That is true. However I believe this song is also addressing people who were not Maidiacs yet. As you can hear, Saiki is sinking "accept someone for who they are" at 02:33 in your video. Then I went to see their concert in Tokyo on Sep.7 last year as my first experience of B-M show. When "About Us" was played at the venue, it made me feel that I was accepted as a newbie fan. Then I went to see Jan.9 concert this year at 8,000 capacity venue and I have tickets to forthcoming shows at two venues (including one with 17,000 capacity). FYI : B-M released a song last February that was inspired by warmhearted welcome by American fans during their 2022 US tour.
"About Us", in the vein of other great mid-tempo Band-Maid songs like Daydreaming, Anemone, Endless Story, Memorable, PAGE, Wonderland, Awkward, Start Over, Mirage, At the Drop of a Hat and Smile, is an amazing song and personal message to their fans - a direction I'm glad to see them add to their journey toward world domination. And we get to hear MISA play the vibe she so enjoys. Their beautiful DVD/BD/CD set with 100 page picture book of this incredible concert is unbelievable! Thanks Zooty, for bringing "About Us" to your viewers!
Proof that Band-Maid doesn't always run hard with their asses on fire....and can produce tear jerking ballads. We Maidiacs were around when this came out. This was a PPV performance that came out during the plandemic , a very dark time in our existence. We were locked down by tyrannical governments and were at a very low time, psychologically. Band-Maid was there to prop us up by defying all this and giving us hope by never stalling and driving forward, producing new music and performances while other groups laid down, conformed and died. I can never listen to this song without shedding a tear because of their courage to defy the norm. This song will always be close to my heart until I breath no more. Band-Maid isn't just about music.......

I recommend you check out another all female Japanese band called Gacharic Spin. The song Tamashii, live version. It displays their energy on stage. Following the live version react to them playing the same song on toy instruments. They are an amazingly talented band.
MISA usually plays barefooted, and she always wears black. She also enjoys playing First Person Shooter games. But the real reason is she has a Cleft Chin. So the others call her Ass Chin.

Saiki and Miku both have wonderful voices. When they sing together, like in this song and "Blooming", it's magical.
