It's shocking that Dime has been gone that long. His music is still relevant even though he has been gone for so long. I know that we are the lucky ones who got to hear Dime Bags music while he was still alive.
"He came to rock ... And rocked like no other with the heart twice the size of Texas, our beloved brother, companion, mentor, idol, and friend ... We love you Dime ... Until we meet again.” RIP to the Greatest Metal guitarist of all time, you are missed every day...
So many different decent guitarists, yet literally none of them is capable of catching the Dime's spirit playing these riffs. It speaks more of Dime himself, not the guitarists featured. Respect for trying.
You know who fucking crushed it though? To my complete shock and awe Sinister Gates that sad sickly looking fuck NAILED IT. I mean…no no no…credit where it’s due; they did walk at a festival I saw them play at in Texas and it was the first time I heard a guitar player crush it. That pull-off/slide bar at the end of the second measure in the solo? Like a fucking champion that’s how. Here’s the deal, I hate that fucking band more than I hate Load and Re-Load but man… it was so upsetting, I could have taken a shit and eaten it, but he did it. Not like how Zack Wylde drops the ball on the Broken solo… makes me fucking sick.. he’s Zack Wylde and he sounds like ME. But sinister gates(wtf? that name is fucking clown shoes) crush’s that solo like he owns the fucking copyright. (It doesn’t need to make sense it’s a metaphor for slavery)
I LOVE how he threw in some Damageplan on there! Explode is one of my favorite tunes! Fuck yeah, Getcha pull! RIP Abbott Brothers. FOREVER STRONGER THAN ALL. 🤘🏻😈🤘🏻
Dime lived his 38 years to the fullest and left a legacy as big as his sound and personality. No one was or will ever be more of the baddest M-F to ever rip on the strings or drink your ass under the table like Dime did. Riff for riff, solo for solo he was all you could ever want in a metal guitarists. ✝️ Love Ya Brother Dime. 🎸
I love how John played it onto a hello kitty-kid acoustic guitar 😂♥️ Dime will forever be the goat for all guitarists, from newbie to pro, everyone knows at least 2-3 dime riffs
I was supposed to have gone to that concert. Alrosa villa. Was so excited but my wife was sick at that time so I opted to stay at home. I don't think I could have witnessed that live and ever been the same again. RIP Dime... Always an influence, always the best and always had that black tooth grin!
Some Dime riffs I have learned recently would be The Underground in America with that crazy low tuning! Shattered and Yesterday don’t mean shit! All fun to play! I saw Pantera a dozen times in the 90s
@@parisite99 I was at the Damage Plan Show in Indiana pretty close to when it happened! I saw the Reinventing tour too in fact I believe it was my last
That’s cuz he is one badass guitarist from an 80’s band(Grin Reaper) and he is one of dimes best friends and he showed him the entire PANTERA catalog. That’s y he plays deep cuts (know what that means?). So he doesn’t plays only overplayed riffs. He knows their entire catalog, shown to him by Dime himself !!!
The same Brit guy …is Nick Bowcott from GrimReaper …he hangout with DimeBag for years, he knows all Dimes riffs …simple because he wrote DimeBags column in guitar world magazine…he knows all the tricks and probably plays dimes riffs better than Zach Wilde …just in case 😂…and he is left handed .
Tone is in the fingers….close for most but no cigar. I did like NB played that harmonic section of Great Southern Trendkill. I think the guitar work on that record gets overlooked by most, when it’s really good southern / bluesy.
He’s one of Dimes best friends (Nick Bowcott of Grim Reaper) Dime showed him ALL of his riffs and how to play them correctly even dem Texas hick bends !!!
I never realized it.... But walk will be the next smoke on the water... Really cool when you first hear it.... But super annoying after hearing 100000000000000000000000 times
Are you kidding with this? How many times did they play Walk? Not a single one of them played arguably the heaviest riff he ever wrote. The beginning of A New Level.
The guy from blink 182 didn’t do cowboys from hell any justice. The feeling and rhythm was lacking. It’s honestly not easy to pull off like Dime does it.
Funny how all these people except John 5 try to play walk, it's like three and a half notes the main riff and they play it wrong. Every time! Lol. R.I.P Dimebag! 🤘🏻🍻 P
I like how everyone is playing Walk wrong. Like, pretty much all of them. Justin pretty much has it. Playing CFH wrong too lmao. Like completely wrong.
All of those guitarist still john 5 sounds heavier with a hello kitty guitar 😅

20 years this December. Legendary music lasts generations 🤘
🙄
I remember being at work hearing it the day it happened so crazy
I shook his hand and he gave me a smoke whiskey pick in Huntington WV in 2001 🤘🏼
You are! I never even got to share the earth with him but I still feel so close to him through his music

Bro “The sleep” is such a slept on riff
And notice how similar it sounds to diary of a madman by Ozzy
Pun intended?

Top 5 PanterA songs of all time
i see what you did there 😎

Right? So many talented guitarists, yet none can grasp the vibe Darrell put out
watching others play his riffs just shows how good he actually was
Nice to see someone play Shattered. Killer riffs. And really tricky to get just right.
Greatest band ever. Greatest riffs ever.
I LOVE how he threw in some Damageplan on there! Explode is one of my favorite tunes! Fuck yeah, Getcha pull!
RIP Abbott Brothers.
FOREVER STRONGER THAN ALL.

Dime inspired and will inspire generations. RIP Dime
Don’t yall ever make Nick play that many pantera riffs ever again 😂
🤣🤣
I actually thought it was awesome!
I'm so grateful to have witnessed Pantera's return to its righteous throne.
The harmonics in Pantera and Sepulura really opened my eyes to playing. RIP brother
Nothing is more badass in metal than Dimebags riffs, and most non metal heads appreciate the music as well

Such swagger in his riffs. A true fucking rockstar!! RIP Dimebag.
Far Beyond Driven my fav Pantera album! as if i cld actually pick one😂
It still holds up so well when you hear Pantera, they crushed it!
20 years this year... :(

Another great segment Loudwire!

Lucky man! I only got to see them on the Reinventing tour in 99. Saw DP twice, but that ain’t the same.

Shattered is a great song. Post a video of shattered outro solo. Everyone wants to learn that part.

5 Minutes Alone-- baddest fucking Pantera song ever! Was always my hype-up song for the gym!

This is so good !!!!!!!!!! 🤘
They all sound great
Best band and metal guitarist ever!
Clash With Reality is another underrated banger..
Hats off to Nick! Threw a little damageplan in there.
Indian dude is playing CFH wrong
Yeah
My favorite Dime riff is We'll grind that axe for a long time
The king!
that English dude is the best dime copy artist
Thank goodness for the love for Shedding Skin.
For me 10's
I Would Have Love To Be In This!
BRIT THAT SHIT UP BROTHER!!! Dime would say that to you as well. OHH YEAH!!! Ohhh you know it's true 😂 keep shredding bro keep on keepin
The old saying, often imitated, but never duplicated comes to mind. BUT the British guy comes closest to the real thing.
there are couple of british guys in this video

Who was that dude that did Shedding Skin? Interested to see more
Best guitar player for me.
Damn, the dude with the Union Jack guitar knows his stuff!!!
Grim Reaper guitarist, played with the late great Steve Grimmett. Highly recommend if you love Iron Maiden type riffs and vocals.
Fun fact. It's actually just the Union flag. Its only a Union Jack when it's displayed on a ship.

John 5 playing walk on a mini hello kitty acoustic is what I came here for
Has anyone else ever noticed that Shedding Skin intro is just slower/tuned down from “Jump in the Fire” by Metallica or is it just me?
LOL A wild Justin Whang appears
I always bust out the Glamtera riffs. "All over tonight" and such.
Love how nobody can sound like dime! They all play the notes but nobody can mimic the sound
Love how there's all sorts of guys recognizable for their bands and then there's fucking Whang lmao
Are you kidding with this? How many times did they play Walk? Not a single one of them played arguably the heaviest riff he ever wrote. The beginning of A New Level.
The Great Southern Trendkill and Rise for example. . Love those songs 🤟🤟🤟
Shedding skin prob my fav pantera riff of all time
Mouth for waaaaar
🤘❤️🔥
10% other riffs 90% walk and cowboys from hell
love it! but fuck the hello kitty guy. jokes aside, you never hear anyone nail a dime riff like he did
WHAT'S UP, ROCKERS?!!!
Pantera was my life my entire teenage years
Hello Kitty Guitar 😂
make video the others rockers playing riffs of kiss
Not a single mention of the riff from "This Love"? Really!?
Of course John 5 playing the hello kitty guitar and still making it sound cool
Walk on an acoustic guitar sounds like evil country
What song he start playing at 10:12?? Someone help
5 minutes alone
Lots of solid guitarists here...however none of them can even come close to Dimes style and technique.
Loud wire! IDEAS OR VIDEOS BELOW! ⬇️
Dumb question but I cannot remember the song at 11:00
5 minutes alone
The riffs are great but not as good as hearing someone say "gitcha pull” with a British accent. 🤘
Dime’s riffs were so fucking nasty.
The guy from blink 182 didn’t do cowboys from hell any justice. The feeling and rhythm was lacking. It’s honestly not easy to pull off like Dime does it.
That dude is from sum 41. But yeh he really miffed it
I wish Nick Bowcott was my SW sales engineer. I got some lame dude who looks like he plays the trombone.
Where's "A new Level"? Jeez
what about when scottie lepage played the walk solo like it was nothing
It all sounds wrong because Pantera tune to like 420 Hertz for A or whatever.
Fuck yeah Michael paget is the coolest!
Fret hand ...not too rough....pick hand almost got a couple guitars thrown up into a tree.
Funny how all these people except John 5 try to play walk, it's like three and a half notes the main riff and they play it wrong. Every time! Lol.
