What Your Watch Says About You! - Your Status In The Watch Game!(Vol 1)

  • Wearing a nice watch will tell a thing or two about you. I'm not talking about the opinion from a regular Jo but more from a person that really knows about the watch game. Some people maybe just getting into collecting watches while others may only plan to buy one watch. The model that you have on will say a lot about your style, status, and rank in the watch game. This watch collecting hobby is addictive and we will tend to say we are only going to buy one watch. Only to end up buying watch after watch. Usually upgrading lol!
    Comment below what you think about what these models say about you.
    Thank You for watching!

      Rolex better smarten up because at some point people will get tired of overpaying over retail prices and will look to other brands to fulfill their needs. I can see brands like Breitling, Omega, Jaeger Le Coutre and Jack Turner Watches benefiting from this.

      In all seriousness: Rolex is a nice brand and I like some of their watches too, but if you’re really into watches and have handled a lot of different brands, Rolex gets demystified very quickly. We all have that notion in our heads that Rolex is the pinnacle of luxury watches but that’s just not true.
      If you like a Rolex better than an omega that’s fine, but don’t say omega is worse. It’s the opposite. Regarding Finishing and quality over all a Seamaster beats a sub any day.
      If you’re just in this “game” for some kind of street cred or whatever, then you’re not a true watch enthusiast. Just a person who wants to be seen and flex his wealth.

    Watches are not only the brand or the functionality. They are the craftsmanship, the detail, they are jewels, they are the design. They tell a lot about your personality and your identity. They are a part of you, and they tel a story about you.

    I have the resources to buy any watch I want. In fact, I went through a time where I bought them all….Patek 5711, 5164, 5167, 5960….ALS, JLC, a bunch of Rolex, Omega, RM, etc. What do I wear now? A Tudor BB58 blue. It’s all the watch I need and so beautiful, under the radar, dependable, and versatile. At the end of the day, I don’t need my watch to make a statement for me….just be a reliable and dependable partner through life.

    Never judge a persons wealth by what watch they choose to wear. Judging a person by their watch from the tunnel vision perspective of a watch enthusiast is just stupid and rarely accurate. Not everyone wants or "needs" to wallet flex with their watch nor might they even care about watches in general. A nice automatic watch already is rare in this world of "smart watches". A guy with a SS Sub, YM, DJ, Omega diver, etc..may own a $20 million yacht. I have seen this first hand.

    Wearing something that is well made and worth what you paid for it is what I’d consider to be the most important factor. So that precludes wearers of RM costing what a house would on your wrist. It’s amoral. You’ve just been sold the Brooklyn Bridge.

    • @uropy
      @uropy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn’t matter. People wearing RM want to stand out. They believe it’s better being hated than being ignored, which I agree. You don’t have to agree though.

      @@uropy I think a "self made" person that choose RM, he is prepared to risk everything to achieve his dream. At first I thought it is a show off time piece, but man ... the process preparing the money, and then searching way before you were called in to purchase RM... is so different from buying Rolex. You have to be connected. It is a status symbol that you can not just pay for it. And you know immediately if someone got RM through short cuts, as RM actually modify the watch to tailor to your lifestyle. You will notice immediately if you buy RM through short cuts.

    This hobby is just so much fun. Whatever watch you collect or wear should only speak something to you. Everyone else just looks at it. You were the one who earned it. If you are buying a watch to flex well, the act of buying it says more about you than the watch. Buy what you like. I just sold 4 Rolexes and I couldn't tell you their reference numbers if my life depended on it. And one was the yellow gold and green dial daytona. Bought that a few years ago when someone told me it was too gaudy. Jajaja
