tbh it's not meta, trash players spam the art hoping it catches someone but in reality it's so damn easy to avoid and there's tons of better options for bleed.

@@metasaurus3233 and tbh rivers is meta, especially in a gank squad. Not as horrible by itself cause there are hard counters like glintstone pebble. In a gank, rivers can do almost insta bleed which stuns into teammates attacks so I’d def consider it meta in that regard.

This is a really cool weapon, the WA reminds me of Lady Maria's katana attacks from BB - I think I might respec my current character just to use this! if they fix this scaling bug (if it even is a bug) then this weapon would be much stronger :D
I feel like its more like sekiro play because the weapon is the same when you use the slash in sekiro 🤷♂️
I doubt its a bug, with arcane you can melt in pve with bleeding

It doesnt even have scaling for its dex either, this bug only effects some arcane weapons, rivers of blood is unfortunately one of them, making it useless later in the game in both PvE and PvP. I'm using an arcane weapon called the Bloody Helice and it's scaling isn't bugged.
Edit: This is why you see his basic attack damage being so low in the invasion showcase.
@@alessandrv Another way to know its a bug is that it doesnt get any negative damage if you dont meet the stat requirements. This means you can use these weapons without investing any stats into str dex or arcane at all and still get the full damage.
@@notan3144 The bug seems to affect all weapons that naturally scale with arcane and/or scale with arcane and have a separate damage type. Weapons infused to scale with arcane are not affected by this bug. The only exception to this is Reduvia, which has natural arcane scaling and bleed, but scales fine.

Heads up for anyone doing Varré's questline. Performing the ritual for the finger item turns your character's eyes blood-red. You can disable this in the customize screen under eyes, but it will forever overwrite any other eye changes like the one from dragon communion church. Get the invasion finger at volcano manor if you don't wanna have red eyes.

Personally i wanted to thank ChaseTheBestInvader for showcasing pvp in mid-game stage for those who doesn't have enough time to make sl150 characters right away and who wants to pvp asap. Best content as alaways and looking forward to see other weapons! (actually whould really like to see moonveil, just got it recently and this thing shreds bosses)

150 invasions are insane. Most weapons seem to one to two shot you. I have 40 health and was getting absolutely desimated by magic spam.
Moonveil is litteraly the most popular weapon on the game I'd rather him play with the laser shield than the weapon every other pvp season I invade has

@@DizzyTrendermen I know. I'm just heavily spec'd into faith and int. So I can get as much damage out of the death spells as possible. I'm at 160 in anticipation of the new meta level.
Lord of bloods exultation talisman icreases blood loss damage by %20 you should definetly try that with this build

I think the dmg increase is overall for a few secs after a bloodloss inflict

If you use seppuku it automatically applies the buff, to your left and right weapon. Along with the seppuku buff its busted op dual wielding.

Neat thing I found. If you're dual wielding the same weapons there's no animation for switching the weapons in menu. Basically you can switch weapon arts without people knowing which blade you're using. For instance I use two cleanrot blood swords, but they have different weapon arts. Since it's the same weapon you can't tell which one I'm using so you never know which weapon art I'll be using.
I don't know if this has already been discovered, but it is worth covering.
That is a thing in Dark Souls 3 too, but wasn't so useful as it seems to be in Elden Ring.
@@honounome I kind of hope they don't patch it. It's neat tech imo, but if they do patch it I won't be disappointed either.
The wizards all have that rock sling gravity magic because the spell and a staff that starts with S int scaling and boosts gravity magic are relatively easily available early game in the caelid region via the teleport in the dragon ruins and a bit of running.
Just dodge toward it and the spell will never hit you.
Rock sling is also great for pve, enemies will only dodge the initial cast and never try to dodge the projectiles.
Imagine complaining about Rock sling tho 💀 It doesn’t even move fast
The weapon skill DOES scale, but the basic attacks do not with the glitch
Wait, is it? From what I've seen in this video so far the first two slashes deal like 60-80 damage each which seem really low if it's scaled.
@@ahmadyulinu im not sure what parts of which weapon skills properly scale from the glitch, but from testing, even taking bleed procs out of consideration, there are instances during the glitched weapons' skills that actually scale properly. Its not every hit of the weapon skills on some weapons, but there are certain attacks within a skill that do work. It's really weird.

@@ahmadyulinu it's glitched where normal weapon attacks aren't scaled, the weapon art is scaled with arcane. Weapon arts don't scale with stats that don't matter with it. For example the moon veil katana, if i high dex but low int, I'll have strong normal attacks but the weapon art only scales with INT not Dex so it won't be as strong
The scaling glitch makes me feel bad for the Regalia of Eochaid & Marais Executioner Sword, they look so cool but the lack of scaling really hurts.

Got some thoughts though, I think it made more sense to have you go over the moveset before the invasions so that we understand what's going on watching you go to town on people.
Also would be nice to see you go through more of your gear before invasions so we know what bonuses you have.
Finally, as the game is still new you might want to consider adding some information on where some of the items are found (if you remember) though that would be best to save for the end of the video along with a spoiler warning.
Pumped that the pvp videos are starting to come out.
From what I've seen, blood does scale. The only place its broken is when its split stat i.e. physical and fire, that breaks arcane scaling supposedly

As someone who doesn't have this game yet, these enemies and weapons/spells are so freaking awesome and kinda op lol compared to the other souls games

PvP looks so good every build is diverse even the wizards use different spells, I guess it's do to the fact that there's so many wizard stuff

Pvp is ass wtf are you talking about? All people do is spam spells in a gank and abuse how strong bleed is right now. As well as use the broken blood slash and that magic katana slash attack
Pvp is just a one shot fest
I use it with a faith build since the scaling is currently broken, it’s pretty fun to use and def my favorite weapon in the game. Probably gonna respec into a mainly dex build with enough arcane to use the RoB katana
Since it's bugged atm... if the target can bleed, you only need enough Dex to use the weapon.

I been doing lv80 invasions all morning and having a blast…also ganking teams trying to beat a tree sentinel sooo not the most fair of invasions.
As for your question with the gravity-magic: because it does poise-damage and because it has a good range and weird tracking. NPC-Invaders can't really deal that well with that particular spell (since the actual damage effect is delayed). And I guess because the Gravity-Bonus-Staff is un-upgradable (and has relatively high Spell Bonus relatively early, it is on par with the other +14 staves)
(especially that Perceptor Miriam NPC-Invader with his Magic Bow Spell can be dominated with that.)
That Katana is currently bugged and does not scale with any stat
The flask can increase damage with the fire buff.

The reason every wizard has gravity magic is due to the best staff boosts it (Meteorite staff).

I got to play Elden Ring for one day before my PC upgrades arrived, and I had to take it in to get them installed. It'll be worth the wait though.
Uchigatana with bloody slash and bloodflame blade is just rivers of blood but better. I used that until i got the hand of malenia which is my new fav.
Double slash nogatchi(washing pole) can outrange and stagger malenia's WA
That setup is only better than rivers of blood because the scaling is broken. Once the scaling is fixed ROB will be much better than uchi
5:50 Mages use Rock Throw because it breaks stance on bosses and big enemies. Great spell. Would never use in PvP though, it's easily dodged and I don't see it hitting players often.
Got a +9 one of these atm, its been put in my off hand cause my Uchi does more damage. Can not stress enough that until they fix this, the lack of scaling cripples it.
Note: the Uchi is +16, will be upgrading it asap.
I can’t wait for this weapon to have raw damage scaling. Will be my main for quite awhile
The wakizashi pairs with this weapon. I haven't found the rivers of blood yet but the wakizashi is still super fun to use with other katanas. It can also be reenforced with an ash of war. Since it's a dagger, parry is compatible for it and I believe it takes priority over the right hand weapon art (like sheilds would) and you can parry with your left hand instead of your right, while wielding a katana. I've never used parry and I have yet to test this but it seems the okina demon weapons allow for some extra weeb stuff
It does not. You cant Power Stance it with actual katanas.
@@AssoSiaa maybe it's because I haven't updated yet but as of the launch version on Xbox series S, I can powerstances with moonveil. In the wakizashi description it says it was paired with a "full size katana" so idk if it was meant to specifically refer to the river of blood or what.

First Elding Ring Invasion. Glorious
This is the perfect weapon if you think Elden Ring needs an easy mode. I wouldnt recommend getting this weapon, as it has a passive effect: it extends the duration of youre virginity by 1 day when wielded. It has S scaling in Cringe, same as moonveil, so its really only for full cringe builds.

One of the main reasons I started Elden ring was because I watch a lot of your vids. Got hooked when I got baited by your waifu thumbnails years ago even though I've never played any souls game aside from Sekiro (if that even counts) and Code Vein.
Now all I want in my gameplay is to get invaded by you but I'm still around 40 and I don't want to speed through and ruin my own gameplay. I hope you're still playing ER for years to come.
if you dont want to do the questline of Vera you can also get an infinite invasion finger from the volcano manor; unsure whether they are different in any way

Yo! use the lord of exultation medal, rotten winged medal, and White mask(varre's) together. The winged one increases dmg greatly with successive attacks, and the mask further increases dmg with blood loss nearby ON TOP of the exultation dmg boost!

been doing sl 100 strength invasions in giant's peak and man I am getting my ass whooped by katana and magic builds, I'd say strength is super good for general PVE but dex and magic is the way to go for PVP right now it seems.

The katanas have always been some of my favorite weapons in these games but holy shit are the katanas in this game even cooler. The poison one and the moon blade are really fun

Wizards tend to use the meteor staff which is dope early game. S scaling in sorcery & boosts gravity magic.

That Katana is ridiculous against squishy opponents.
The gravity magic has higher posture damage on enemies, so you can follow up with a critical. The fact he was so far back makes me think that's not what he was doing as I'm not sure if it works in PvP as well as it does in PvE.
Ive been slowling making progress through Elden Ring in between college (Currently at Nokron). Tried out some PS4 invasions yesterday, had fun for the most part but running into the same weapons over and over gets a bit boring. Thanks for the great content as always Chase!
Tried to make a life steal build with this but it ended up being very difficult. This is simply because even at level 120 the sword only does 300ish damage at +8. Hoping they fix soon.
Try a lifesteal with hand of malenia haha

I was hoping to make a Blood Snake build, have a group of Snakes, blood for Snake Eater, poison and maybe SR for Venom Snake, Solid Snake could be something melee most likely dex, and somethin with naked snake probably. I rambled enough about that though, I'm just hoping if the arcane not scaling is really a bug that they fix it by the time i get around to that. Or maybe i could just hold off till they fix it.
Theres a twinblade version of this, called Elonore's twinblade. You get it from Yura's questline after defeating the invader Elonore.
Has the same blood blade katana on both sides, also and arcane scaling on it.

Chase do you have bloody helice on your ARC build? I didn't see it when you where scrolling through your weapons so you might want to grab it if you are doing ARC.

They have the gravity magic cause is the new Drake Sword, the Meteorite Staff boost gravity magic and there's a gravity spell almost nex to the staff location

Bleed scales off the weapons scaling, I.e dexterity, pump points in dexterity you get bigger bleed.
You can change weapons scaling at the blacksmith if you have found a certain item.

Best way to nerf rivers of blood would be both damage and range or if not those then have it draw health from the user when they use it’s ash of war
Nah, just a slight tweak in range and draw health. It's pretty easy to punish with lots of aow and weapons if your worried about pvp

This game is stupid good. Like...DS3 was my favorite game of all time for 8 years. This game....Jesus Mc Christ....it is better than anyone could imagine. I am 32 hours in because I have alot of stuff going on in my life....but watching Chase....I gotta stop watching him sometimes so I don't spoil myself. So good. This game is beyond what we imagined.
