- A Piper Cherokee pilot on a VFR flight plan encountered IFR weather conditions, which prevented him from landing at his desired airport. The pilot was not capable of IFR flight and assistance was provided by Air Traffic Controller and two Navy T-6B II pilots to help the pilot find an airport with favorable weather conditions.

That controller probably saved his life.
I know it is his job, but it's refreshing to hear that genuine concern in his voice.
Hats off to this controller and the Navy pals.
3FK messed up, but owned up to it and asked for help -- good for him. Everyone would rather deal with this over a crashed airplane and a dead pilot + passenger.
Straight in approach on fumes was the best idea. No need for the pattern, just like the pilot did. Good radio as well he kept it clean and precise. A happy ending is always a blessing regardless of the errors. Life happens. Everybody pulled together and made it good!
When did this happen??
On December 2021.
@@TheATCAudio ok thanks
That was definitely cutting it close on fuel.
"To the south, southeast of you, about 100 heading": is this really a SSE heading ?!
Navi huh? Use a spellcheker or an editor!
Interesting that you misspelled spellchecker yourself. Maybe you should hold your tongue rather than criticizing others. Prick.
I KNEW the Na'vi were real! 😉
Strange how he waited until 30 minutes of fuel to start thinking about alternative plans
seems to me the Piper pilot almost got himself and potentially others killed....doesnt sound like he was prepared.....preflight, weather updates, charts, nearest airports, fuel requirements...he doesnt even seem to know where he was....another vfr flight into ifr conditions by obviously a non instrument pilot. good job navy and atc...this guy was lucky. "call the tower, I have a number for you when ready'.....
