MEN LIKE THESE ARE THE REAL TRUCKER'S THANKS FOR PAVING THE WAY FOR US. THEY COULDN'T PICK OUT A REAL TRUCKER IF THEY WANTED TO ISN'T THAT THE TRUTH...
A CB Radio has helped me a few times personally, and I hoped I have helped 100 others over the last 20 years(I am not a driver). A really good interview with a really cool fella again, thank you Mr Mai for the content.
That is the most beautiful freightliner i've ever seen and what a humble owner. Best and most reliable motor cummins ever made, including the ntc 475 tt and the kta motors.
A good friend, family man, love of country and a trucker? I would to chit chat with him. Good interview. It would be great to have his information in the description. Thanks for sharing.
I have two of them engines one on a 359 pete and one in an 85 kw but I currently drive my 99 pete but I will be putting these old trucks to work! They will make you money!
@@MuthaTrucker thank you man for your content and it saddens me the state of the trucking industry I’m going to start my own TH-cam channel to help educate people if they want to put us out of work much like you are doing and Trucker‘s like me greatly appreciate that! Thanks man hats off to you!!!
Great Story of a great driver with a Freightliner. The Freightliner was Consolidated Freightways tractor. It was around that time in the 1980's, the Government told CF "They were going to have to sell Freightliner, it was a monopoly for the freight company, and sell tractors". As an driver for CF, I do recall how the shops maintained their tractors, which featured air starters, and had the big cummings diesel or the 3406 B Cat diesels.- Mercedes was the buyer of the Freightliner. I'm of the opinion that Mercedes has cheapened the quality of a great tractor, for the sake of mass production, and large profits.
I don't know u but u helped my brother ur are my brother my god bless u n ur family with health wealth peace be bless ed in the most holy name Jesus Christ amen
To think at the time in 1980, this would be one of the first of many tractors to replace the cabovers in North America and usher in a new age in trucking.
Pretty sure its got an MVT valve on it, the timing is all controlled by air so once it builds 60psi the smoke goes away and the motor is actually in time. My 350 big cam II is the same. Thats the only time it smokes.
I spent many years behind the wheel of a rig. I quit driving a few years ago due to health.one thing I did was dress for success when going to a shipper, jeans, dress shirt, and boots. I'm still not comfy driving a rig in shorts and flip flops!!
Anybody know where I can find info about buying a pre emissions truck? As in if I do am I going to have to sell it cause I won't be able to run it? I mean aside from CA.
take this old truck apart every single little part and the inventory all the metal, wires, aluminum and plastic. Then take a brand new truck same class and do the same, take it all apart and separate the mental, plastic, wiring and aluminum. You would be shocked how this old truck has a few feet of wiring, almost no plastic and a whole lotta steal and aluminum. Vs a new truck is almost a few miles of wiring, over 3,000 sensors that the ecm reads off of (that’s a fact not exaggeration. That’s direct from shop manual) and a few hundred pounds of plastic. This old truck will last another 30 years if cared for and service and rebuilt per the builders instructions (yes , old trucks came with rebuild instructions that way u can rebuild it several times over yourself and get several million miles out of the truck) . Vs a new truck ... Use it for 300-500k miles and then recycle it in the garage cause the cost to rebuild it is greater then buying a new one. Let’s not talk about resale values.
He is not representing you Cascadia drivers...this isn't a drop nose curb sniffer...its a real truck, w metal and a real motor and stuff, you won't find any of that on the Cascadia 🤣
