We’ve played all three co-ops and this was our least favorite. The Paladins co-op is the best in our opinion- I’d like to see how you guys like that one! Still stressful but not as punishing when it comes to completely overhauling gameplay.
The mechanism of the Overlord really wants you to diversify your actions, meaning that if you both do the same thing it will punish you more. Looks pretty interesting. You both enticed me to play the competitive Tomesaga over the 3 games (it was really fun), now you are making me want to play the coop version too😱

I know a lot of people are now requesting for you to review/play the Runesaga, but personally I think you should showcase a different Garphill game; the often overlooked Circadians: First Light. It has some mechanics in common with Architects, but it uses dice as workers instead of meeples and plays very well at 2 players. It’s definitely one of my favorites from this publisher and IMO deserves more attention than it’s been getting.
I remember if you're playing with variable setup (2nd side of the starting characters), the one with the highest virtue will go first. Moreover, no one will have extra starting coins (3, 4, 5 etc.)
I am so enjoying your videos. They are so well produced and entertaining. Have you considered using a green screen like Rahdo does to show card closeups?

Well, after watching your playthroughs I bought the whole West Kingdom trilogy, and now I'll have to pick up the tomesaga. I'm not sure I'm sold on age of artisans just yet... I'll have to look into it.

I like the coop idea, especially the "share" action...(it wasnt called share was it?), but i could not figure out any way to combat the Overlord. he just took a broom and swept the board clean. Are there other "overlords" which have different play styles / mechanisms?
Yes! I love Architects and received Age of Artisans this week in the mail. Won't be playing with the Tomesaga (yet!), but nice to see the expansion in play.
34:46 since you already have a worker in the workshop when you placed another, you can buy the second card, meaning you only have to place a silver on that card to buy the next one. You can already skip the first card because you have 2 workers.
This was really amazing, as I expected :) I did try this, but I did the wrong thing as it was my first play ever, so as one can expect, I got wrecked. I did make it harder on me (as did you) after I didn’t realise that the Overlord doesn’t count as a player for the purposes of Guild Hall and some of his scheme cards. So now you can brag that you built the co-op scenario on hard mode :) I’d real,y love if you could try the two other games in co-op mode, whenever you can, of course. Once again, this was truly great :)
Slightly unrelated to this game play... (which was fascinating and I need this expansion now) Are there any details on Naveen's shirt? haha. I love it.

I love the expansion content for architects but as you can see the overlord can be brutal 😵💫

Viscounts + coop is stressful also. Plays like Pandemic because you need to stop overlords' workers to run into the centre of the castle.

There is a coop of Paladins by Shem and his designer partner. It was interesting.
We will likely play that sometime down the road, although not likely to film it due to other projects/priorities.

According to the timestaps - this is quite a long player setup 8)
You made the game harder for yourselves, the Overlord doesn’t count as a player in the Guildhall.
He counts as a player with Solo, does he not place there in 3p? Seems wrong
wow, the coop mode does not look fun. and there seems to be almost nothing you can do to hinder or mitigate the overlords actions.
It was so dang stressful!! That Overlord is absolutely brutal. We were willing to work for the man, but he kept just beating us down LOL.

Since you first started the serie I bought Architects, and after one game I jumped on the extention and now I just want everything West Kingdom.
We were pleasantly surprised by all 3 games. We will be keeping all of them in the collection!
Kickstarter ends soon, but I am picking up everything! (would've been gone for North Sea too if they offered it haha)

No unfortunately not, we have commitments to a lot of other projects. Possibly sometime way down the road though.
