@@ericmondello3880 so lucky to see his last full show. It is sad .but you'll always have that awesome concert memory especially on halloween.man if give an arm and leg for that experience
I'm so fucking upset about what happened to Dime. I'll never get over it. It's been over 14 years, and I still get pissed about it. Life isn't FUCKING fair sometimes, man. Rest easy, Abbott brothers. You are sorely missed...
Man it's 2017 and I'm still rocking out to this. Just saw this video and it's amazing how great they sounded live. I know people in the comments dogging the singer for how he pumps the crowd up and it's kinda pathetic. The dude wasn't used to being a singer or front man in a group, and instantly he was with one of the most beloved guitar players to ever play metal music, so I'm sure he had enough pressure living up to that alone. He plays guitar and has played for kill switch engage more than a few times when they needed someone to fill in for a brief period, so that tells you he prolly wasn't used to being a frontman. Either way he sounds amazing along with the whole band. It's a damn shame what happened to dimebag. I would have loved to see how this band would have progressed after new found power. I think they'd still be relevant today if he was still alive, and I'd also bet pantera would have made another album or even had a tour eventually. Sad to think what could have been for damageplan and sad to think about how it all ended.
NY Devil they didn’t plan to damage Phil’s career at all. Phil damaged his own career by breaking off all contact to either of them. And then just joining his own band. Which in turn dime and vin made their own band to have someone to play with and still be going. Because they couldn’t get pantera back together. But yes I agree pantera breaking did kill Dimebag. But it wasn’t dimes fault pantera broke.
Jordan Hitt dime told him “i know you jam guitar but we need your pipes.. i got the guitar parts covered. You in?” Lol dude was raw as fuck. But pantera was done.. they said that in an interview.. vinnie said he and dime dont look back and were totally committed to damageplan and they had absolutely NO intention of getting pantera back together for reunions. Lol he was pretty blunt about it and Dime must have felt the same way because he didnt say anything. Lol which sucks because pantera was the greatest band on the fucking planet. Most shit came out of california in the 90s and here these guys are coming out of nowhere topping the charts with real shit from texas. You gotta love em.. getcha pull!
NY Devil no.. what pissed vinnie off was when phil said in an interview “dimebag deserves to be badly beaten” or some shit and a week later he gets assassinated on stage. Its too coincidental.. Phil destroyed his own career because he was UNREACHABLE and vinnie and dime couldnt continue to attempt to try to get ahold of him because it was obvious that he didnt want to be reached. Its nobodies fault except nathan gale. Nathan killed dime. Not phil. Not the breakup of pantera. A psychotic “fan” who claimed pantera stole his lyrics. The killer deserved what he got.. he not only killed Dime but he did shoot and kill a fan or two and injured others. So this man was out for cold blood..
I'm pretty sure I was there! It was Pat's birthday and they brought out cake that they threw into the crowd! Man I'm so happy I got to see Dime play live! Such an electric guitar player!!!
I'm glad the cop shot the murderer dead though. Still the most shocking thing I heard on live TV. It seems like just yesterday, but it's been almost 17 years. I was only 19 then, so I sadly missed out on seeing him.
Damageplan had so much talent and potential, watching this sends chills up my spine. Can't wait for vinnie to put out the second damageplan record. He will do it when the time is right :)
Wow!!! What a great live performance!!! I notice a lot of times heavy singers sometimes peter out live, but he totally rocked with Dime, Vinnie, and Bob.
i get tired of being sad and upset about dimebag..the fact that he is gone and literally dosent exist anymore “physically” hurts me so much..I wanna see dimebag as an old man jamming out with phil and rex and of course vinnie..💔..I love pantera and I love dimebag he has brought me nothing but joy and motivation to keep going and getting better and not only guitar but as a person..R.I.P Diamond darrell and Vinne paul..I will carry your guys flag till the day i Die….You will never be forgotten..Ever!!!!
could see the flames coming out frm that solo. This song is awsome. This band is often overlooked because of their short time active, pantera and the 2000's were(are)not a great time for metal music. But giving them the right time, like the late 80's - early 90's, enough time to make some 3 albums and make a name big enough to make people actually listen to them, instead of listening to "the new band of the late pantera members", and you could actually expect to have a band just as great and renowned. The raw material for it they had, and the onset of undeniable greatness is already there to prove.
Such a shame that dude was killed. Just imagine the music we would’ve had for the past 20 years. I sure hope Diamond’s rocking out wherever his soul Journeyed to.
MA1D3N TM it’s not nu metal. It’s closer to Alice In Chains than it is Limp Bizkit. Dimes solo alone disqualified it as nu metal. It’s metal with groove. And it’s bad ass.

GUYS! we can be sad that he died or happy that he lived, sure im upset that dimebag was killed, but god blessed us by giving us a guitarist THIS good, im tired of reading negative comments about dimebags death, why dont I ever see comments like: DIMEBAG FOREVER!!!!!!! copy and paste this to every dimebag vidoe so this will stop, I'm sure that Dimebag will love it much more if we all forget about the murder and just be happy that he lived..... i love pantera, i love damageplan...but ive honestly never seen this video, this is just amazing:) its uplifting but at the same time a bit depressing. only because i see what ONCE WAS...if anyone knows what i mean:(
I like Phil's other bands (like Arson Anthem and Superjoint) way more than I like Damageplan, but not nearly as much as I like Pantera. I think Phil's attitude, his seriousness and discipline combined with Dime's guitar playing and open mindedness and far-outness is what made Pantera great, and neither was as good without the other.
I typically would not respond to 13 year old posts. But you nailed it man. They were both heavier hitters, it was to giant to keep contained! Sad how it all ended.

Rabbit - heh, now I'm sorry I made that nasty comment. I totally respect your opinion and pretty much agree. I personally didn't like Damageplan and thought it sounded nu-metalish, but I still loved Dime's stuff. This song is actually alright, probably the best DP song. It just bugs me, because (probably like you) I was actually in the pit for tons of Pantera shows going back to 1992, and to hear from all these clueless kids that Damageplan and Hell Yeah is the legacy of that makes me shudder.

It’s such a simple riff but he does it so flawlessly
man the vocalist was sooo good live, sings even better than the record!
Man been almost 19 years since we lost Dime and seems like yesterday. Always a Legend!
MISS YOU DIMEBAG :(

He played with Rob Halford's solo band too. I try to think of that instead.
2022 here

THIS band was going to be the revolution of the 20's metal... god damn it.
If dime didn't get shot imagine Corey Taylor fronting damageplan the song "fuck you" blew me away pat wasn't bad but he wasn't really good either
That would have sucked@@kylegroover1655
Still can't believe someone murdered this great, innovative player.

I really wish that Dime was still here and this band could of continued on. They really could made much more awesome fucking music.
A band that could have given more and gone very far, but fate was very cruel, the Abbott brothers are no longer alone, this memory remains

16 years 😭
🖤
@MegadethFan27 yea but he's said that there's finished material waiting to be mixed.
His guitar, paint work is influenced by Randy Rhoads so cool to see that.
It has nothing to do with a RR guitar
Mert Akçer the white polka dot on black guitar is inspired by Randy's guitars
Florin Petrut not white polka dots. Thats the way the light was playong off the guitar.
