To be fair, this IS what he set out to do with his show(s). He's mentioned that the show was initially inspired by Extra Credits's episode on Tangential Learning, which is essentially about how innocuous things in media can lead some people down rabbit holes of research which teaches them more about the world than they would have expected. Most of the time, the "Theories" aren't about the theories themselves but are about teaching you something along the way. And that's why it's great for kids.

Red being a colour that makes people angry is actually incorrect. Red has way more postive connotations than negative ones, and painting it in spots or streaks is a very good design for things such as children's hospitalls
if there was any decal on hospital floors or walls that are not nearly entirely desaturated red or isnt just a sharp and blocky image it is going to end up like blood
Red may have more positive connotations numerically, but in terms of the strength of those connotations, blood and aggression are the two strongest. It’s like how I can put dozens of pebbles on one side of the scale, but if I put just one boulder on the other side it will outweigh all the pebbles.

This is like Chinese water torture. I get invested in the science but at the same time I'm anxiously awaiting him to bring up Minecraft or Among Us or some other game again. Agony
Honestly, I grew up watching the older era of videos as a kid myself (it still beats me to realize how long MatPat's been doing this for by this point) and... I agree. Of course, at some point Game Theory stopped hinging less on scientific premises (plus I think if he relied purely on science-based videos he either would've run out of ideas or would've restricted the content he could make) and it became a little less engaging and educational I feel. But nonetheless, growing up on The Game Theorists definitely urged me to pursue a STEM-related career with the most important part being that I came out of each Game Theory video realizing just how varied the kinds of applications are for STEM concepts, which is quite hard to grasp given how linear and 1:1 the teaching materials tend to be for broad science and math lessons in normal school curricula. It definitely got me to realize just how powerful having even just a little knowledge in the sciences was.
