    Mel Gibson is one of the greatest actors of the last 40 years. Without question. He is also one of the greatest directors. His drunken rant and subsequent fall from grace will never diminish his many artistic highs. After all, we've all made fools of ourselves when inebriated. Only the weak judge. I'm delighted to see Mel on top form again.

    Mel Gibson gave the world "The Passion of the Christ" 19 years ago and still resonates. Nothing negative before that matters.

    • @hoover728
      @hoover728 ปีที่แล้ว

      What about the negative that happened since then, like being charged for assaulting his girlfriend in 2010, breaking her tooth and giving her a concussion?

    • @Pbadome1
      @Pbadome1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hoover728 Interestingly, Whoopi Goldberg and Jodie Foster continue to defend him.
      As for being charged with assault, yes he was charged with misdemeanor battery, her word against his, paid $570 and some community service.
      Being charged and being guilty are two very separate things.
      Hollywood adored Harvey Weinstein and a standing ovation for Roman Polanski, so that's a very strange industry.
      But, to your point, I will agree that Gibson seems to be bipolar and yet this man gave the world The Passion of the Christ.

    • @hoover728
      @hoover728 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Pbadome1 Passion of the Christ had its moments but by starting Jesus' story where it did, with no context of his joyful & beautiful life, ministry, healings, and fellowship with his friends, it devolved into torture porn. Gibson indulging his own guilty neuroses with underpinnings of antisemitism.

    • @Pbadome1
      @Pbadome1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hoover728 I don't think we were of the same mind when we both saw this film.
      The flashbacks of his happiness and relationship with his mother were clear.
      If people don't know the story of Christ well, that's what google is for.
      This movie was called the Passion in reference to the term “passion” as used in Acts 1:3 to illustrate the crucifixion of Christ.
      This was not a full blown documentary of birth to the cross, but the moment in time when Christ suffered for our sins.
      Everything else you referenced is simply your opinion of Mel Gibson.
      Mel Gibson gave the world "The Passion of the Christ", perhaps you might google what the reference is. But you won't.

That does not, however, diminish his ability to act on camera and produce an extraordinary piece of work in film.

    I have always been a Mel Gibson fan. Sure, he stepped on himself and he has his own “boulder” to carry but who who hasn’t and who doesn’t? If you raise your hand in answer to that question I feel for you. Your day is coming. He picked himself up, he brushed himself off, he showed us his soft underbelly. I respect him enormously. I thankful for sharing his incredible gifts with us. I wish him the very best. I hope he knows he has nothing to prove to anyone and can find respite if he hasn’t already. He has a depth to him that resonates like an echo chamber. I look forward to enjoying many more of his masterpieces. In closing I would just like to say: “FREEEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!

    He seems to have tried hard to become a better dad, a better husband and overall a better and just human being. He fought, struggled, fell and got up to say sorry to some he hurt, but never did it with bad intentions. He have seen unjust behavior and manners and wanted to speak out. Now, he knows that if you cannot handle bad stuff around you, it can eat you alive.
