Idk if it's just me, but the moment Scott starts singing, you can immediately tell PTX sounds better than the rest of them (which is fitting, since they won).
it's so true, and I noticed, at the end, when all the leads did coloratura (fancy singing and riffs), Scott was the best, if not the only clear sounding singer. The rest of them were wobbly sounding. XD
Well, Scott's riffs are always to die for. :P

Definitely. Especially with headphones in the opening numbers, you can pick out every ptx members voicen the part they sing
I noted that Scott and Michael--who basically ended up being the leads of the all group songs by the end of the season--were placed front and center here from their very first appearance. I think the showrunners knew from the beginning that they were standouts.
Little did we know this would be the best season and the beginning of the end for the series.
I would argue that the teams from season 4 and 5 wouldnt have cracked the top ten of season 3.

Okay but honestly? I think Pentatonix and Dartmouth Aries preformed this song well. I love mcr with my entire heart. Some of these groups just don't fit the genre that mcr is. Some tried to hard and some didn't try enough, some just don't fit the vocals. But honestly not much people can preform a lot of mcr songs well.

I feel like most of this season was the Pentatonix and Dartmouth Aires show lol. Love them both tho.
The arrangers did pretty quickly discover that they could trust Scott and Michael O (the Aires' lead singer) with any solo, and they'd nail it. They become more and more the frontmen for the whole assemblage.

Being an MCR fan for years and a PTX fan for quite some time, I started crying when Scott yelled "keep running!" I just miss My Chemical Romance so much. They changed my life and this cover was absolutely amazing!
i am so glad they made him say that part, i mean i love me some Scott but i think it was perfect for him and the end when he smiled! Gah! he's such a cutie. I miss MCR as well

It's 2019 and I'm still here watching this. This is so amazing and it still baffles me that most people don't realize how hard it was to put this together and how special that we even had this to begin with. All those groups together, it's like you're watching the latest Avengers movie... all those superheroes coming together. The only thing that makes me sad is that all these years later, most of them (with the special exception of you-know-who-nix) are probably stuck in an office somewhere doing work that anyone can do. They may spend their days dressed up as Clark Kent, but here's the proof of the supermen and women they really are.
I obviously can't speak for everyone, but at least one of the singers from the Aires is still very much in the business: Clark Moore. He's a good friend of PTX as well, and he's in one of Scott's music videos "Ghost".
Sonos are still performing too - they've just changed name - they're now called ARORA.
@@Sweeney541 Michael O (the Aires' lead singer) is pursuing a solo singing career. He released an album 2 years ago. And Clark Moore had a recurring role (including singing) throughout the last season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

I love how above all the awesome singing, you can just hear Scott's perfect riffs every five seconds. 😁
I love this so much because they're all wearing bright colors which remind of of the killjoys, and each group is wearing the same colors so I feel like it's different groups of killjoys, and the fact that they all start in groups and by the end they're all just united as singers is so beautiful. Because isn't the entire message of the song is to stick together and fight as a team against what's wrong and unjust?

It's actually really hard to find a REALLY good bass. The whole show only had maybe 3 REAL basses, and the rest were just low baritones trying. But I definitely agree that it was just him, which is insane in such a large group, especially since singing lower makes it harder to sing louder, so that alone is really intense (his mic was probably louder than everyone else's though tbh)
@@alexisocasio6739 In fact there's a worldwide shortage of true basses, even in the classical world. Opera companies find operas like The Magic Flute impossible to cast really well now, because there aren't any men with a really sonorous low E.

As a fellow Emo Kid, I have to say Scott's back must have hurt after this because he carried this song. Not very many of these groups had the voices for a My Chem song and yet Scott went all out and he was amazing. I NEED A FULL COVER OF THIS FROM HIM ONE DAY.

I feel that Michael from the Aires sings like a cross between Burton Cummings of the Guess Who and Tom Jones.
It's almost unfair just how amazing PTX was back then. No one stood a single chance as soon as they enter the room

@@addisynmae7055 Is that really the case? Not that I'm doubting you, but it sure seems counterintuitive that Soul'd Out, a group of 16 high school students, would almost all be 20 or older. Of course they could include a number of alumni (as some of the college groups on the show did, partly to deal with the missing-school problem).

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the collective ruined this. They were all building up the power and then bam, there's this weak, shaky voice bringing it all back down when it should have been KAPOW! VOOOCAALS!!!!! Vibratos great, but you have to control it, not let it control you.
