. 1 within the first 1:10 that is insane.
What would we say if an average Joe knew his worth and quit a job out of frustration and got a new job? Nothing or something positive, right?
Does CM Punk even need money? I don’t know. From what I can gather based on the fact he lives in Illinois (state tax info and median cost of living) he shouldn’t be hurting for money, and I doubt he is. Even if he was frittering away a ton of cash over the years, there’s only so much damage a person can do in Illinois and he doesn’t seem like the type to live lavishly. He seems like he wants to be comfortable and left alone.
So then we go to the return. Nothing has happened yet. December is usually a very slow month and things don’t typically pick up until Royal Rumble. Let’s be patient and see.
I was a huge CM Punk fan back in the day. He was something different and a breath of fresh air. You know what? He still is. Triple H said people still talk about him. People haven’t stopped chanting his name in his absence. He’ll mean something. He’s an actual superstar. We don’t have many of those these days, so no matter what company or show he’s on, I’m good with it.
You guys at PWinsider should be thanking CM Punk for giving you something to talk about and all the additional publicity.

I like to think there were no apologies. That when Punk showed up backstage a while back, and met with Triple H, someone said "How much?" and a number was thrown out. So when Punk left AEW, Triple H already had some idea of where he'd need to aim number-wise. The deal may be multi-year, but I have to wonder if there's any 'aggressive lunging' clauses in there...
