It was perspiration from the mega hot house lights & stage lights & a heavy jumpsuit -- but yes, Elvis was an extremely passionate & emotional singer, it came from his soul & his gut, even his upbeat, fast songs had much emotion passion & were very powerful -- like no other! THE RAMP from the STAGE: Producer/director Marty Pasetta told Parker (Elvis' manager) that he wanted to build a ramp for Elvis to walk out onto & Parker said no. I can't tell you how much i love and miss him, there is not a day that goes by that i don't think of him and all the memories we made in 10 short years, his death knocked the wind out of me i have never been the same since, Elvis was the big brother i never had. He is also my guardian angel. Graceland is my go to place when it get's to hard to live w/o my friend i go there and walk around and remember Elvis and all the beautiful times we had together. He was the only person in my life that understood me and cared about my feelings and opinions. What it comes down to is we both needed a true friend and we were that for each other. Awesome reaction. The American civil war was the US against the seceding slave states, the Confederacy, aka Dixieland. The song dixieland was a Southern anthem, while the other was a battle song of the North. The interlude in the middle represents the hundreds of thousand of men who died on both sides in the war, Glory being sung again and finally represents the victory of the North.
It's called an American Trilogy because it's made up of three song from the Civil War Era. Dixieland is what the South of the United States is sometimes called. While the song has some confederate homage. It is Elvis homage to being a southern born American.

The American civil war was the US against the seceding slave states, the Confederacy, aka Dixieland. The song dixieland was a Southern anthem, while the other was a battle song of the North. The interlude in the middle represents the hundreds of thousand of men who died on both sides in the war, Glory being sung again and finally represents the victory of the North.
It's called an American Trilogy because it's made up of three song from the Civil War Era. Dixieland is what the South of the United States is sometimes called. While the song has some confederate homage. It is Elvis homage to being a southern born American.
