Anybody that scored this for Oscar should never watch boxing again my lord. ODLH won 3 rounds. Not even close. 49:20 Sums up this whole fight. Oscar throws a lot of sloppy shite that isn’t doing anything, meanwhile Mayweather is picking him off with clean shots that rock ODLH.
I was reading these comments and thought they were wrong, as I skipped the pre-fight commentary, and most of the rounds were given to Mayweather- up until about Round 7. Then it seems like they weren't even watching, but were too busy talking to each other. They said that Round 9 was one of the more difficult rounds to score... that was so easily a Mayweather round it's embarrassing.

I just watched the fight , it was very entertaining. I believe Floyd won strictly because Floyd was actually able to make Oscar miss, but I never seen Oscar really make Floyd miss. That made the difference in the decision. Blocking punches and moving to evade punches are two different things. Those flurries that Oscar was throwing made him look sloppy at times.
De la Hoya is so stupid and sloppy.Throwing bullshit flurries to impress judges won't fool them . DE LA HOYA SO STUPID I CAN'T BELIEVE HE GOT AWAY WITH THEM MOST OF THE TIMES
If this was the ''worst fight you have ever seen'', then you must have watched about three fights in your life. Seriously, it's no classic, but there is plenty of action, and a close competitive decision.
Every single one of these commentators, so called boxing experts and former fighters WAS ALL AGAINST FLOYD MAYWEATHER! But not me. I knew Floyd was gone fuck Oscar up and he did
You can throw as many punches you want, but they don’t mean anything if it’s not landing. Block shots don’t count as landing. De La Hoya was more fast, but active. Mayweather was more slow, but accurate. I score this match in favor of Mayweather
And you wonder what happened to HBO boxing, well just listen to there commentary here and along w other fights they had it all wrong half the time and very biased at that!! Mayweather won this fight easy hands down bye 3-4 rounds to spare
Man they were so biased it wasn't even justifiable. It really hurts the sport. If your weren't watching the fight you'd think Oscar got robbed. He got dominated.
Anyone with common sense knows that no man walks in to a ring 50 times and comes out victorious is no stroke of luck. Just give the man his deserved credit. I like paquio but Floyd deserves the credit he deserves. You can't just take away a man's credit because you decide to. The mans unbeaten and he's fought the best, oscar , paquio, Canelo . I mean who else do you need for proof. What more does someone have to do to prove to you that he fought his heart out. The man deserves credit. No one's the best in the world but he proved a good fighter that's enough for me.
name a+ fighters he's picked and fought the best of his era i have much respect for pacquaio to but you don't like floyd because he is unbeaten and outspoken
Floyd won that fight by at least two or three rounds. For me Floyd was having an off night here as well. It was a massive occasion for Floyd also, bigger than any other fight he has been in, which he got through, and put him in could stead for all of these big money fights in recent times.
When you have a one dimensional fighter in with a great all around fighter of course he will look to outbox him. Oscar's foot speed is not what it was years ago and Floyd took advantage of that. I consider Oscar a one dimensional fighter in this particular fight because all he wanted to do was walk Floyd down to the point where he was close enough to land vicious blows to the body and Floyd eliminated that for most of the fight by using his foot speed.
DLH was no a one dimensional fighter. DLH also has some sneaky shit where he feints a right that looks like a full punch coming and throws that short left immediately. Sneaky af. DLH might have fought somewhat one dimensional here but isn't a one dimensional fighter. In his prime he would have been a serious issue for Mayweather
Watching the fight again. It was midly entertaining. It was more entertaining than history remembers (however history remembers that it also wasn't what it was hyped up to be going in, so I understand). Mayweather won the fight. I think Mayweather had one of the harder times landing cleanly on DLH throughout the fight. I think Mayweather felt he had TOO much to lose and didn't take many risks. From what I saw, I feel Mayweather could have TKO'd Oscar because Floyd has always had great combinations when he threw them. I just don't think he wanted to do something too dumb and risk getting caught by the bigger fighter. Mayweather was very relaxed, I think wanted Oscar to tire out and it made the fight more competitive. DLH's jab was doing well vs Floyd, but I don't think it "bothered" Floyd. I think the only thing that bothered Floyd was the crowd going crazy over DLH's rallies. Floyd Sr. was right that whether you're hitting arms or elbows, it is stilll activity. It was an odd fight to try to score a definitive winner. DLH had a nice showing for himself considering it was Floyd. Floyd had lesser than impressive showing for himself considering he is Floyd. DLH wasn't an "old" man as they made it out to be. I just feel Floyd focused on staying relaxed and not overexherting because the smaller man doesn't need to tire. Fans didn't want Floyd to win through very select pot shotting, but from a numbers and percentage perspective, that was the difference and how Floyd won.
it’s crazy because we won’t ever see another fight with this type of hype and magnitude ever or at-least in a while, floyd and oscar are gems to the sport of boxing and we can only hope that we can see this type of grudge match be made again at some point, ryan and tank are my best 2 options at this point.
Really? Hmm, if the punch stats says it all have you ever seen the punch stats when Mayweather fought Castillo? If punch stats says it all then you need to check out these stats then explain how Mayweather beat Castillo.

looks to me like oscar WAS holding back, but only as part of his strategy, knowing he would tire himself out too fast trying to play that game with mayweather and leaving himself open for the countershots.. he knew he wasnt fast enough and his whole plan was to try to catch mayweather with a lucky power punch and knock him out. when that didnt work he got frustrated and tried to make a show for the fans but wasnt landing any of his mcflurries lol. floyd running or not wouldnt have even mattered
Man Floyd was a monster,at the end of the forth round ,Floyd start punishing him....Boxing is a sport,Freddie Roach train so many "P4P fighters", but never could put a game plan for any of the fighters he train to unravel Floyd's genius in the ring....FLOYD WAS A SAVUATE of this sport. So many legends at the beginning of the fight with Mr. Steward, Mr. Merchant, Mr. Lampley, and Lennox Lewis. Man, miss these days. Love Oscar and obviously wanted him to win, but Pretty boy won by a few points. The buildup was soooooooo bleepin intense.
Oscar was the one pressing the fight, Mayweather was just letting the fight come to him. Mayweather didn't dominate here, all he did was just let Oscar "fade" meaning get tired. A few years younger Oscar would have fucked Floyd up.
All Cotto did was back him up against the ropes. He did not land any clean blows and was getting with counters. The only reason he had Mayweather against the ropes was because Mayweather said beforehand that he was going to stay on the ropes and Cotto didn't have to worry about him "Running". The only fight Mayweather didn't deserve the decision was his first fight against Castillo. In all his other fights it is clear he deserved the decision.
Look at how much smaller Floyd’s skull was compare to by the end of his career. Anyone else experience massive growth in their skull between the ages of 30-38? 💀 🤔
Yeah. He wasn't a natural welterweight until he fought marquez. In fact, his gloves look big on him, and Oscar's look proportionate. Oscar also fought as a junior middleweight and floyd fought a welterweight
Where does this myth come from that Oscar is Floyd's toughest fight! Oscar's NOT Floyd's toughest fight! Cotto out of his prime put up a better fight than Oscar! Miguel landed cleaner shots and did more damage!
I feel like the commentators boosting Oscar’s performance the whole time is why. Almost everything they say is how this is Oscar’s fight to win despite Floyd continuing to make him miss and landing more punches on fewer attempts each round

So now I really know that Floyd Mayweather Jr., is without a doubt a scientist in boxing and there isn't anyone that can stop him. He is just too smart, fast, and explosive. I really didn't give De La Hoya but 2 rds, it was really a one-sided fight. Mayweather rules!!! I can clearly see that many people hate Floyd, but he will retire the best p4p fighter.
10yrs later...Yeah!

I agree...but you're probably dead now

Mayweather has earned my respect. Keep up the great work.
@JGUTTER34 😂😂😂 don’t be mean lol
one of the fights he lost if we're being honest
The sport of boxing could totally lose the little advertizements imprinted into the ring. I find it really distracting.
GREAT HI QUALITY VID!! could you please upload more mayweather fights?
You’re the only channel with the true full broadcast of this fight! Thank you
Mayweather Sr thought Oscar won that fight
so did I wtf
This is why you watch a fight with the sound off because these commentators are not watching the same fight. And this is why HBO boxing is done now. They fell off so badly.
Crowd against floyd, commentators being the worst kind i have seen with bs comments before during and after the match! and floyd still puts up one of the most technical fights i have seen! clinical performance! people dont give him enough credit! guy is truly one of the best!!
He doesn't need the credit, he's the GOAT of this Era whether they like it or not. Master of the "sweet" science!

How do you closely beat someone while losing?
I just watched the fight , it was very entertaining. I believe Floyd won strictly because Floyd was actually able to make Oscar miss, but I never seen Oscar really make Floyd miss. That made the difference in the decision. Blocking punches and moving to evade punches are two different things. Those flurries that Oscar was throwing made him look sloppy at times.
De la Hoya is so stupid and sloppy.Throwing bullshit flurries to impress judges won't fool them . DE LA HOYA SO STUPID I CAN'T BELIEVE HE GOT AWAY WITH THEM MOST OF THE TIMES
whats the name of the song oscar walked out too?
The crowds are unaware of accurate and connecting punches of Mayweather but cheers Oscar's unconnecting flurries

So glad they had a real commentator Emmanuel Stewart) in there to check them and correct them
Man they were so biased it wasn't even justifiable. It really hurts the sport. If your weren't watching the fight you'd think Oscar got robbed. He got dominated.
I am so glad that his buck dancing ass is gone! He was nothing but a hating azz fletching!
And now i know why floyd may flash on that commentary guy. YOU NEVER GIVE ME A FAiR SHAKE.
Larry Merchant is hating big time on Floyd.
Larry Merchant was the ultimate hater! Jim and Larry were horrible
@@el34glo59Floyd can't be beaten tho. He's just the best
The hate and barely concealed rascism towards floyd just oozes from Larry merchant
The Boxing genius Floyd Mayweather Jr
De La Hoya, reminds me of an old school boxer-from the 1930's.
There were cross dressing boxers in the 1930’s?
Ryan’s still a kid. Fought only mid level fighters. Quick hands but

Floyd was literally the best defensively in his prime goat 🐐
GOAT!!!!!!
Floyd is the only fighter to ever be awarded points for defense despite still getting hit.
@@donavonhoward1899 I believe it, that’s why broner didn’t do as good, plus broner isn’t half as good as mayweather, Floyd would use his defensive, shoulder roll and foot work, then come back and counter. looks to me like oscar WAS holding back, but only as part of his strategy, knowing he would tire himself out too fast trying to play that game with mayweather and leaving himself open for the countershots.. he knew he wasnt fast enough and his whole plan was to try to catch mayweather with a lucky power punch and knock him out. when that didnt work he got frustrated and tried to make a show for the fans but wasnt landing any of his mcflurries lol. floyd running or not wouldnt have even mattered

i cant stand larry merchant. he is so not neutral and the questions asking floyd are ridicolous.
Those type of fights come every 20years...well done Floyd...
Oscar talkin bout he laid out a blueprint. He in no way looked impressive.
"He said he would massacre Oscar... He better hurry up if he's gunna massacre him" (talking about mayweather) -Larry Merchant
lol facts
Oscar was the one pressing the fight, Mayweather was just letting the fight come to him. Mayweather didn't dominate here, all he did was just let Oscar "fade" meaning get tired. A few years younger Oscar would have fucked Floyd up.
Leonard seems sus man I’ve always thought that lol.
AtifH Yup, I am a huge Floyd fan but I had him losing that first Castillo fight. However in that fight he did have a torn rotator cuff in that fight.
Why are we talking about Cotto?
Oscar and Pacquiao and Maidana all beat Floyd
Look at how much smaller Floyd’s skull was compare to by the end of his career.
Anyone else experience massive growth in their skull between the ages of 30-38?
💀 🤔
Yeah. He wasn't a natural welterweight until he fought marquez. In fact, his gloves look big on him, and Oscar's look proportionate. Oscar also fought as a junior middleweight and floyd fought a welterweight
I love Emanuel Stuart. He knows his boxing. I bet if Oscar would of had him as his trainer again like the old days. He could of won. But he lost fare.
And yet Oscar beat him so what you say is false
