The contrast between Slayers as they prepare for the final showdown is instructive.
Buffy, full of dread and apprehension, steeling herself to kill Faith.
Faith, raging joyfully on the punching bag, almost orgasmic and reveling in her power.

    Best Buffy/Faith fight ever!

I never believed Faith was truly bad until she murdered poor Lester. I think that’s why they added that so that we would see her as a real villain. Part 1 I feel is always overshadowed by Part 2 cos that’s the finale. But part 1 is truly incredible. Please upload part 2 asap!

And the fact that she didn't even know or care why she was doing it but did it anyway because the mayor told her to. Buffy would never myrdyr even a demon on Giles orders without understanding the reason.

I don't know why they continue with saying Angel is around 200 years old. He went to a hell dimension where hundreds of years passed in the 3 months time that he was there.

Hands down the Buffy/Faith fight is some of the best fight choreography anywhere. And of all the male characters in the entire series, Oz is the best, (and wicked hot 🔥❤)

I low key love Faith's character so much. I'd have lived to see how she'd fare against the S5 villain

Continuity error? After the Mayor pulled out the sword. There was no hole in the shirt that I could see... No blood I can accept, his body works differently now that he's invincible - but his shirt isn't...

_buffy_ is not known for its visual continuity. honestly, it's difficult enough trying to patch together some story continuity.

Graduation Day part 1 was another brilliant episode with the Buffy and Faith fight a super climax. We can see Faith out of control committing cold blooded murder of the Professor. We now know where Faith's knife ended up with Buffy giving it back to Faith in her gut. All this leads up to the brilliant part 2. S3 was where the show really developed into a stellar series. Interesting part where Xander pays homage to Jaws ' we are gonna need a bigger boat'. This was a brilliant Season. Enjoy part 2! a super finale.

I don't think Buffy could chase the truck down from the rooftop after Faith's body because she'd just been through one of the hardest fights of her life (up to this point) and was momentarily weakened.

The mayor should have pulled a sideshow Bob from that old episode and evicted Buffy and her mom so Buffy wouldn't have been around for the ascension

SPOILERS FOR _GRADUATION DAY PART 2_
If Buffy going after Faith was about helping Angel, taking any knife (let alone Faith's knife) is not a good idea because stabbing Faith depleted the blood supply Angel needs to be cured. Faith would have little blood left by the time Buffy got her back to Angel. Buffy wanted revenge on Faith, plain and simple. It wasn't about helping Angel. She just convinced herself it was. Faith even calls Buffy on it ("Still not gonna help your boy, though") as well as calls Buffy on now being at her level ("Ya did it. Ya killed me). It doesn't matter that it does or doesn't change her once the act is committed because the change was that she was willing to commit purposed revenge in the first place. I agree with Faith in that regard, and I think Buffy makes the same realization the second she stabs Faith. Even Bel was trying to tell Buffy not to tell Buffy to feel bad because she hasn't seen part 2 and doesn't understand how much blood Angel needs. The look on her face afterword shows that realization.
I never had or understood the "sickness" of graduation. I was happy to leave. Buffy's perspective is more my understanding on it.
I hope Willow's turned eighteen at this point otherwise Oz (who was held back a year and is a year older than the rest of the group) might be jumping the gun and make himself a statutory rapist, just like Angel was in _Innocence_ with Buffy.
For a character who portrayed jolly family man a lot of the time, The Mayor knew how to pull out the suspense (his enterence into the library until threatening Buffy), flip the dime back (his reaction to Giles stabbing him) and them become threatening again (what he said and did while wiping the blade until he left). A wonderful performance by Harry Groener.

this is all very slippery, among other things because no one actually knows how much blood is necessary. one vampire way back when was recorded as completely draining a slayer and then surviving. no one performed any clinical trials with different doses.

@@sirmoonslosthismind Don't take the risks when it's someone's life. Go by what you know. Which in Buffy's case is what the book saying completely drain a slayer. Buffy wasn't worried about stabbing Faith being a bad idea, no matter how much blood Faith may have or have not lost. There were better options. Such as using the tranq gun on her. Therefore, I don't consider it a "slippery" slope at all. Stabbing Faith and taking the knife in general was about revenge. Not helping Angel. She made the realization of it just after stabbing Faith, who got to throw it in Buffy's face to coming down to her level and not helping Angel. I'm also not convinced we don't know unofficial trial were done as no other vampires survived it I take that as the possibility some tried once knowing and getting the blood of the slayer, but didn't drink enough, and that's why it's in the book as "completely drain." Watchers notes aka is the best information they have next to having no clinical trials, and the book says drain a slayer. To me, the whole idea seems so speculative (but might not be speculative at all), its not worth the risk of not doing it exactly as the book says, which Buffy didn't with Faith, by stabbing her.

i don't dispute that buffy wasn't thinking clearly, but faith was most certainly not commenting on buffy's decision making when she said "still not gonna help your boy tho". she hasn't even read whatever buffy's read. she only knows that she's about to escape. and the point at which angel gets himself under control and stops feeding isn't necessarily related to how much he needed.
"watchers notes could just as easily be the equivalent to clinical trials"

    • @Buffy8Fan
      @Buffy8Fan 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@sirmoonslosthismind Of course Faith didn't mean it that way, but considering Buffy realized what a mistake she made, Buffy would easily acknowledge Faith's comment as Faith throwing it in her face, whether she meant it that way or another way.
Equivelant is the wrong word. _The best they have_ is the right phrase I was going for with a single word instead of the phrase itself. "Fixing" the comment, as I now have, just gives a more cluttered, run-on sentence.
The book saying drain a slayer. That, combined with no other information being avaliable to The Scoobies is why I don't consider it a "slippery" slope. Add to that, even you said you can't dispute Buffy not thinking clearly. I stand with my original comment.
