Thanks for the tips and what cards to get but that food tip was extremely wrong.

I love Ryan Laukat games, and this is another good one. My game group played it just last night. We had a blast. I was surprised that all three of us managed to make it to town. I only made it because I drew the perfect card in the last turn to give me an extra move.

Great video. Your solution seems to fit more than the folded space insert. I’ve actually been looking for a reboxing that showcased the folded space insert. It was an odd design choice to build it without consideration for the larger bits and boards.

I’m huge on Runebound, absolutely love it. I feel like I could really like this, but it has virtually no art. I see no readily accessible character art, no item art, not even any enemy art. That’s crazy to me. Not like I need to get super involved in themes or anything, but with pretty much no art, it just plays out like a numbers game without as much soul as it really could have. Hopefully future editions can fix that.

I think the points you make are very fair. As a solo game, it really is a pure race to 20, but against an enemy who has overstatted and more powerful cards than you do. Board control is mostly to mitigate her reaching 40 lore. In a single player game it's not as relevant, but when you're playing a multiplayer game, it's vital. Since EVERY player has to reach 20 lore before Ursula reaches 40 lore. So you might be at 17 lore, but your ally is only at 3. So you can start to use the Battleground abilities to help them stabilize, use your characters to challenge Ursula's, and generally control the board for long enough that they can catch up to you.

Thanks for the great playthrough! Items' use has been clarified in the latest rulebook: "Items give new actions that a Legend can perform and are discarded after use". So these are single-shot use.

I recall during the campaign someone mentioned this can be merged with the return of sinister six. Any idea actually how to do it? Judging by the content I don’t actually get how sinister six could be extended here

I’ve been having a hard time figuring out which equipment cards come in which box. It seems this box has equipment of course multiverse heroes in this box, then also equipment for the original marvel united core box and X-men core box. I guess that means the multiverse promo box has some equipment for past promo or expansion heroes? None of them seem available to purchase separately unfortunately.

I really do't understand the decision to NOT include inserts when the first 2 games came with excellent custom ones. It's really breaking the continuity in the trilogy and pushing buyers to scramble for storage solutions. Just a shitty shitty decision from Garphil Games.

Other than that one thing, this is a good tutorial!

You need to resolve the dice effects before the damage and defense....its important cause the order matters with some abilities and monsters

Bard is a massive buff for a 4+group as I played it. Tenacity Ballad is okay for team level 1-2, then the main song from team lv 3 should be Bolero as it helps ignore one blue die. With the sequence EEGEE you can get 3 turns with the song without moving notes. Also this syncs well with serenade of calmness(always 2 notes to choose). As a full support caracter you should choose serenade and instrument prof. From level 8 onwards, the best song is One-man Band(BEE)(sequence:EEBEE), which gives +1 sword and +1 shield for each instrument you have. Usually at level 8 you should at least have all 4 basic instruments, and sometimes 1-2 instruments of the 3 sets, which means that song should give everyone at least +4 sword and +4 shield). +4swords on average = 2 orange dice, and +4shield in general =2 green def dice (and even stronger when more instruments) Please use instrument proficiency because you can equip 1 more instrument on your body(and later it gives a yellow die on lv4, orange die on 6). You only have 7 slots but you need spaces for the rewards and for MANA POTIONS.(Please bring as many mana potions as you can) You can occasionally attacks the emy once you have the buff of one-man bard(but before that plz don't). A supporting bard is the weakest around level 4-6. (No attack buffs for team, songs are weak, serenade not strong enough yet) At lv6 your instrument proficiency gives you an orange die which helps your attack.(but you will not prefer attack in most cases) At lv7 serenade can remove all fire and ice, which is a huge effect At lv8 unlocks one-man band. Level 9 and 10 don't really change anything.(My buff already works well for my lv10 team though I am only lv8)

In 34:00, you mentioned that if there is a tie, you can choose. However, that is not correct. You must use the compass symbol, starting to the east and then going clockwise until you find one of your allies. The enemy will approach that ally. But accidentaly it is the mage, so no difference ind the gameplay.

I'm a little bit confused is this a how to play or a review? Giving your opinion on things you don't like about the game to people that are trying to learn it who most probably already have the game doesn't make any sense.

I “spend” her ink like a player. I play the cards in order, and if I run out of her ink, the cards get discarded. Helps mitigate playing a lot of really powerful cards!

Hello! I also kickstarted this Emerald Edition and happened to watch this unboxing video while I impatiently waited. That’s when I heard you mention playing solo. I immediately wondered if it was my variant that I put up long ago. So I chased your older playthroughs and sure enough, that’s my variant! I was so excited to find that you had done playthroughs using it, as I need to watch refreshers to remember the variant myself. 😂 The Emerald version has really rekindled my love for the game and realize how much I missed it. Excited to dive back in, pun intended. I’m looking forward to dusting off the old solo variant and seeing if it works with the new emeralds.
