The girl who started off "Crazy in Love" had me from the moment she strutted down the floor. She was the perfect performer for that number, it totally added to an already amazing performance!
I just noticed that the little dance they do during ABC is the same dance Mitch does when Pentatonix performs Evolution Of Music and they get to the ABC part awww
Wait, so the famed dance Mitch does every time they get to "ABC" during their medley in concerts originated here????? HAHAHAHA Somehow I find this so hilarious! He still does those exact leg twists every concert!
Wow! Best intro number of the season so far. So many great parts: Michael and Scott's solos, the transition between I feel Good and ABC, Mariah's solo, that guy in Urban Method's falsetto!, Danielle killing it, heck EVERYTHING was great. So high energy, I love it.
Yes they did both on the same night but producers wanted her to match more with the other girls so she changed. (if there were other girls in the group I'm sure it would have been fine but just one stood out too much)
Scott gets to riff in the background of almost every opening number Pentatonix is in. There is some serious ad-lib belting going on in their first appearance (episode 2) with "Sing" by My Chemical Romance but Scott just owns it.
@Maeleson That's Troy Horne, and YES, he has an incredible range. In addition to his work with Urban Method, he sings bass with the House Jacks, and as you can see in this video clip, he has a great falsetto as well.
Hey I personally am not an R&B guy but this was amazing. Ladies NO clue how you pulled the dance moves off in those heals. lol I wonder on this late evening now 2 years later..Where is all this talent now????I loved all seasons but 3 was one of my favorites. From the tribute to Ben's father, To Yellow jackets swan song, And of course Halloween opener (OHHH the scarry Wind!) I am a simple man who got a lot of happiness knowing I was seeing real talent. I wish u all well! Don't give up yr Dreams!
"Crazy in Love" is my favorite part of the medley....and I love 2:07 with the guy from Vocal Point because he looks so adorable....the ladies really made this number work for me
In Scott's first lead in this... they kept flipping from Scott to Mitch 3 out of the 5 times.... cameraman may have been the first scomiche shippers.... (:33-:47)
The logistics of these opening numbers fascinate me in general. The arranger obviously had to share the spotlight among all the groups remaining so nobody felt slighted, make use of the designated lead singers of each, and find moments for as many others (who could handle it) as possible. And though he might have the overall songs and structure worked out in advance, he had to wait until after the previous elimination to know exactly which groups he had to accommodate. I would love to read details about the whole process. Like, at the very start there were 3 men on the central platform: Michael, Scott, and the guy from Vocal Point. It seemed logical that they would trade off lines in the opening bit, and yet only Michael and Scott did. Was it planned that way (and 3 just looked more symmetrical), or did plans change at some point, or what. A thousand little things like that.
Videos like this remind me just how *good* the show's opening pieces were by the midpoint of Season 3--the performers and the production company were all firing on all cylinders, so to speak. It will be interesting to see if Season 4's opening numbers will be as good.
good thing that non of them are prima ballerinas who moved from one company to another, bringing the previous choreographers signature moves with them ;)
MITCH DANCING OMG I"M NOT OKAY
+Fiona Mason Yizzz
The girl who started off "Crazy in Love" had me from the moment she strutted down the floor. She was the perfect performer for that number, it totally added to an already amazing performance!
You should see her do American boy, she’s phenomenal
@@spacecadet2172Yeah Afro Blue was my favorite group.
Scott riffs are the best riffs.
Kirstie is such a great dancer
I'm living for Mitch dancing
honey, EVERYONE lives for mitchie dancing
Mitchie's ABC legs!
the ABC famous leg moves
I just noticed that the little dance they do during ABC is the same dance Mitch does when Pentatonix performs Evolution Of Music and they get to the ABC part awww
yes omg i'm crying awww
lol I was about to say "Well we know where Mitch got his moves from xD"
Abby Folds And Kirstie sings it. It's perfect!
Haha I just commented that then saw this. He STILL DOES IT!
how on Earth is this not still on TV. the talent level in that room is off the chart. I love the medleys.
I love how everyone cheers when Scott takes the lead.
and to this day Kirstie still sings the "ABC as easy as 123 as simple as do re mi abc 123 baby you me " part
We like to thank you nbc for ruins our lives when cancelled this incredible show. Thank you. Very smart. Very smart.
Wait, so the famed dance Mitch does every time they get to "ABC" during their medley in concerts originated here????? HAHAHAHA Somehow I find this so hilarious! He still does those exact leg twists every concert!
That's exactly what I thought lmao
he did. those leg moves.
...wich of course originates from The Jackson 5's ABC vid ;)
It must of killed Scott to have to sing back up during Beyonce solos. :)
OOOoo... I can only IMAGINE. Plus I think that the trio would of sung that part SO much better.
Andrea Budesheim IMAGINE

After all this time, Danielle still draws my eye every time. Pure star power.
I always think the same thing, she steals the show in this! I just want her to keep the lead throughout Crazy in Love.
i;m so disappointed that the trio didn't get to sing the solo on crazy in love haha
Scott is living for his riffing section near the end though.
this end part it had to be him
Mariah from AB has such an amazing voice. I wish we'd gotten to hear her sing more.
have to say scott's leg wiggle is bloody good ! 0.14-0.16
Anyone else notice that the rest of ptx is wearing the outfits for lets get it on and kirstie is in the one for omg?
+Erin Donovan I think it is because she would have stood out too much in a hot pink dress when everyone blended together
I know this is kinda late, but they did preform both of those songs that night.
Yes they did both on the same night but producers wanted her to match more with the other girls so she changed. (if there were other girls in the group I'm sure it would have been fine but just one stood out too much)
To be fair they did perform OMG first so.....
Scott gets to riff in the background of almost every opening number Pentatonix is in. There is some serious ad-lib belting going on in their first appearance (episode 2) with "Sing" by My Chemical Romance but Scott just owns it.
it kind of cracks me up every time i see Scott dancing. hahaha xD
Mitch is such a great dancer! And he still does that little dance during the Evolution of music when they perform it!
Scott's solos never cease to AMAZE ME!!!😯👍
SCOTT LEADING THE RIFFS. ALL OF THE RIFFS TO SCOTT, THE MASTER OF RIFFS.
i thought scott was gonna sing the lead for crazy in love😂
I was ready too
@Maeleson That's Troy Horne, and YES, he has an incredible range. In addition to his work with Urban Method, he sings bass with the House Jacks, and as you can see in this video clip, he has a great falsetto as well.
1:36 high note fail
me:It should have been Mitch
true
I could immediately tell which one Mitch was, even with the lights off at the start. Is that bad?
Hey I personally am not an R&B guy but this was amazing. Mitch's noodle dance in the beginning makes me happy.
MITCH DANCING IS MY EVERYTHING I'M HAVING A HEART ATTACK
"Crazy in Love" is my favorite part of the medley....and I love 2:07 with the guy from Vocal Point because he looks so adorable....the ladies really made this number work for me

for anyone who's looking for Avi & Kevin, theyre at the end of the stage to the left of the screen :]
I just love Tanner!
The whole performance was amazing!!
2:21-2:39 Jazz bass breakdown! I hear you Reggie, ridiculous
I love that I'm so obsessed with Mitch I can pick out his voice no matter how many people are on stage
Mitch still doing the ABC dance just much less defying gravity in 2011
Ptx should have done crazy in love
Wong Hwan Ching nah, it was perfect
sometimes I need to remember to breathe while watching them.
Mitch is feeling it!
Danielle for the win! She commanded that stage, while being amongst all of those people.
YESSSS KEVIN!
Scott is *SO* good 😍🎶💘🎶💘😍
This was the best opener of season 3
何回見ても、幸せになる
I would love to hear them do the full length version of Crazy In Love!
I love how Kirstie is in her OMG outfit and the rest of PTX is in their Lets Get It On outfits! Lol
The dude at 1:07 did an awesome Michael Jackson impression.
you'll be happy to know that the show is returning for a new season this fall!
wooow this is how music should sound..BEAUTIFUL!
Mitch's ABC Legs!!!!!!
Best. Opener.
Every time I watch this I wonder if Mitch auditioned for the part that the dude with the Mohawk sang (the ABC opening). He would have killed it.

that was good.feel goood
Anyway, I can die happy, she's absolutely gorgeous.
2:20
What the fuck’n great base !!
These groups would make a good GRAND FINALS show.
This is excellent. Period.
That boy Mike has got some serious swagger!!!
SCOTT
whoever did the bass during Crazy in love was sick!!!
Reggie from Afro Blue :-)
I LOL'ed at the blonde Darthmouth guy's 'leg twich' at 0:17
Fodástico... por que acabou este programa? Demais!
I love the Afro-blue leads😍!
is it just, at 1:07 when he says "repeat after me" he sounds like Michael Jackson.
no offense, but I think that was the point
That beginning was lit
Too fun ,I didnt want it to stop!!!
AWESOME!
My god Mitch loves to dance and oh my he is a very good dancer
Videos like this remind me just how *good* the show's opening pieces were by the midpoint of Season 3--the performers and the production company were all firing on all cylinders, so to speak.
It will be interesting to see if Season 4's opening numbers will be as good.
the woman that sing 1:45 is like drunk hahaha
I love this show. Love it. Love it. LOVE IT!!!
Whenever Brendan (from the Aires) sings I get so incredibly happy
Am I the only one expecting Bohemian rhapsody after ABC?
Holy crap. Why pick a winner when you could just sign them all up for their own show.
I swear Avi can be harder to find than Waldo...
You know, I know that THIS is a Pentatonix arrangement.
2:22 Avis bass tune
+brollybasher It was in fact Reggie from Afro-Blue.
This maybe weird but...does anyone think Scott would have done ten times better than that girl in Crazy in Love?
YES!!😥
kirstin at 1:51
Wow!
Whose the girl who sings the verse in ABC before Kirstie? They're my favorite soloists in this medley along wih Scott.
Troy's range!!!!
Everytime I watched the show, he did...
am doin' the "ugly face" that Shawn mentioned throughout the whole thing
(is Avi the 'bass guitar' from 2:20? )
It's Reggie from Afro Blue. He's a beast!
Anyone know the song Scott Hoying sang?
I feel like most of the choreo that Pentatonix use on their tours was taken from these performances...
good thing that non of them are prima ballerinas who moved from one company to another, bringing the previous choreographers signature moves with them ;)
2:20 nice moves
That was Reggie!! lol Maybe Avi had the best lower register but Reggie had the best bass lines on this entire show!
Listen to Reggie during the rap part with the bass #beast
I heard somewhere someone suggested that the background is prerecorded with only the leads on live mics. Even so.. thats a Lot of leads.
They took doo-wop, shook it up, turned it on its head and worked it!
Boys and girls this where Mitch's ABC dance originated from...
What song did Scott sing?
Avi!
How do they learn this every week plus 1-2 songs of their own plus a swan song? I mean how are they so talented?
wow! NBC is missing out!
Michael’s entrance and Henry looks so freaking handsome
Like seriously, Henry's dashing
I thought they used PTX' Evo of Music xD oh well #PentaholicProblems xD
2:39 Kirstie Explode my Heart...
