- Pastor and evangelist Greg Laurie sits down with Academy Award-winning director, actor, and producer Mel Gibson. In this wide-ranging interview, Greg Laurie discusses Gibson's film Hacksaw Ridge, which is about WWII hero Desmond Doss. Doss was a Medal of Honor recipient whose faith in God carried him through the war. Gibson also discusses how his faith impacts his filmmaking and he teases the announcement that he is starting work on The Passion of the Christ 2, the sequel to the worldwide smash hit The Passion of the Christ. It is to be written by Randall Wallace, the screenwriter of Braveheart and director of We Were Soldiers and Heaven Is for Real.

I would say Mel cries a lot about the evil in this world we live in , I do , it’s only through the love and faith we have in Jesus Christ can keep us sane , those who feel deep compassion are suffering all the time seeing all the cruelty that’s inflicted upon humans and animals , I became vegan many years ago because I saw it as evil to enslave animals , as Jesus was know as the lamb of God , and through him ends all sacrifice, my faith will not die in my love for Jesus ,he’s my rock 🙏✌️🌱x
I love pastor Greg laurie,but I'm concerned about his mainstream presentations and possibly his hidden agenda. I'm not saying there is one, because his faith and message is genuine and tested true. I'm praying for his ministry world harvest accomplishes all God has planned and planted for him

So Jim got a taste of what Jesus sounded like and probably utilized his voice so you can see and hear Christ in his role not Jim the actor. No one can predict the amount of money any movie will make. With that saying, God knew that Mel would be outcast by the movie industry so he made it happen for Mel and other actors involved too to make enough money to live by till his come back. How he was treated how can u not call that a tragedy, yes he was sacrificed for all of God children and and that saved us but the torture he went through is so heartbreaking, idk how bad it will be on us but I think all Christians within the next 10 yrs is about to I’m still a little confused on the rapture as I just came back to God in November 2019 I pulled away from him at 14 so somethings I remember and understand and somethings I don’t , I think we will all be here when the anti christ takes off but praying and thinking he will come get us before the hell on earth , my confusion is the mark of the beast and the torture to Christians if we are raptured up , we couldn’t go through that ! I remember going to the movie in 2004 and after the movie everyone was in tears and gave to movie a standing ovation!! There were people preaching out the gospel! It was a great experience!!!

I want to personally thank Mel for making this film. He has no idea how that film changed my life. I watched passion alone in my living room and God used it to open my eyes to His truth. That day, when the film was over, I accepted Christ. I gave Him my life and everything in it and I’ve never looked back. The film was a real look and what Christ went through for me. Oftentimes we have a benign view of His suffering and fail to really understand the pain, suffering, sacrifice he willing accepted to save us and give us life. I will forever be changed and thank you Mel for allowing God to use you and your gifts to reach out to me and save my life!

Mel, you are genius. Your passion is evident in the three films you produced and directed. You new movie, Hacksaw Ridge, has received critical acclaim. You go against the grain, you don't sail along with it. God is on your side, because you speak for God which is not popular. I'm writing from Gabon, Africa and i praise God for Mel Gibson. His moovie the passion of Christ has truly touched my life and i have no doubt God used him and still using him. Just praying for him and his faith. Men like him are so rare.
I know that Mel is a Catholic. I just hope and pray he is born-again and he is truly saved. At any rate, the Passion of the Christ was and is one of the greatest films ever made. Three films that stand out to me from brother Gibson, Braveheart, The Passion of The Christ, and one called Signs.
I love the Patriot as well. I also just noticed he is a man of faith in all of them.
The Patriot portrays Mel Gibson as a devout Christian as well as The Passion of The Christ and Braveheart.
In We were soldiers he was also very faithful. Great movies.
I'll never forget being in the theater watching the Passion... two young men in front of me came in with popcorn and soda; while there was a woman weeping behind me.
What a wonderful interview. I'm surprised I have not seen it before... once I turned to Jesus and turned from sin and am seeking to better my life and be free of sin... I now find this.

Mel struggles with his own demons just like the rest of us, but you can tell in his older age how badly those drugs affected him from his younger years of abuse. Prayers he stays away from drugs and continues to create films that plant a seed and help lead people to God :)
