A native of San Antonio, TX, David Erick Ramos is a professional ocarinist with a goal to inspire people to challenge themselves musically and connect with others through the ocarina. For over ten years, David has used TH-cam as a platform to showcase the instrument with original and cover music, as well as his educational series "OcTalk!", featuring tutorials and informational videos about the ocarina.
The ocarina septet, an ensemble of seven ocarinas, is a tradition going back to the birthplace of the ocarina (Budrio, Italy). Since the ocarina's invention in 1853, it was intended to be an ensemble instrument in seven sizes, from Soprano to Contrabass. The tradition of the ocarina septet is continued today throughout Europe, Asia, and through America's first Ocarina Septet, Ocabanda, founded by David Erick Ramos. / ocabanda

My three-year-old daughter says " David Erick Ramos doesn't have a mustache or beard. Those must be his older brothers"
man, your playing is so TIGHT! love this.
Thanks dude!! The harmonies kicked my butt for sure, haha.
My two favorite music TH-camrs in the same place? What is this, my birthday?
Ayyyyy
Yep this song is incredible 🧚🏻♀️
Hiiiiiiiii I love ur vids
Has a beard because he has been playing botw for the past month straight
hes moving like kass, side to side
Someone needs to mod this into the f***ing game right now! I love it!!! Cheers David, keep the good work up!
Oh man, I can't believe that, with all the BotW music I've listened to recently, I've missed this one! I love how easily I can hear the influence from the other Zelda song that makes its way into Kass's Theme in your rendition. This version reminds me a lot of what you might hear at a carnival, particularly on one of the old-fashioned carousel rides.
As a side note, the ocarinas really remind me of the Rito children singing...
So cool
Yesssss! I love this song!
Me too!!!
This has been on repeat in my head
Im not subscribed to you that long, but i followed your videos befor. You were the reason to actually try to play ocarina.. now I have 5 Ocarinas at home in my drawer because im too stupid to get a clear tone out of them without it sounding "airy" .. Its even one expensive Ocarina from STL.. The lovely Ice Ocarina.. and everytime I see a new video, I feel the urge to try it again.. and as soon my mouth hits the mouthpiece... there are awefull tones.. jesus why is this so hard to learn.. keep up your good work. You are such an inspiration. Greetings from germany.
+Taylu Green The hardest part is understanding how much air your ocarina takes. More specifically, how much air it takes for each note. Assuming you have one in C, try playing along with a keyboard by playing the C on the keyboard, then the Ocarina, and working your way up the scale, doing your best to match the pitch and noticing how much your breath increases!
I find it helpful to use a tuner to find out what note I'm playing. The one I use is from a website called Flute Tunes. Just go to google and search "free online tuner flute tunes" (I think TH-cam will block my comment if I share the link). The tuner can detect what note you're playing. I think the Ice Ocarina is in G major? So cover all the holes (except the subholes) and blow harder until the tuner detects G :) Sometimes you get that airy sound, or wrong notes because your'e not blowing hard enough. Hopefully this helps. Don't give up the ocarina, it's such a beautiful instrument.
I cant get enough of this song
Pulling off a beard, playing the Ocarina, is there anything this guy can't do
Mi mayor inspiración para tocar la ocarina sos vos, dios miiioooo
Of course, you of all people would choose to cover this beautiful, whimsical and strangely nostalgic piece. I'm smiling as I listen, yet there is a pang of sadness in this, somehow. A kind of longing.
Wow, you REALLY outdid yourself! Fantastic!!
My ears can't unhear the 2-5-1 bass line from the original arrangement (around the beginning of the first section 0:01), so the 2-4-1 just stabs my ears when I least expect it. 😂
Great arrangement regardless.
This is a great rendition of one of the best songs to come out of that game. Great work David!
I'm loving this song, I just put it on repeat for hours as i worked on a research papaer.
I find this channel-> I subscribe->I love this channel->WTF THIS IS A F*CKING GENEUS
Started finally playing Botw, met Kass some days ago and I'm in love with his character and songs you did it so good
So cool! Sounds like a carnival jingle you'd hear at the fairgrounds.
This is just too damn majestic.
I love that massive bass ocarina!!
Got my first ocarina a few days ago. I used your videos to learn a couple of songs on it, but unfortunately, i had an allergic reaction to the straw fire finish. Luckily (after swollen lips and a doctors visit), songbird allowed me to exchange my double ac focalinc for their double ocarina of time! Can’t wait to get my ocarina so i can get back to playing alongside your videos. Much love and support from Alabama!
When I went to Anime Expo '17 and one of the ocarina sellers said I played pretty well after trying the new ocarina I bought from them, I felt a sense of pride, 'specially since 1) I got decent all from being inspired by David's original Zelda on Ocarina video. 2) David and co. were actually playing at the con and I saw 'em in person!
Thanks for continuing to show the beauty of my favorite instrument and hope to catch one of your performances at future cons :D

Here's a version I did--the shorter and much simpler version some months before this masterpiece. Not so much a plug as it is proof that I wouldn't have made the vid had your vids not shown me the ocarina all those years ago. Thanks again!
so good as always!
Thank you!!
This is amazing! Also everyone’s talking about the beard like it’s strange but it’s not, it’s obviously a consequence of him Time Travelling all the time with his Ocarina Skills. But seriously I really enjoyed listening to this video.
So glad this channel is still around, all the best for the new year
I am having this on repeat for the rest of the day.
this is smoothly beautiful😊
This sounds so peaceful and relaxing on the ocarina, great playing :)
Who doesn’t love Kass’ theme?! We just need some accordion! Thanks David!
I’m so happy to see that you still do this, my friend. I’ve been following you on and off for the past fifteen years. I wish I had been able to keep up my ocarina playing as well…
Beautiful David! Excellent way to show young musicians the different Ocarinas in the family! :)
I am getting my Ocarina soon, and your channel has helped me a lot in my decisions. Thank you!
You play it nicely. Have a nice day/night!
This is so much more haunting when played like this.
Yes! I love this song and it is great to hear you play it! It sounds so good on an ocarina septet!
This is my favorite track from BOTW, thanks SO MUCH for doing it! Please do my second favorite, Vah Naboris's theme, the one where you're chasing it in the desert
Wow so good. Also the ocarina at the bottom inner right kinda looks like a hairdryer which is fun
I absolutely love this song! Thank you for doing it
Got my first ocarina yesterday, such an inspiration. #noshavenovember
BTW, love your work man.
Beautiful!
Thanks that is great! The (missing) music in BOTW is the only thing that I did not like about the game. Did not realize what it was until I entered Hyrule castle and finally was put in a mood by the music there!
Check out "The music of Breath of the Wild" from Mark Brown, and also 8-bit music theory's series on the music of Breath of the Wild.
As Mark says in his video "(the music in) ocarina of time is heroic, wind waker is optimistic, and majora's mask is foreboding. So what about BotW? Well, Link is woken up in a ruined kingdom, all his friends are dead or missing, and he has lost is memory to boot. This is a melancholic game, and the quiet, slow and subdued music really fills the bill."
Perhaps it will help you realise that the music in BotW is not missing, it just fits what's the mood of the story this time :)
Javier Quinteros Urzúa You are absolutely right about this. But still I missed a more present music in the game many times as I love the music in the Zelda game. I also loved quite moments particularly when the sun just rose or Link entered a new area. But when I was exploring a mountain area / desert and fighting with enemies I would have liked some music that did not just feel like some background music (maybe I got a bit annoyed by this music in the cold mountains as I spent quite some time there searching for the entry of one shrine 😉). Still I love the game and also its melancholic nature but the songs were not that memorable as in other games where you can also find melancholic pieces.
Lwaxana2013 the guardian music though
Yea that was the only thing I didn’t like about the game either. Man I was so excited when I found Kass for the first time. I heard music and ran straight towards it. And now that I’m at Hyrule Castle im like FINALLY SOME MUSIC!
Jamie Sowers but there’s music in the Divine beasts.
Dude what is it about this cover that’s causing my heartstrings to get tugged? The original gives positive vibes, but this feels like those vibes are amplified to where I feel it in my soul
This is my new favorite of your ocarina ensemble vids.
Beautiful! The perfect harmonies and cleanliness of your notes really set you apart. I first found your stone tower temple and now all of this since then. Well done, man. Talent and dedication.
Dave. This was absolutely wonderful. I loved this. Please dont stop with your content:] you made my day so much better with this cover.
I really love to play this song on piano, and on ocarinas it sounds perfect ❤
I'll have 2 ocarinas for Chrismas, I hope that one day I could play that as well as you do !
