  • How you can create a video grid or use multiple videos in a single scene in Camtasia, fitting together, creating a split video, splitting the canvas into various areas and having a video clip playing in each one of them. We employ the use of the resize, moving, cropping and animation in Camtasia to have videos play side by side or on a grid, just like in a Zoom call... even with more than 2 videos.
    In this Camtasia tutorial, I give you plenty of tips along the way about the best practices, trips and gotchas, and provide ways to solve potential problems.
    I also demonstrate how you can seamlessly animate videoclips and bring in new videos, resize the existing videos on the canvas, relocate them to make room on the canvas and then take them out again smoothly, using animations.
    Finally, we look at how to make the videos slide in and out of the view without appearing on top of the other ones, using masks and track matte, which is a new function in Camtasia 2020.

      You may already have this. But one Idea could be that you make a video from scratch showing people how to create a video the first time. No details excluded. And then a follow up video, that might even create a series of videos, building up on that very first video with advanced tips and techniques from Camtasia.

    Good training, once again. If you have a problem with stuttering while viewing the animations, try using the red and green playhead handles to mark up a section and then only play that specific piece on the timeline.

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't see why not, as long as you resize and crop them all, align them to a grid, etc. Use proxies for speed of editing. And you can use a grid to help you, I've created a few, here's how they work: th-cam.com/video/TLO2F3nldi4/w-d-xo.html

    Hey Graphicious!! I'm trying to do a "multiple video at once", I'm talking about 30 to 40 screens happening at the same time, with my school band. You think you can help me with that? Can you do a tutorial on how to do it? I'm having problems aligning the videos and adding borders to separate them. Thanks

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Franklyn! I think, also depending on the resolution of your videos, Camtasia will have a HARD time dealing with 40 video streams at once! I've added 30 photos in a slideshow and it was struggling. But in any case, if you want to try, you can decide first on the layout: if it's 30 clips, for example, create a grid of 6 x 5 videos. If it's 40, probably do a 5 x 8 or something like that, so that the grid is even. Then, what I would do is, I would create a GRID to help me with aligning, from straight lines, to create the spaces. Group that grid and put it on the bottom track. You can LOCK it to prevent unwanted changes to it (I actually have a tutorial coming with this exact GRID element). A grid also helps with SNAPPING so that you can properly align the clips. If your clips are WIDER than each container, you can use the ALT Key to CROP the video to fit inside its allocated box. If you are using Camtasia 2021, you could be helped by creating PROXIES from the videos, so they play back faster during editing. When you have aligned everything, go back to your GRID, on the bottom track, unlock it, make the outlines thicker and white or black, and move it at the top. This will provide you with the 'borders' separating the clips. Remember: SAVE OFTEN. It helps if you have the clips on a SSD and plenty of RAM. Finally, export and PRAY! Make sure you have sufficient disk space in your temporary partition. Good luck! I think I will make a video tutorial on this.

    Hi, I used the button audio silence on clip, but now i dont find way for activate the audio one more time. would you help me, please?

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Right click on the clip, select "Edit Audio". Then put your mouse carefully on the BOTTOM of the video clip, I know it's difficult because only one or two pixels trigger this, but when you see the cursor changing to an up-down arrow, click and pull up. That should bring the audio line back in.
      Alternatively, you can right-click on the clip, and select "Add audio point". This will add an audio point somewhere, where the mouse was, but again, at the bottom, you should see only like half of it. Right click it and select 'Remove all audio points'. This should bring back your audio.

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can also just go to the Modify menu, click 'Remove' and then 'All audio points'. This should reset your audio

    Hi again
    At the 2:30 mark you briefly show about the frame-rate and canvas size that may accidentally changed as you import a video with a different frame rate or cavas size……which brings me to my biggest question
    At what frame rate and size should I record my videos in the first place so i don’t have problems reproducing what you show in this video where i might have a clip in 4k and others in just 1080p or HD …..and at what frame rate…
    I really need to understand with what recording settings I should to start my content when shooting with myDrone or Osmo Action Camera???
    I don’t want to end up having to deal with issues like you mentioned where when Import videos to my timeline of say a video that’s going to ask what I want to do…..ie; this will change my canvas or frame rate 🥴🤷‍♂️🙄
    Please help- I am just starting on my new content and want to get things right from the start 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
    HELP 😅
    Cheers Jim

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jim
      Camtasia does quite well with converting the framerate to a 60fps or 30fps and vice-versa. Depends on the video output you want in the end.
      When it comes to recording your screen, I always record at 'maximum 60fps' in the recorder, but that is variable I think, dependent on what happens on the screen.
      Drone video, never needed it but if you record in 60fps, you can always go down or resample the video if you absolutely have to. Not sure if this answers your question. I always like to have the highest quality video to start with and I can always sample down if necessary. Impossible to sample up if you record at lower quality. Makes sense?

    I know this is an olld video, but I'm hoping you still respond to comments. I am wondering why you bother cropping the video in the back. If the second video is sliding in from the right and covering that part of the first video, why bither with the animation to crop the first and work to synchronize the animations?

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I honestly am not sure. Just demonstrating how you can animate that crop on multiple videos simultaneously. There's a high chance that whoever attempts this won't crop and move the videos the same way I do, so demonstrating how you can do it simultaneously is helpful. But yeah, in this particular case, it wasn't necessary to do that crop also.

    • @tedthurgate
      @tedthurgate หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Graphicious great, thanks. I was wondering if it somehow affected file size or something, like it still rendered the covered part of the video or something. Sounds like it doesn't.

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It definitely doesn't. When you render the video, none of the stuff is visible anymore so it won't affect the video size at the end. Only what's visible makes it into the final render.
