Maybe if they made the chest a bit flatter? But honestly it surprises me how long it took for Hasbro to nail a good voyager Optimus since Classics Prime till they came out with Siege and Earthrise
Here after ER Prime just got his reissue released, and I initially canceled an oeder for him because of SS86-31 But now, having ordered him again and having it in hand, I don't regret it one bit. He's super fun to.mess with and it'll make a great piece to display alongside SS86 and Missing Link!
It is a good mold but my Main issue is the materials, the plastic isn't the greatest and the paint chips way too easely. However, the Netflix versión of the momd fixes all of those issues
No, the elbows look wrong because they are wrong. Not only are the hinges way too high, but they couldnt be bothered to not make the bicep disappear when not in truck mode. The result is an elbow that doesn't achieve anything of use. Take the yolopark Megatron for example. 150 degrees of bend on a single joint, and at no point does the bicep become hidden. Not only that, but the amount of arm above the hinge is larger than the amount of arm below the hinge. This works perfectly because it is exactly how human arms work. Want an example from a transforming figure? Origins bumblebee. 135 degrees on a single joint, the bicep remains visible, and the forearm's length is not significantly longer than the combined length of the shoulder and bicep, almost like how a human arm works. So no, this is not a problem with all elbows, this is a problem with earthrise optimus specifically.
I’ve always wanted MP-10 Optimus Prime as a kid and even as an adult that figure is pricey. Then I found this figure which looks extremely similar and got it immediately. Despite my gripe with the trailer not having much detail and accessories, Earthrise Prime is a 10/10 for me.
He can hold his matrix I've got it done. When I got this Optimus I was so happy, uncle gave me some money for Christmas just last December and I found him in a thrift store. Just to perfect
In my opinion, I hate him.. but that’s just the issues I have with my specific copy and some minor nitpicks. To list: TONS of issues with QC issues like Chest never tabbed into the abdomen Knees were too loose Paint was weak Head was so loose he couldn’t ever not look down. Legs are too long.. In robot mode the hinge his arms are on rub against some silver paint on the face of the truck, which is a big potential paint chipping risk. The trailer isn’t very good. Wheels were barely connected and super wobbly His grip SUCKS, he can’t even hold his own gun without it rotating or falling out of his hand entirely.
Overrated? Nah. That’s like saying MP-10 is overrated. It’s earned its place as a classic. I see it as a mini MP-10, while the new SS86 figure is basically a mini MP-44.
I love this guy but I have a few problems with him, that’s why I’m customising mine and 3D printing him a new custom head, back pack, and leg and arm parts and slightly changing his transformation, still love him though!
He could definitely use an SS86 commander class upgrade. Kingdom Rodimus and 86 Magnus are proof of this. Personally I think he's outdated and can be WAY better. I feel like Hasbro was afraid of achieving perfection with this figure. It almost hesitates to walk past the line of greatness.
I finally got him late last year and he just didn't live up to the hype for me, like yeah he's good but he's just that, a good voyager with a box, I think optimus prime needs something with a bit more going on, I genuinely feel like the recently core class set carries the spirit of an optimus prime toy more than the earthrise leader and I hope the eventual ss86 one can do the same
To me it's overhated because in every review of this figure they've been saying they want a new mold and that they're tired of this mold. After 2-3 reuses these people were already tired of this figure. I love this figure but mine got stolen and the only ones I can find that are in the box with everything is almost $100.
@@stellarrusprime Well the Kingdom one yes but when you put into account that they reused this mold for Shattered Glass, I feel no one would really be tired of it until after a Nemesis Prime reuse then people would. But considering this mold is just so good, people wouldn't get tired of it for a while. Plus no one to my knowledge got tired of the ROTF Bumblebee mold and they've made 4 repaints of the figure. 5 if you count the N.E.S.T. version as well.
1 none of the points you brought up genuinely bothered me 2 pretty much every prime every released minus g1 has had these exact same problems as well as way worse issues
@@stellarrusprime in my opinion he is over priced and he looks weird the siege looks a lot better and that piece of kibble looks terrible and I am mostly against parts forming so in my opinion it’s 5/10
Yes it is overrated. Source: this is a voyager that made zero attempt to fill the leader price. Do not ever tell me that the boring useless rectangle is worth 20 bucks. Also his chest extends out to more thickness than the entire rest of the figure, when reactivate showed that it was more than possible to achieve the same transformation thingy without having such bad results. Maybe id be more leniant on the thing if it filled out the pricepoint with actual value instead of 5 gallons of chrome paint that they couldnt even use on the face properly, but I guess I shouldnt expect quality or value from a rushed production. The least they couldve done was make the 5mm port in the back of the matrix be actually 5mm so it could have any use in any thing ever. So yes, it is overrated. Edit: forgot to mention but WHY THE DANGLE DARN IS THE TRAILER PORT NOT WHERE THE TRAILER HITCH SHOULD BE? This is a completely new part that had preciesly zero reason to put the 5mm port between the wheels where it should be instead of directly below the way-too-high knees where it is. This toy is just the single most baffling series of objectively wrong decisions.
Yep look at the stripes they’re not even in the G1 cartoon it makes the truck look toy accurate and plus I’m tired of unlicensed ripped off cars I want real cars
