Awesome video! Thanks for posting. I currently have On The Go DI system and have been considering putting an RO system in front of it. I do not have a water softener though. My TDS is around 400-500. Do you think a water softener is required? Do you have a rough guess as to how much the total RO system cost?

You dont need a water softenor. I just so happen to have one. The RO system is rated to handle up to 700 tds. However, you'll need to find a place to run the drain to. Some will run it into a flower bed, and others run the drain to a tank.

@@BrillianceAutoSpa Perfect. I have a flower bed next to my garage. That's a great idea. Thanks for the reply.

Nice setup. I’m confused though, you have the RO, DI and then a softener? Isn’t this like 2 or 3 separate types of filtrations that do the same thing? Legitimately asking. Because I know RO removes everything which is great but I feel like the rest is kind of redundant

The water softener is first. The water softenor isn't lowering the TDS for me since all it's doing is exchanging minerals, which then goes into the house.
The softener only serves as source water for my RO/DI system.

What’s the cost of all this?

Tank - 500, but you can get a smaller one for less. RO system - 500 - but you can run a smaller system for 2/3rd of the price, deionization cartridges are free because I get those from work. A friend is doing the same setup, but he's using a wall mounted CR Spotless, and that's around 400 dollars.
As i mentioned in the video, the upfront cost might be a bit high, but in the long run, you'll save a lot of money on resin.
