Seeing that old Rig makes me think about when I was a kid. My father had an 85' or 86' Freightliner. It looked almost exactly the same except it was ref and only had a single white stripe on each side. I loved going out with him on jobs. We would get up well before Dawn, make our lunches, and head out to the yard. When we got to the location where we would be dropping our first load the roachcoach would be there, and that's when we would have breakfast (hot link and egg sandwiches, breakfast of champions). By mid-day the soothing sound of the jakebrake would have me dozing off to sleep, and my dad would call over, "Wake up One Feather, almost time for lunch." (One Feather was the handle my maternal grandfather gave me). Then over lunch my father would repeat the story of how his father drove truck and helped in the construction of Disneyland by hauling dirt around.
Jeff, I have to thank you for uploading this. I haven't had many positive things to think about lately, but this has brought up some good memories to carry me through.

Jeff, we farm and have multiple semis. I am happy that more people are starting to see trucking in real time like what you said about aviation. I feel the same way. I’m just going to say that ATS is cheaper than owning a semi in IL. You pay 14,000 dollars for insurance and licensing alone without fuel, and repair costs. I love to see that more people are liking to get into the trucking area. The country’s shipping rolls on 18 wheels. Good job Jeff and love your vids.

FLC’s are the most under appreciated trucks out there.. I love my A model but my FLC has the most comfortable interior of any truck I’ve driven. Sweet to see it on ATS!

This is awesome. I live near Lewiston, and a lot of my favorite channels have been to Lewiston lately, IRL and in sims.
Man I wish it only took 33 minutes to get from Nampa to Lewiston haha. As an Idaho native I’ve gotta say the scenery and the names of everything were very accurate. Loved this one!

Also Idaho is mostly farm and ranching, so no one cares about engine brakes, except for those stuffy rich people who have second or third homes in the ski towns. You are correct that you could not corner that fast pulling hay bails on doubles; I usually see one or two lost bails a week.
The thing about games people forget is its a game, its not going to be perfect. Though I kind of have to give ATS props for getting the AI to the correct level of stupid, there is a reason so many of us drivers have dash cams.
I love when they cut me off and hit the brakes when we're doing 80 and there is no one in fromt of them...

You CAN do jake brake but just don't do it in front
of D.o.t , state police, sheriff, cop, and some other cops
Its not like somebody will call the cops cause of you jake brakin. Trust me on this one
I'd rather hear a jake brake than a ricer tbh
As a trucker who has driven across all 38 continental us states for 3 straight years, if you want to drive closer to how we drive, we arent supposed to shift across railroad tracks, around any corners or turns, or going downhill. I got more tips if you are curious
Personally I love simulator type games because they give me a chance to experience doing something that I otherwise wouldn't experience outside of my routine life. I drove a commercial truck in real life years ago but I don't now and ATS gives me the chance to relive some of that. There's definitely aspects of trucking that are missing but you can pretend and make things more realistic yourself. I wouldn't want ATS to be 1:1. Imagine sitting on the simulator for a real 1,600 mile trip, that just doesn't sound fun to me. It is supposed to still be fun. Same with flight sim. Yes you could make every single button and switch do what they're supposed to and have to do a real life checklist, but I don't think most people would enjoy that. I think they get the majority of the systems simulated. I didn't know squat about flying till I started playing FSX, but I read a lot and watched a lot of videos and learned. Anyway just my two cents. They are still games and these software companies are going to try and appeal to most people and if you want more, that's what mods are for!
Man, I can't wait to get a hold of this Simulator, I grew up around Truck's and I Love them!

I used to Run Spokane to Mccall and Mt Home making stops along the way did this run 2 times a week fun in summertime work in the winter. been 3 years i miss the run.
Speaking of noise I got a DVD of KISS under the Brooklyn Bridge in concert and people called saying they had to work in the morning and could not sleep, they got the message to Paul Stanley and he told the audience people trying to sleep; so they could only do 1 more song so we will make it a loud one and played their battle cry.....Detroit Rock City and it was deafening !!
20:00 honestly I agree non aviation sim users playing em its great because it gives them the sort of realistic feel of the sim and find a great aviation simulator experience.I think everyone should try out simulators either aviation or truck or Farming its great experience and a fun time
Oh yeah, she’s a nice one for sure! A tip I learned driving is taking a turn onto a street at 10-15 mph in 5th gear. I know it’s top heavy but the idle can go as low as 400 without stalling and that’s roughly 3-5 mph.
Semi trucks in the 80's were automatically badass in my book & hearing that engine is music to my ears.

So this mod was being developed by XBS who I think took it over from another person who had made a few Freightliner models and was working on them, the post showed really good progress and then finally this rig was released with the others still being developed, then all the sudden the post was removed and apparently it broke some rule that SCS had on the forums and was taken down, and then a thread was started talking about what happened and it was also removed by a forum moderator. You can get this model by googling "Freightliner FLC by XBS" and download it from the mod website (atsmods.lt).

FYI, when first starting shouldn't really rev over 1500; I usually set high idle to 1100 if I need to build air up. anyway, just a tip. Great vid anyway jeff, as always you're awesome
FYI On OLDER trucks its not ok but on NEWER models like the newer Volvo you can because of the engine. On older models the engine is more worn and older and "should not be on the road because it is a hazard for the people diving behind the trucker" "But our newer Volvo model does not have the limitations the older/broken models" "like the old peterbilt 359" "nowadays if you seen them on the road there broke down" "Why?" "Becasue they use more older engines." Just a quote from volvo. This is why i don't like volvo
Okay, I driving kennys mainly and prefer the Kenny over the scannia but t h e scannia is a lot more comfy then the Kenny. So they all have their up and downs it's about what the Driver prefers to drive.
Jeff should do a Setup Tour once the new Gaming Computer comes in. I would possibly suggest Jeff since he Encodes a lot. Get a Separate PC one to do Record/Stream on. Also one to do the gaming on so your not putting so much stress on one System to do everything. Unless you go Duel Graphics cards in SLI.

If you miss the HUD notification for the weigh station, you can look at the light on your transponder. If it's green, you pass. If it's red, you stop.
About the bypass thing if you see the blue reader on the window mount there will be a green light to bypass and a red light to pull in

I’m a little bit late so I doubt this will help. But that blue box at the center of the divider there is a light that will activate. Either red which means you are subject to inspection, or green which means you have been cleared to continue travel. I usually run with no hud so that helps tremendously. Hope this reaches someone.
Jeff, thanks for another cool video, and your rambling about the new Flight Sim. Like you, I was once a private pilot, just starting IFR, but ran out of dollars just as the FAA Meds we’re catching up to me. No way would they pass me, now! 🤣
But I giggled at your comments about “frame stutter”, remembering my Commodore Amiga circa 1986 and the first sim: a whopping one frame per second! We Men had to be ahead of the airplane in those days!!

I play sim games to relax and take in the view, Sim and tycoon games are some of the best games around to just sit back and relax and have some casual fun

Hey man love the videos. I know you don't go fully by the way things are in the real world but honestly that's what makes the Sims a lot more fun to watch. Keep it up do what you do to make it fun for you. To all the ones that don't enjoy these or other sims you don't have to view them. Enjoy them for what they are because Jeff does a great job making the videos. They don't need to be perfect. This is purely for enjoyment.

It's a great truck, I just don't know where to find it. Apparently it was removed over a questionable skin, so that sucks.
It was removed because people said the 88 looked Like an SS logo. Like one of the Nazi divisions. Just google it and you can find the truck on any mod site

Regarding your comments on MSFS in this video:
I love flight sim because its so accessible and 'complete'. The masses of DLC, patches, mods and things you have to do to get Xplane or DCS at a polished state was daunting and stopped me from getting into it after being tempted by your videos. I love that flight sim just 'works' straight out the box, and looks fantastic.
I can understand the gating in the community when theyve put up with all the fiddliness of their aeging sims, bolting on modules and mods over the years, then a new, fancy all-singing sim comes along that is so easy to use that big name streamers like pewdiepie are shrieking over it on another one of their wacky videos.
I'm hugely thankful for flight sim though - its incredible!

Jeff a few things I can think of that may help, if it's on a HDD try putting it on an SSD or a different drive. Also for your new PC you might want to consider water cooling. That GPU use would greatly benefit. Also, an i9 isn't better for gaming, but it would be for encoding. However, you use your GPU for that. Most games are better on an i7. Check for the games you play before you order!
Also, there is a way for OBS to record/stream from another PC. Might want to convert the current one into something like that. Have not done too much with this, but I got it working. Might help release some resources you can use to game enjoyably.

I removed my traffic mod and that helped like crazy could try that and see of lag goes away
Hey Jeff, do you have your game on your HDD or SSD? I usually fix stutters similar to this by throwing the game into my fastest drive. I haven't played ATS un a while so idk if this will solve the stutters. Sometimes games specially with mods requires a lot of data stream that a HDD might have difficulty.
