Ahhh thank you youtube for putting this in my recommendations. This was one of the sweetest reviews i’ve ever seen. The stop motion aspect is something i’ve never seen it done before and I love it!
Tbh earthrise prime is overrated. He is SUPER small and The matrix mold looks not good and the gun is stubby. And the transformation is too complex. Tbh the wheels look horrible and prime isnt painted much. The head sculpt is too acurate like uncanny valley and the matrix chamber isnt much. His wheels are just hanging off his butt like a butt flap and is 100% not removable. The transformation is so simple for my liking and they didnt even TRY to cover the feet. The finger articulation isnt individual and he has NO MOUTH MOVEMENT. The trailer sucks and is an excuse for the price. The weird gap in between the wheels and the trailer ruins it and it DOESNT COME WITH A ROLLER, AND ANTI AIRCRAFT GUN RADER, A SPIKE MINIFIGURE, A GAS HOSE OR SMTHIN, AN AXE, AND THE TRAILER DOOR BECOMES A STUPID SHIELD. Prime Cant even open his doors in his alt mode and theres a huge gap at the back of the truck. The trailer hinge is 5 milimiter which is BARELY compatible with other primes. This figure dissapointed me and Im lpoking for a better prime so i just threw away the earthrise figure. Overall 0.000001/10 it sucks

In fact, Cybertronian Transformers have really grown on me and I prefer them to earth modes. I wish that we had gotten a Wheeljack and Bee in a Cybertronian mode, even if reimagined. I dislike that Ironhide is just the Cybertronian mode with a shell on top.

@@nightlypiano41 if it shows up for a good price maybe, but here's my reasoning about why I'm not actively hunting for it 1: titan class is stupid expensive 2: a review will never cover the cost of getting one (the most a review has made is about 50% of the cost over 3 years) 3: they take up a ton of space on a shelf 4: I rarely ever get to use them after I film the review 5: filming is difficult on that scale. it's why Metro/Max/Omega had so little movement during their reviews (I.E. no ending transformation and such) reasons to get it 1: I wouldn't mind filming the season 4 Bumper he's a part of 2: he's a pretty cool figure

But I never got why people are mad about car wings or leg wheels; the whole unique thing of the toy line is that they're robots AND something else, whether car or plane or monster. I like Earthrise Prime, but ultimately I prefer Siege and Studio Series, Siege because it keeps to G1 while also doing something new, Studio Series because its a stylized G1 Prime, but I still love Earthrise Prime, probably would have loved him more if he came first, but if he did I probably wouldn't have bough those other two amazing figures, though I hope WFC Kingdom doesn't give us another Prime, you perfected if Hastak, no need to try anymore, just keep releasing this one with different decos and accessories
You might remember that i made a comment on Optimus saying "get the rest of us re-booted" and i said that cybertronians are just big metal people, when in G1 continuity they were simply smart robots who could feel pain and think for themselves. Basically, even in stories where these large boys and girls were built by the quintessons, we shouldn't see them as machines, but simply as life forms made of metal. Because minicons are so dang similar to Mega man's reploids, save for having smaller heads relative to their body's, and transform into a multiple array of tools, household appliances, vehicles and animals.

You seem to be perfectly okay with modifying your figures so I want to mention that you can remove the back half of his feet, so that he doesn't have the awkward heels sticking way back. You can't throw him at a desk and land him on his feet anymore but his balance is still pretty good, he doesn't really need the heels for most poses On a different note also related to feet, with the new simplified legs compared to Siege, I wish they would have used that extra budget and space to somehow fold his feet into his legs for alt mode. I'm sure it would have been possible, there's plenty of space there
Yeah I'm definitely picking this guy up I'm also going to make him the Ultimate Optimus I'm talking the non F upgrade kit so the trailer looks better and I get a silver roller also the Centurion pack for the Ion Blaster, axe and I can use the included blue roller for the repair drone to make it like mp44's mobile repair drone and the Matrix Workshop roller mainly used as a jetpack
Speaking of recreating the final shot of the Bumblebee movie, do you have a recommendation for the best old Camaro version of Bumblebee? I'm disappointed that there isn't at least a 3rd party MP style version somewhere. The 2007 version with all the weathering detail would be cool, but a clean brand new version would be equally cool, ngl I'd like to get one of each. EDIT: Hey, you like legos, too. Cool.
Finally got my hands on this figure, and it is as glorious. I don't think a Transformer has brought me this much nostalgic joy since the OG masterpiece Prime. I just can't put him down, can't stop transforming him back and forth to admire him from every intricate angle. Siege Megatron made me happy, but Earthrise Optimus makes me euphoric. It's almost enough to make me want to quit collecting, because I'm just not sure how anything could get better from here... or if it could, I'm not sure I could survive the overload of positive emotions for which mortal words would be insufficient to describe.
I’m so glad to see that someone agrees about how this figure looks! For the first time in AGES, we finally have a G1 styled Prime that actually looks and fits the part! (The updated version they released recently actually has an even nicer paint job in my opinion, though he doesn’t come with a trailer. Honestly though I don’t mind as his price is lower, and he looks amazing in general.)
In his original bio, prime DOES feel the pain of his trailer and roller, AND VISAVERSA, meaning roller was suffering during every fight Prime was in during g1, I can only imagine what Roller, and I guesss the trailer, we’re going through during the 86 movie, let alone when he went zombie kamikazi in season 3
I honestly adore this Optimus Prime figure, I can happily call this my definitive transforming G1 Prime, much how I consider MP-01/04 my definitive G1 Prime statue. He has problems, and mine especially came with slight shoulder deformation, and a loose shoulder port, but he still transforms without a hitch (unless you count the one for the trailer). I can honestly only say I have two complaints that aren't factory defects. The first is the shoulders. I loved posing my MP-01 to reach around his front, which unfortunately Earthrise Prime can't do. Disappointing, but far from a deal-breaker. The second issue? The back of the head. Why the heck they made the back of the head red, and painted an easily-chipped metallic blue over it is beyond me. The hands don't even have this problem for me, weirdly enough. Large portions of blue are missing from the antennas, and back of the head on mine, and that sucks horribly. I never had insentive to buy Siege prime, but just to replace the head I may find one being sold with missing parts for cheap. Besides that? Amazing figure, I couldn't recommend it more, but I will say if you don't care about the trailer, wait until the Netflix figures. There's rumor Earthrise Prime will be released without it, so if you don't mind the inevitable battle wear paint, wait it out for a better cost.
I’m personally sticking with the 35th anniversary siege version. I think siege has better proportions( I removed the kibble) and that one has much better colors IMO.
Another great buy at $12. I'm so glad I waited. Actually I didn't even know about this line of transformers until I saw them. And by that time they were 1/3 the price. And we're new at the discount store I love.
Very nice opening. Note that the Marvel comic first issue came up with good explanations for why both autobots and decipticons transformed into 1980's earth vehicles, and also a few issues later how the dinobots came to have their forms.
I’ve been waiting to hear your thoughts on this one!! Got mine a few weeks ago, it’s the G1 Prime I’ve dreamt of having minus a few small qualms. The Roller of the Legends-size IDW Optimus works as a substitute, and I managed to find the parts to build him an adequate axe. My only remaining gripe is that his face isn’t painted around his eyes like Siege Prime, so his beautiful baby blues don’t pop nearly as much.
so just a warning in case you didn't notice yet the back of earthrise prime's head is painted metalic blue why? because the back of his head is red plastic i have no clue why it just is so overtime it may scrap away the blue due to transformation which is already happening to mine and if you place siege prime's head on him the blue doesn't match the legs and will ultimately ruin the head making it very loose on siege prime that is if you pop it off and then onto earthrise as the ball joint on earthrise is too big also i'm surprised i'm not the only one with the wonky chest but with those out of the way this is a great review
You realize that without the detail on the drums, you wouldn't get any effect with the rotating cutouts? Having the molded parts achieve the desired effect (eg. inner detail) was always going to be more important than verbatim of the original.

I love this Optimus. The size of the trailer does not bother me based on appearance. It does bother me that I can only fit small figures in it.

I like Earthrise Prime, but ultimately I prefer Siege and Studio Series, Siege because it keeps to G1 while also doing something new, Studio Series because its a stylized G1 Prime, but I still love Earthrise Prime, probably would have loved him more if he came first, but if he did I probably wouldn't have bough those other two amazing figures, though I hope WFC Kingdom doesn't give us another Prime,

You might remember that i made a comment on Optimus saying "get the rest of us re-booted" and i said that cybertronians are just big metal people, when in G1 continuity they were simply smart robots who could feel pain and think for themselves.
Basically, even in stories where these large boys and girls were built by the quintessons, we shouldn't see them as machines, but simply as life forms made of metal. Because minicons are so dang similar to Mega man's reploids, save for having smaller heads relative to their body's, and transform into a multiple array of tools, household appliances, vehicles and animals.

You seem to be perfectly okay with modifying your figures so I want to mention that you can remove the back half of his feet, so that he doesn't have the awkward heels sticking way back. You can't throw him at a desk and land him on his feet anymore but his balance is still pretty good, he doesn't really need the heels for most poses
On a different note also related to feet, with the new simplified legs compared to Siege, I wish they would have used that extra budget and space to somehow fold his feet into his legs for alt mode. I'm sure it would have been possible, there's plenty of space there

Yeah I'm definitely picking this guy up I'm also going to make him the Ultimate Optimus I'm talking the non F upgrade kit so the trailer looks better and I get a silver roller also the Centurion pack for the Ion Blaster, axe and I can use the included blue roller for the repair drone to make it like mp44's mobile repair drone and the Matrix Workshop roller mainly used as a jetpack
Im not going to have him posed in vehicle mode, so I wont be getting him but I will get the R.E.D series

Speaking of recreating the final shot of the Bumblebee movie, do you have a recommendation for the best old Camaro version of Bumblebee? I'm disappointed that there isn't at least a 3rd party MP style version somewhere. The 2007 version with all the weathering detail would be cool, but a clean brand new version would be equally cool, ngl I'd like to get one of each.

Finally got my hands on this figure, and it is as glorious. I don't think a Transformer has brought me this much nostalgic joy since the OG masterpiece Prime. I just can't put him down, can't stop transforming him back and forth to admire him from every intricate angle. Siege Megatron made me happy, but Earthrise Optimus makes me euphoric.
It's almost enough to make me want to quit collecting, because I'm just not sure how anything could get better from here... or if it could, I'm not sure I could survive the overload of positive emotions for which mortal words would be insufficient to describe.

I’m so glad to see that someone agrees about how this figure looks! For the first time in AGES, we finally have a G1 styled Prime that actually looks and fits the part!
(The updated version they released recently actually has an even nicer paint job in my opinion, though he doesn’t come with a trailer. Honestly though I don’t mind as his price is lower, and he looks amazing in general.)

In his original bio, prime DOES feel the pain of his trailer and roller, AND VISAVERSA, meaning roller was suffering during every fight Prime was in during g1, I can only imagine what Roller, and I guesss the trailer, we’re going through during the 86 movie, let alone when he went zombie kamikazi in season 3

I honestly adore this Optimus Prime figure, I can happily call this my definitive transforming G1 Prime, much how I consider MP-01/04 my definitive G1 Prime statue. He has problems, and mine especially came with slight shoulder deformation, and a loose shoulder port, but he still transforms without a hitch (unless you count the one for the trailer).
I can honestly only say I have two complaints that aren't factory defects. The first is the shoulders. I loved posing my MP-01 to reach around his front, which unfortunately Earthrise Prime can't do. Disappointing, but far from a deal-breaker.
The second issue? The back of the head. Why the heck they made the back of the head red, and painted an easily-chipped metallic blue over it is beyond me. The hands don't even have this problem for me, weirdly enough. Large portions of blue are missing from the antennas, and back of the head on mine, and that sucks horribly. I never had insentive to buy Siege prime, but just to replace the head I may find one being sold with missing parts for cheap.
Besides that? Amazing figure, I couldn't recommend it more, but I will say if you don't care about the trailer, wait until the Netflix figures. There's rumor Earthrise Prime will be released without it, so if you don't mind the inevitable battle wear paint, wait it out for a better cost.
Random comment but I always thought that being rebooted as a cybertronian would be like getting your memory wiped out but I guess not
I’m personally sticking with the 35th anniversary siege version. I think siege has better proportions( I removed the kibble) and that one has much better colors IMO.

Another great buy at $12. I'm so glad I waited. Actually I didn't even know about this line of transformers until I saw them. And by that time they were 1/3 the price. And we're new at the discount store I love.
Heavy trucks can be had with air disc brakes. Drums are still more common, but there are trucks with discs.
The back wheels might be a reference to the studio ox design of optimus which puts the wheels on the back
Very nice opening. Note that the Marvel comic first issue came up with good explanations for why both autobots and decipticons transformed into 1980's earth vehicles, and also a few issues later how the dinobots came to have their forms.
I’ve been waiting to hear your thoughts on this one!! Got mine a few weeks ago, it’s the G1 Prime I’ve dreamt of having minus a few small qualms. The Roller of the Legends-size IDW Optimus works as a substitute, and I managed to find the parts to build him an adequate axe. My only remaining gripe is that his face isn’t painted around his eyes like Siege Prime, so his beautiful baby blues don’t pop nearly as much.
so just a warning in case you didn't notice yet the back of earthrise prime's head is painted metalic blue why? because the back of his head is red plastic i have no clue why it just is so overtime it may scrap away the blue due to transformation which is already happening to mine and if you place siege prime's head on him the blue doesn't match the legs and will ultimately ruin the head making it very loose on siege prime that is if you pop it off and then onto earthrise as the ball joint on earthrise is too big also i'm surprised i'm not the only one with the wonky chest but with those out of the way this is a great review

You realize that without the detail on the drums, you wouldn't get any effect with the rotating cutouts? Having the molded parts achieve the desired effect (eg. inner detail) was always going to be more important than verbatim of the original.
