This is just so stinking good. It's criminal how little recognition this show got when the contestants on here are more talented than 99% of other singing show contestants. This will forever be my favorite singing competition.

I actually went to one of PTX's first events after they won and asked Avi why he was always hard to find in the opening numbers. He said it was because there was too much choreography so he volunteered to stand somewhere else lol

I love Kirstie's little part at 0:38 "it's our town everybody scream." She has such a show-tune voice! In the Wizard of Oz thing they did with Todrick Hall, she has the part of the witch towards the end and does an amazing acting job on that too! Her witch laugh is amazing.

I think that's because Kevin was the only beat boxer there(?) not 100% sure about that.
And Avi... Well Avi's just amazing.
Avi's voice is so deep you can be nearly 100% sure it's him! Plus not to mention Kevin and his body rolls ~ I'm pretty sure he was the only beatboxer.
You gotta love the 4 dudes rolling out of the dry ice singing werewolves of London :-)
Also, lots of choreography here. Props to 8 different groups coordinating the action and rotating leads. Not so easy..
This performance was so memorable for me that even a decade later, I still come back to watch every spooky season! I miss this show, it was one of the better singing shows out there.

Definitely Avi singing the lowest part on This is Halloween, he did the laugh at the beginning of Werewolves in London and he also did some overtone singing in that one. The man is a BEAST. Not another bass in that whole place could match him and even dozens of basses couldn't cover him up. Just so frustrating that they had him off camera!!!!
I know, replying to my own comment, but as an afterthought: I wonder how the other basses felt about the splendor that is Avi?
I know super late response but someone mentioned Avi volunteered to be up in the balcony so he wouldn't have to dance in the crowd. As to how the other bassist felt about his amazing range I imagine the following:
Bass singer: Ok this is our shot. We can win if we buckle down. *heard Avi* oh.... nope we lost.
But there is so much hugging on this show I think they admired him

Seriously, when Scott walks out, I get chill bumps.
As was said by one of the judges in the first episode, it is VERY hard for a Bass to move AND sing at the same time and there is a LOT of dancing in this number. Avi (and the rest of the Basses) are in the grandstands. Notice they NEVER focus on the stands for the singing groups in this number. The big guys are either in the stands or with the audience (where some of the groups also start in openers)

Troy really shines in the opening numbers but he never really got solos with UM. Also, rewatching all of these makes me really sad that the Sing-Off got cancelled :(

This is the first time I saw this literally slay. I came for Pentatonix but everyone blew me away. too bad I didn't see Avi but I saw everyone else.

I think I found Avi. Look around 2:49 at the right hand of the stage. He's the one in the suit with sunglasses between the girl in white and the girl in red. Oh, at use 1080p. It'll make the image much clearer.

This show deserves the following EMMYs:
-Outstanding Reality-Competition Program
-Music Direction
-Sound Mixing for a Music Series.
Whoever arranged, music directed, and mixed the microphones for all these performances all season deserves awards for outstanding work. As well as the show as a whole, for giving a platform to these genuinely talented singers.
Thay were hoping that putting him a box might control his Bass. It didn't work, you can't see him, but we can all hear him. :)

All of pentatonix are dressed like characters from Rocky Horror: Kristie is Columbia; Kevin is Eddie; Scott is one of the Time Warp dancers; and I haven't been able to locate Avi in the crowd.

I feel like my life is fulfilled now that I saw Kirstie's "It's our town, everybody scream!!" moment. I always saw that super short clip and didn't realize it was from a cover of a song from my most rewatched movie. lol
It really says something that I couldn't find Avi visually, but could hear him almost the whole time. :)

They sound so unified that it's amazing!
My favorite part is 0:50-0:55. His voice is awesome. I also like how all the guys come out (Scott and the guy from Dartmouth Aires and everybody cheers!) and make everybody go....WHOA!
And 2:08-2:13, his voice is perfect for that part! My other absolute favorite part is when Clark comes and goes, "I ain't afraid of no ghost, HUH!" and whips that awesome hair around.

PTX are dressed as the characters of Rocky Horror Picture Show. Vocal Point are Men in Black. I thought Yellow Jackets were from Star Troopers, but G.I Joe works also.
All of Pentatonix were dressed from Rocky Horror. That's why kevin looks so uhm... "Fabulous".

Scott Hoying from Pentatonix. You can also see Kirstie Maldonado (in the gold top hat/Columbia from RHPS outfit), Mitch Grassi (star sunglasses, black top hat, red shirt with gold vest), and Kevin Olusola (beat boxer, leather vest and hat, red shirt)....I've never been able to find Avi though!

This was one of the greatest performances....ever. Hands down.
i just realised something. For Ghostbusters, the choreographers were smart enough to put the good dancers front and center! Amy and Laina from Delilah, Mariah from Afro Blue, Kirstie from Pentatonix and Kim from Urban Method!
I loved how Sara Bareilles danced to Ghostbusters.
ptx are not the only group singing this. seriously guys show the other groups some love. some of the comments make it sound ptx are the ones who make this proformance. every one together make it amazing
