I can do it. Do you guys wanna see me do this suggestion? ----------------------------------------- *edit November 9th 2023. (because everyone keeps asking) > whoops I totally forgot I wrote this comment. to be honest I don't really remember what I meant when I said I could do this suggestion. I might just have to take the audio from this video to create any music with it
Thank you for this explanation. I was playing with such pipe a week ago and noticed this. I'm glad that my explanation was really close to the actual one.
Thank you for explaining something we all may have wondered about but not actually gotten around to learning about. You channel is a treasure--thanks so much!
Always like your videos they are so genuine. Is there a way that you can fill helium and play some sound or a music from a speaker inside a vacuum chamber? Would be a great idea to find out how sound waves behave in a complete helium environment :)
you should try the radiometer in the vacuum chamber. it's in partial vacuum by itself but by putting it in full vacuum we can see if it's rotating due to photon momentum or not.
I had a whirly tube as a kid in the 70s, in Canada. I was four when I got it, and I loved that thing. I had it until we moved house when I was nine and most of my old little kid toys went to my mother’s classroom.
Yes! So many people get this wrong. A person can easily sing along to a familiar song, in tune, on helium because the pitch of their voice is not affected. This and "why do mirrors flip things horizontally but not vertically?" are two questions I constantly see explained incorrectly.
Would the added pressure from the helium tank not also increase airspeed therefore increase pitch? So now the question is, how much did the helium affect the tubes pitch vs the increased pressure?
What would happen if you inhale the same amount of helium and sulfur hexafluoride at the same time? Would your voice sound normal or will it start high pitched and go really deep?
How much, if any, of the apparent pitch change is from the sound accelerating in the higher density surrounding air? Does the sound accelerate at all when transitioning between the helium and the air?
Hii.... Could you PLEASE demonstrate that the attraction of water coming out from a tap to an electrostatically charged cup is not because of the attraction with the H2O molecule itself , but due to the ions present in the tap water. Also, perform the same experiment with de-ionised water and solve the dillema!!
I feel like this could have been longer. You could have sang a note into your pitch measuring device to see if the pitch actually changes or something. Regardless I'm glad you did this video so you could debunk the idea that helium changes the fundamental pitch of your voice.
1:13 'you can also hear something' yeah, the background music xD
That's what i thought at first xD

We will get helium-3 from the moon
@@catakuri6678 Hello kind Viewer! ;)
Oh yeah with the helium shortage
Because helium is disappearing. But we can just get it from other planets, they don't need it anyways lol

The only thing I hate about your videos is that they are way to short. I love learning. Make your videos longer. It really a great channel. Thanks
Like your BYU shirt
Beautiful explanation.
how were you able to make that war memorial tune in the beginning?
Chariots of fire, by Vangelis. 😎

0:43 HOW DID YOU NOT SMACK YOUR HEAD
Great video as always! Just a note though, isn't 'Timbre' pronounced as "tam-bur" "tam-ber", or is it a regional thing?
Thanks that you caught that I learned this this year in my vocal and instrumental music classes. Kinda cool
At least from what I know it’s pronounced tim-ber or tim-bur
Always informative.

I really do like your videos they are so cool 1000 March for your videos a big thumbs up
The tune it created was by Vangelis - Chariots of fire
Liked the idea
I have one of those whirly tubes, it's amazing ☆
I just inhaled helium for fun, go upstairs and see you uploaded this video.
Love your smile !
I love this man.
Not really that important, but "timbre" is usually pronounced as if it was spelled "tam-ber" - super confusing and not obvious, I know.
This man is awesome 👏

"okay guys, I'm gonna show you what helium does to your voice"

Wow, you can use this tube to explain overtone and harmonic quite well... but it starts with the second harmonic, where is the base note?
Nice!!!

Can you put a bloogle resonator on like a rotating motor and see how high pitch it can get?
Would make a wind symphony with that tube😂😂
You should buy some sulfur hexaflouride and make you sound like James Earl Jones!
