  • Our tenants did a moonlight flit so we weren't sure what state the flat would be in. It seems they didn't understand the concept of cleaning as it looks like nothing was ever cleaned in the 18 months they lived there.

    Like you said, it may not have been their house, but it was their home; living in filth teaching children it's acceptable.

    That is to do with ventilation you should have air bricks in there ,If you are renting they will not pay for that electric ventilation to be on most the time . and that is costing them .The flat looks damp and thus putting anything up against the wall will draw damp and it looks like they used Masonry paint to stop the damp and mold forming .and i guess thats why they only stayed a short time

      They were there for 2 years. Never had a problem with any other tenants. These ones showered, cooked, dried washing without ever opening any windows, despite us asking them to do so many times. The PIV system is added to all our properties, I guess we should hard-wire it so it can't be turned off.

    What on earth were they cooking, to get all that grease on the units, and even on the ceiling?

      They probably gave up caring because of the damp issues in that flat!

    That looks like a lot of damp. No heating been on. Furniture against walls has restricted airflow so the damp has gotten worse in those areas. This property should not be rented until the damp course has been remedied.

      The building has no problems, it's just the tenant's lifestyle that causes this

      @@MyPropertyChannelNo its not! It's your responsibility as a landlord to make sure your property is well insulated and ventilated against the damp! Tenants can, and should, report you for this, you will end up with a fine!

      @@Janz32 You are very wrong. When one rents to adults there is an expectation that these people will behave like adults. There were children in there and this is the way they raise them?! When does personal responsibility come into play? They were parasites. They were lousy tenants and are lousy people! I have lived in apartments most of my life and never ever lived like that! 😡

    my friend,s house is worse than that, I asked her why doesn't she clean up and her reply was, it's ok as it is, and my thoughts was ok if you want to live in grime, I've offered to clean for her and she isn't bothered, she likes her grime, some people just don't want help.

    The fact that they had children in there is really disturbing. In the past I have used vinegar and baking soda to remove that level of grease...spray vinegar and then apply baking soda..it's the same way I clean the oven.. Bleach also is good but it is harsh ....

    Wow that flat has serious damp issues! Are all the walls where the damp is exterior walls? If so, the walls need insulation! Its unfair on the paying tenant not to be able to put furniture against the walls because of the damp issues, it is your responsibility as a landlord to make sure your properties are well insulated and ventilated! Maybe this is why the tenants left!

      No other tenant has had any problems, so can only put it down to the tenant's lifestyle of not heating or ventilating the property, but trying to dry loads of clothes indoors, when there is a garden and line to dry clothes outside

  • @donnapalaussie19
    @donnapalaussie19 หลายเดือนก่อน

    In all fairness, thats mould and caused by rising damp or leaking roof/gutters or all of the above. The tenants should have bought it to your attention. The kitchen on the other hand is pretty rank and it doesn’t look like it’s been maintained at all. Hope their rental bond covers the cost of cleaning and painting but I doubt it.

    • @MyPropertyChannel
      @MyPropertyChannel  หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, there are no problems with the building, as no previous tenant has had any issues like this.
      If the tenants have two showers in the morning then hang their washing indoors to dry, then turn off the heating and go to work leaving the place sealed up all day, then that is perfect for mould growth.
