This is from online concert Feb. 11, 2021. Saiki talked about the struggles of the band over the past year. Saiki: We were supposed to meet you today. For the first time in a year, we thought we could meet you all, those of you who could come to see us, but we can’t meet you in the end. I’m sorry. Even though it’s not my fault. We have been having days of turmoil for about a year. In the beginning, we were very surprised because we hadn’t experienced it before, and we had no experience of not being able to meet others in person. We were sad, but we found we shouldn’t be sad in this situation. When I saw you masters and princesses on social media, you were more depressed than us, and we thought that’s terrible. We Band-Maid have been thinking about how to cheer up all of you in the last one year. We truly wanted to meet you at Nippon Budokan, but it’s impossible because of COVID, so let’s wait for the day when we can meet. And in the last one year… or in the COVID pandemic, we have become more eager to cheer you up, and we Band-Maid realized again it’s important to give our songs to you. That’s why we wrote this song for Budokan. We made the album also in the pandemic, so it might have a little similar feel, but this song is planned for Nippon Budokan, and we really want to give it to you masters and princesses now. Budokan is not our goal but just a stepping stone. We will perform at bigger venues, and we promise we will bring you there and give you even better songs, so let’s keep it up a little more. This is our present for you masters and princesses. Please listen to it.
Wow, thats pretty cool. I really impressed with the "chilled" feel I got from it. I love the normal Jab of adrelin feeling I normally get with them, but this was just so different but at the same time still felt right if you know what i mean

I really am enjoying it. Even though I really enjoy the High Energy stuff they do, I new they were not limited to just that but this hit me a little different. I really enjoyed it.
A lot of people, when they first discover BandMaid do so through one of their faster-paced songs, however, BandMaid has a wide range of different tempo songs, with different influences. Whatever they release, its always top-notch, IMO. They never cease to amaze me.
Fell in love with the Band during the first lockdown in the UK. They can play any genre of music and make it meaningful and fun. Watched the live concert many times while it was available. Don't know what it is but they make this old rock music fan just happy to listen to them.
This song made simply to express their gratitude for the fan who keeps support them regardless couldn't meet because of Covid-19. It's not for showing off their ability or commercial.
Hey sorry if my words came across the wrong way, when I used the term Flex, I didn't intend it as "to show off" but more of a here's something else that we can do for you the fans. Eitherway it's awesome that they would do something like that, and i was really REALLY enjoying it.
@@CUTnPASTEreacts Nah, I don't think anybody took it that way. I do think maybe we should come up with a set of pre-reaction instructions though - half kidding there, but it does help a lot if you know the back story, and that English translation of what Saiki said before this song.
@@Kevin6059 It's true. If everyone who saw this video heard the speech Saiki gave just before they played the song, their hearts would melt completely. Unfortunately, I`m afraid most non-fans would probably not sit through a speech before the song (especially in Japanese). Oh well, they will all understand afterwards if they read the comments.
"About Us", in the vein of other great mid-tempo Band-Maid songs like Daydreaming, Anemone, Endless Story, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage and Smile, is an amazing song and personal message to their fans - a direction I'm glad to see them add to their journey toward world domination. There are live performances of the latest 10 songs. "about Us" is a pre-delivery.
I love this song. There is good bass work going on it’s just not in the forefront like normal. Also the guitar work Konami does is great. Normally the guitar is tuned in a way that just stands out.. in this song the awesome runs are still there but it’s tuned to be subtle. If you listen to her play in the course you will hear some good stuff. The vocals are in the front by design and both ladies were amazing.
Yeah, thats one of things i really enjoyed about it, All the skills in the instruments were there, but just composed in away that you had to listen for it, instead of it being right up in your face.
It's a ballad dude. It's a song for us. They have great ballads like Daydreaming, Page & Endless Story. Play acoustic and Anemone. About Us is probably their most emotional.
I've heard some of their other ballads, but something about this just hit me a bit different. It had more of a pop feel intertwined within the ballad than their other works. I was really enjoying it.
I just hope you don't get it wrong, they are not trying to show off their musical talents, just sending their sincere appreciation to us Maidiacs. This piece was written and supposed to be premiered in their very first Budokan live scheduled on Feb. 11th.
Yeah I didn't mean it as showing off, Someone else made a comment about what I said earlier. When i used the word Flex, I didn't intend it in the normal, Showing off Way, like Flexing a Rolex. I meant more like I showing you guys another style of what we do. I just chose my words poorly. I felt like with the new album and changing the label, they are really showing us more of what they are capable off instead of just being the high energy group that I originally knew them as. (which I still love)
It's about you, me, them, everyone. It's selfless, Po! They just miss us, Po! They are showing some signs of a "guttural soulfulness." You can see it in Miku's face during the outro, Po! I hope I have enough digits in my life to see them reach the actuality of soulfulness, Po! Of course, Kanami "blues" shredding the whole time (right ear), and Misa doing Misa things, Po!
@@CUTnPASTEreacts not that they used to make music together but Miku was a jpop idol, and Kanami was a pop singer song writer, also Kanami has side projects with some other bands, pop artists mostly,
@@RudiTheMan Yup. The only folks who say this is "different" or "not something I would normally expect" has only superficially listened to their catalogue. Band-Maid has many songs like this: Daydreaming, Anemonea, Endless Story, Wonderland, etc.

I think some people will be offended by the fact that you put the track in the pop category, although I agree with you in part. Genres don't matter to me anyway if the song is good. A more 'typical' high energy song that we are used to from the ladies would just be inappropriate for this I think. The more restrained and soulful, but still very detailed instrumentation with the voices in the foreground are the best way to get the meaning and content of the song across. And even if it goes a bit in the pop direction, the ladies show many others out there how to do it right. I don't know where this comes from, but somehow I wonder now, how the song could sound in a remixed version. 😂👍 【 'Our rock never dies ever, forever!' - Band-Maid 】
Yeah I totally messed up with that, I didn't mean to say this song was a Pop song, I really meant to say that there was some Pop vibes in it which made it a really unique song from them, at least to me. But yeah I definitely received some commentary about calling the song a Pop song. I won't be making that mistake at again 😁😁✌✌ but there is something so different about this song that really had me vibing with it. And I have to agree with the way the music was composed, all the intricate skills they normally show off on all their instruments were there, just composed in a way that it didn't really get above the vocals so you had to really listen for it to catch that it was there. I loved that from them.

I did miss the mark, but not in the way you're thinking. I didn;t use the right words to say what I meant unfortunately, I wasn't trying to say they were being comercial. I meant this style of music that I have never really heard from them was of the quality that could be used in big a commerical, it was more if a vibing feel to it thank the in your face high energy feel that I normally get from them. I feel bad that it came across that way, the last thing I would ever call BandMaid is commercial they really aren't. Sorry for that. I will definitley try to be clearer in the future. ✌✌

There was definitley some Pop (style) in the song. And to be honest, it's one of things I really liked about it. It was just different enough to not be like the other ballads they did. Something truly unique for their fans. Now I hope You didn't take it as me saying they were making Pop music, becasue that wasn't my intent at all.
