That bone crushing grind. Dime was the man. I have a Dime story. My cuz and I went to Bogarts to see Pantera, Suicidal Tendencies, and Exodus. Pantera opened the show but we had never heard of them. They rocked the house man. Anyways when Exodus took the stage we in the pit and I looked over at the guy moshing with me and it was Dime! He wasn't famous back then but it's still a good story.
I love how Dime always taught how to play his shit. He had a column in Guitar World magazine every month that had all the tabs written out for his stuff!
I had the pleasure of seeing Pantera 5 different times back in the day. Although I'm a drummer, I was watching Dime 90% of the time during the show. He was just mesmerizing and so fun to watch. He's by far my all time favorite guitar player.
I miss him so much. Look how much he accomplished in his short time here. I am very grateful for every Dimebag video on TH-cam. He is still my favorite guitarist and Pantera is still my favorite band. I honestly listen to them everyday.

I wish I could picture the fretboard through his eyes. Gotta hold and play that instrument, learn the notes just like the letters on your keyboard or phone when texting.
He knew his shit but at the same time he also had a surprisingly simplistic, almost childlike naïveté to the way he understood and articulated things (in a cool good way); he knew enough theory to be able to communicate and to write interesting shit but he didn’t allow the technical side to take over - he maintained a youthful enthusiasm and developed his own shorthand and terminology that worked for him and it changed the face of music. RIP one of the realest dudes to ever set soles of a pair of hi top Chucks on the pavement

I always love hearing a legend play with that practice amp sound.....it drives home that what you really hear when they played live or on the albums is hours and hours practice, good technique, and creativity.....not just buying a bunch of gear to find the perfect guitar tone....which I am guilty of🙄
