I attached the ground wire and checked with a multi meter. The ground wire isn't connecting. So unless you have a reason and a work around for a solid ground connection, I'll be returning this. I saw a comment about drilling further but the tiny screw is already in as far as it can go so I don't see what that would accomplish.
We recommend giving our customer support team a call at (866) 294-9244 because your specific issue is not a common one heard by users. As long as you tighten down the ground screw, you should be receiving a grounded connection.
Are the wires provided (aluminum) in the Koda 15" light compatible with copper wire in the electrical ceiling fixture of the house?

What if I don't have a standard junction box in the ceiling and instead have recessed incandescent can enclosure. Will I be able to somehow mount these lights to that can?
Hello Sunny, There is a way in which you can use the flush mount fixture using a recessed can light housing. There are Recessed Light Converter kits you can purchase from a DYI hardware supply store. The easy to follow instructions will show you how to install the converter kit and easily wire the fixture to the power supply. Whats preinstalled outlet box? Can i not just attach the wiring thats there already?
Hello Frank, The LED Ceiling Light is designed to connect to your pre-existing junction box. The junction box is a housing where all the electrical connections (wiring) for that particular circuit is gathered. Basically, if you have a light switch for a fixture in the center of the room, the junction box is where that light fixture would be installed. That is what we are referring to when we say "pre-installed outlet box". Please contact a qualified electrician if you have any questions regarding the wiring for the fixture. KODA.
There is a lag with light when turning on, how do I fix this?
Hello Angela, the lag time is actually a delay in which the driver for the LEDs is being powered on. The reason why there is about a second delay is when the power is turned on, the driver is converting the input AC voltage to DC voltage. It is still considered instant on by industry standards because it reaches full brightness compared to CFL Lighting. How does this light get removed? I read that it clicks in but what happens if you need to replace it?
It's a simple twist of the light to remove it from the inner housing. From there you can unscrew the inner housing from the ceiling.
once the colour temp is set does it stay that colour or does it change every time you turn the light off? The lower reviews I read on Costco indicate this issue. I have a lamp that does this and it in annoying.
Hi there! Yes, the color temperature will stay the same. The best feature about this light is you are able to choose between white light or natural light. To change the color temperature between the warm white light (2700K) and the natural white light (5000K) or vice versa, flip your light switch off for 1 second, then back on. You need to flip the switch within 5 seconds of being off otherwise the color temperature will remain the same. @@KodaBuiltso if my kid flips it back and forth quickly it will cycle through the color temps?
The video skips how to attach the ground "screw" to the top cover. The "screw" provided is a very small bolt, not sharp at all. There doesn't seem to be a pilot hole in the cover, so are we expected to drill one, and if so where? Does it matter?
Hello Bryan, based on the instruction manual, the screw that is supplied with the Grounding Wire and Washer is designed to penetrate the plastic housing. If need be, you can use a small drill bit to start a pilot hole, careful not to fully drill through the housing. There is a small indention (about 3mm in diameter) on the backplate that is designated for the ground screw. This is where you would drill the hole. Again, do not drill completely through the housing, just drill deep enough to allow the teeth of the screw to catch then screw in completely to secure. How do you sync the temperatures with 2 lights on the same switch ?
Pairing up both lights and temperature on the same switch will require you to flip the switch off, on, off, on, off and then on. This should reset the light and both should be the same color/temperature on the switch. Note, if there are more lights on the circuit then you might have to sync these up often with this method.
is ther a way to set the light on one of the colors?

There is about a 5 second window from when the light is turned off until you can turn it back on so that the color of the light does not change. If you turn on the fixture before the 5 seconds, it will change the color temperature being emitted from the light fixture. Hi. I followed the instructions to connect all required wires ( white to white, black to black, and the ground wire to the green wire provided after screwing it to the unit as suggested. I then switched my power on after installing, the ceiling light just stayed on (cannot use the light switch to shut down or turn on - Puzzled!). Any suggestion? Thanks.

When I turn my light on it flashes full brightness for an instant then flickers a little for like 0.2 seconds then it goes to the set(dimmed)setting. Why would it flash bright like this

I hooked up a dimmer for this light and the light keeps buzzing. I check the dimmer and it was listed as compatible with the light. not sure why it’s happening

In regards to the Dimmer: What dimmer system are you using? And how old is the installation? (more than 10 years old?) If you let us know we can look into the particulars. But in general, if you had a dimmer system that used to control regular incandescent and halogen lights, there are sometimes unexpected issues when the older system plays with LED lights.
@@KodaBuilt im using a leviton 6674-PDW. The house is about 18 years old. When i have a regular switch on it there is no problem. I have these lights installed all over my house. Just the 2 i have connected to the dimmer's are buzzing.
How do I disable the feature that switches the light spectrum color? Also is there something I can do to prevent the 1-2 sec delay between the time the light switch has been flicked and when the light actually turns on?
Hello Amit, the LED Ceiling Light is designed to change the color temperature when you quickly turn on and off the light switch. Additionally, the delay you are experiencing is the driver for the LEDs being powered on. It is still considered an instant on because the delay is typically less than 1 second to reach full brightness compared to CFL lighting. @@Gantzz321 The color changing feature cannot be disable, this is an integrated feature designed for users to change the color of the light to suit their lighting needs. I understand you frustrations with the fixture changing color feature, however if you wait for more than 5 seconds between turning on and off the fixture it will remain on the color option of your choosing.

no place to put the ground wire. Mine has a cardboard box. Am I supposed to open that?

trade with me, mine switching every single time, and I hate it, Turn light on, wrong light setting, flick light switch to change it. Simple enough, for the first 10 times you enter the room, then you want to rip it out and smash it to pieces because they didn't add anyway to have a selection PERMINATLY on.

This light doesn't use a light bulb! It uses integrated LED.

@@KodaBuilt It has been a year since James told you about this. The instructions in the light I just bought are not fixed and the manual on-line is not fixed. Furthermore, when I called your help line, the two people I talked to didn't know how to attach the ground. One even told me to drill a hole in the top of the light myself. Please get this fixed.
can I turn it blue?

So the light is permanently set to toggle between the two colours. You basically switch it on, and get 2700K warm light, switch it off quickly and then on again and you get 4000K natural white. It only stays on one or the other, when the light is on. As soon as you switch it off, it toggles again. Very annoying and a terrible idea. No wonder it is on sale at Costco.
Actually, this light will stay on the last color temperature you left it on when the light turned off. It won't toggle unless you direct it to. This light is actually one of Costco's best selling lighting products on Costco.com with a 4.6 star rating with 550 reviews.

While viewing this TH-cam video, you can turn on subtitles/Closed Captions. To locate, it is the CC button in the bottom right hand corner of the video. Click the CC button to turn on the subtitles.
