I am an ABBA ho, and I say that proudly. I love all their music. I don't think they ever wrote a bad song and they wrote ALL their music. One of my favorite ABBA songs is "The Winner Takes It All." Another tearjerker.

It is great to see ABBA still giving joy and emotion to young people who discover them. They were beautiful accident and coming together of complimentary musical talent.
I'm a metalhead through and through.......Loud and proud! But ABBA delivered the soundtrack to my early years and I will always have a soft spot for them.
Upon further review, I was mistaken. The English version was such a massive hit in Latin America and Spain that they decided to have it translated and sing it phonetically in Castillian Spanish along with several other songs on the album "Gracias por la musica", which is kind of a Greatest Hits Album translated into Spanish.
Crying is exactly how you should react to this phenomenally simple song with their harmonic voices, the guitar, drums, and then that awesome piano kickin' in at just the best moments! 🎵💙🎹
Triple guitar riff change-up in the intro, before James Hetfield growls first note in Metallica's "One" is the musical complexity to which I compare ABBA's as simple: perspective diff. ✔️
Originally, this was called "In The Arms Of Rozellita." Bjorn Ulvaeus, who wrote the song, liked the title but couldn't find a matching story, so it became "Chiquitita." ABBA performed this song in 1979 at the Music for UNICEF Concert. ABBA donated half the proceeds from the song to UNICEF. Chiquitita, in Spanish, means "Very Little Girl." To facilitate a breakthrough in South America, ABBA recorded a Spanish-language version of this song, despite the fact the band had never learned the language. The Swedes sang the song phonetically and their efforts enhanced their popularity in a number of Latin America countries. This song reached #1 in Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Rhodesia, South Africa, Spain and Switzerland. Leona Lewis performed this while she was a contestant on The X Factor (UK) in 2006. Cher covered this in 2020 as a charity single to benefit UNICEF. The veteran singer released both English and Spanish versions, marking her first single in the Spanish language.
I'm so glad you experienced the wonderful timless beautiful song from a fantastic group I was privileged to grow up with in my youth. My generation was son spoilt to have wonderful artists like this. It's so great that the internet has given you and other younger people to experience the beautiful songs of the 60's, 70's and 80's ❤

All wonderful music related to life singing totally in 5 languages (English, Swedish, Spanish, German and French).
