Right and with Tesla trade prices in the toilet, I dont think its worth the money. I could get the few tiny chips after 4 years fixed for much less than the 7K PPF install price.
@@liam1062 I think it's pretty cheap to do it yourself... but, I tend to agreed that professional PPF is way overpriced. I have a 2020 Model Y and never put anything on it. I have all the typical nicks and bump, micro-scratches, etc. I'm going to bring to a body shop this summer and see what they can do with it.
@@jebaker2 yeah but even at $3500 diy, I am not sure anyone will pay you an extra $3500 just because you have PPF. I looked at 3 Model S recently at a used car dealer. All were the same price even though 1 had full PPF. Maybe on private sale you may get a few dollars more.
I ordered from drive protected after seeing your DIY a while ago. Well worth it! I actually need to order another side piece I applied incorrectly so there is a big bubble by the door handle lol
I know this saves you a lot of money, but I think I’ll save up and have someone else do it. I was getting frustrated just watching some of the trouble spots lol
You spent so much time promoting products I never saw whether the PPF protected the car from the deeper damage. I have PPF. I drove into garage with trunk up, ignoring all sorts of warnings by the car. The trunk hit the cement siding on the top of the garage, damaging it. The car had streaks of white on the PPF which came off with just window cleaner and a soft cloth, no heavy rubbing. The garage needed repainting to cover the damage.
I’m glad you’re able to do this. I have neither the time nor patience to do this myself. 😂
Lol

They have a guarantee. Should be able to get a new piece for just the cost of shipping
You have much more patience than I do. I was starting to worry about that top part by the hood that you kept fiddling with. 😂

I can hear your cursing on the left side when it wouldn’t stick lol
Great video! I see your skills! Nice!
Nice video 😊
Cheers
sunlight also warms the surface
Nice job. How long did it take you to do that procedure?
a lot longer than the 15 minute video LOL
Did your sentry mode get the license plate?
Lesson was learned about using sentry mode 🤦♂️

I thought the same. We never saw where his car was hit after the PPF was removed. '😂 I guess he wouldn't have put the new PPF on if there was damage.
If you went to the end he did sjhopw that there was NO damage to the underlining paint.
What a noob mistake. Nothing can prevent stupidity unfortunately 😂
I showed it very clearly. No damage made it to the paint. But, you’d have to watch to the end to see that 🤷♂️
Was there no damage to the car?
Indeed!
@@BeardedTeslaGuy oh I figured u needed to get the bumper replaced.. maybe you said that in video before applying new ppf
Rusted?
Lol
Instead of hot water, use a hair dryer to heat the film.
Not a bad idea
