    Nice tutorial! Quick Properties Quick Tip: If you go into the Quick Properties Editor for your grid group, you can Link all the lines together and change the color of all of them with one color change (instead of doing each individually).

    I was just thinking about how to do this when I came across your video. Well explained! My OCD had a struggle with alignment, though :-) Looking forward to your new Camtasia videos. I'm sure I'll have watched all ten that there are in the playlist by tonight. You asked for video suggestions. How about a video about creating bar graphs, animated or not. For example, the revenue for a company over the last ten years.

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much! I appreciate the feedback and also the video suggestion. I feel like bar graphs would be something more data-driven, so since Camtasia doesn't actually have any data-ingestion capabilities, it would be something manual to build that, but I'll consider making a video on it! In the meantime, my main Camtasia playlist has 44 videos: th-cam.com/play/PL5dqU8ndfeoiU2qBMM9nqhqQj47XXgLLu.html

    • @esIworld
      @esIworld 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Graphicious 44 videos is great. Till now I find them better than from TechSmith self.
      With bar graphs, I didn't mean converting data from a spreadsheet. For my earlier example, you could have a graph of ten years. Let's say that revenue was higher each year. Then it would be nice to start all bar going up at the same time and each bar stops at the revenue for that year. You could pick 1 million for the first year 2 for the second etc.
      If you go to the website of callouts.com, you can see something like that. They sell templates. I'm thinking, why would it not be possible to create something by yourself. But hey, I'm not the pro so "you do you" I appreciate all your videos.

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I know. What you describe is perfectly doable, and it would be a good idea to do a tutorial. If the person watching the tutorial then wants to implement something like that, they can do their own values, because all the lines would go to different values, so that's what I'm concerned with: making it reusable, in a way. Thanks for the kind words, I get positive feedback from my videos, which encourages me to do more. I'm planning on doing a series of tutorials, easier, shorter, each one focused on one cool effect or animation. I know many of them can be found as templates on various websites, but I believe that learning how to do someone yourself, is better than just taking something already made and moving on. I want to use these tutorials to teach Camtasia 'by doing'.

    I have Camtasia2020, which doesn’t have proxy video, so what I shall do ?

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, you either upgrade to 2021, or maybe you move the videos to a SSD to make them faster to load. Alternatively, you could create downsampled versions of the videos, edit with those (just like with proxies, but manual) and when you are done editing, replace them with the full-resolution ones. It's a little involved and, depending on how many videos you have, it may take a while, but it's workable.

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What do you mean? It depends on how the promo is scripted or planned, what type of clips and how they move. I'm sure it can be done in Camtasia, just need more detail. What part of it is confusing?

      A couple things so far...I'm trying to do this exactly how you did it. I'm loading 12 videos. When you talk about automatically sizing the squares within the grid, you don't say how to do that. All you say is mess around with X and Y. That doesn't automatically make them all the same size.
      I'm also having trouble with the part where you move one track up to the top of the list and rename it "grid". That is not working for me.
      I'm also having trouble with loading the videos into the grid. When I tried to do that, the grid lines disappeared and I had to start over again.
      That's as far as I got before I had to start over. I'll give this one more try.
      Thanks

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, the grid is just the lines you use as guides. You can put them all inside a group (CTRL + G) and then move that group to the topmost track. This allows them to always be visible and you can arrange the videos underneath, on other tracks. If you want not to move the grid accidentally, you can LOCK the track that the grids are on.
      Secondly, there's no 'automatic resizing of the squares'. There is SNAPPING which helps you stick to the grid when you use the crop tool on each video. This makes the edge of the video stick to the grid, so that you can align perfectly. Use the crop tool on a video by holding down the ALT key and dragging the edges.

    • @mgnmxl200
      @mgnmxl200 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Graphicious Please review your video starting at about the 5:28 mark, where you talk about automatically sizing the squares within the grid exactly. Maybe I misunderstood what you said there but it seems you're saying the program will allow the user to make the size of each square the exact same size.
      I'm done with this. Thanks for your help anyway.

    • @Graphicious
      @Graphicious  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I do say the word 'automatically' there. Slip of the tongue. What I meant with 'sizing the grid' I meant that if you want to do it 'exactly' or 'precisely', you should use the text boxes to input numeric values. But Camtasia doesn't 'automatically' fit the video inside those boxes, you have to do that yourself, by using the CROP tool (ALT KEY) or a mask (Media Matte). But both of these work best AFTER you create your grid. Otherwise, you're just 'eyeballing it' as I say in the video. Sorry I confused you there.
