    Midhalla is a cooperative dungeoncrawler that focuses on strategic hero mechanics, tower defense elements, and a character-centered story. The game follows the story of Harkon, a newly trained Viking warrior as he faces the invading demon hordes. At the core of Midhalla's gameplay is a strategic hero combat mechanic that eliminates randomness and focuses on complex strategy. Players invest resources to build traps between combat phases to prepare for the incoming waves of enemies. The game also features a story-based exploration system that allows players to follow Harkon's journey and unlock additional lore as well as new gameplay elements as they progress. The campaign and all scenarios are fully replayable, with different classes, skills, events and varying enemy setup.

    5.0 - My absolutely favorite games. You can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
    4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
    4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
    3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
    3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.
    2.5 - A game I'd play again , but will never suggest it myself
    2.0 - A game I don't want to play again
    1.5 - A game I can't find any reason to recommend
    1.0 - A game that is just bad.

    Yeah I'm backing, game is very unique. I have several tower defense games but not ones that are campaign games.

    Reasonable to say that this type of game needs to be evaluated with the full experience that offers.
    But I don't get how some work placement board games are always the same as how they run... The same comment is applicable everywhere... I think it is just a matter of what you like to play

      What do you mean the same?

      @@BoardGameComost of the work placement game what you need to do in the first/second round are the same action
      ... Moving some place, collecting something... building something... upgrading something else. All the games at the end have a kind of a loop/repetition. I suppose it is about what the player likes to repeat over and over.
      Example: I like a lot Aeon's end... Even changing the character, nemesis at the end the first 2-3 rounds follow almost the same action in different match because you have the start card and the game needs to... Warm up.
      The thinks is that even that repetition is ok for me and maybe is about the type of game. I get way more bored to repeat the same action in a work placement game

    Have to say squarish standees is really bad aesthetic makes enemies look sll the same. Adventure tactics has the best standees Ive seen. Even gloomhaven avoided blocky standees.

    The internet has ruined the term "mid" for me; until I saw the title on the box, I thought you were joking that the game was "just ok." 😀

      @john9801 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Somehow it sounds a little similar to Middara, which I think is a better "dungeon crawler".
      Midhalla looks like it won't be able to stay entertaining for long.

    • @eikejmeyer
      @eikejmeyer 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Midhalla actually is a made up word of Midgard and Valhalla, both of which are terms from Norse mythology. Somehow I have not yet crossed paths with the "mid" thing on the internet. Maybe I'm getting old 😂

      @@john9801yes but for Middara you need to pay way more just for the first act... They are on a different chart...
