You're able to use all player boards. Those that don't have an influence number printed means they have zero. Th booklet has this tidbit and Shem has confirmed this

Excellent summary!! Just got the expansion and look forward to trying it out. For solo - what are your thoughts on playing against multiple AI opponents? Should be doable, right?

so can you spend 4 influence to avoid paying the coin and the virtue on the leftmost slop of the black market, or is it always one or the other?

In that instance you would have to pay 8 influence, but as long as you have enough influence, you can reduce costs as much as you'd like.

@@TheMeepleMarathon Why 8? 2 influence to avoid one virtue loss, and 2 influence to avoid paying the single coin makes 4 influence.
