    This video is amazingly helpful. Day 2 of trying to improve my singing voice. I had to play the video twice, flipping almost every attempt. In the beginning, I could not do the octave lip trill by the end of the video I could. Second time around I stopped flipping 1/3 times and slowly became 2/3 or 3/3. I'm not perfectly on key and my recordings sound awful lmao but the improvement is there. I'm so excited

    I'm mainly a guitar player, I've really struggled with singing but I want to feel confident to sing the songs I've written and to sing them well. I've always fallen off notes as I'm singing and trying to strain to get the notes and always failed. After doing these few warm ups I've felt a release of tension in my throat and it feels more relaxed. I can't wait to keep practicing and get better.

    Hello I’d like first to introduce myself to you Matt, and Ramsey Voice Studio.
    My name is David, and I have always enjoyed all types of music throughout my life. I also enjoy singing, and admit that I do not by any stretch of the imagination have what would be commonly known as a “gift.” Just the same I still enjoy singing as a form of expression. It makes me feel fulfilled, and brings joy to my heart. I like to record at home some of my own music simply for the fun of it. I have no aspirations on becoming a professional singer by any means. I am simply a true music lover. Singing, and enjoying others who sing, and express themselves through the art form of Music. It’s in my blood I suppose. My dad was a music teacher back so many years ago in New York City in Bronx community college. As Fate would have it I had no particular interest in learning to play the piano, although my dad was trying to teach me. He often referred to me as having piano fingers. I do not play any instruments as fate would have it now that my father has been long gone. I lost him , and his valuable knowledge of music at the age of 15 while entering high school. I am now simply a novice regarding the art of making music with my voice, and recording utilizing my mix craft virtual home studio, accompanied with garage band on occasion. I am still mastering the art of using these technologies in order to record my own music for my own personal gratification. I do like to write poems ,short stories, and right about things that interest me. I find that expressing myself in writing helps me a bit more and expressing myself musically. To be more precise to have possible topics to create songs about. It truly goes hand-in-hand the writing, accompanied by the putting the mix music, and vocals together. It allows each art form to enhance the others that accompany it. I’ve discovered that it also reveals my strengths, and my limitations. I don’t mind acknowledging my limitations, because by doing so I stand a better chance of improving in those areas that I am lacking. I am fine with that. Thank goodness for this high-tech technology allowing individuals like myself who haven’t the natural talent to play instruments of any kind. This wonderful technology makes it possible for such individuals like myself to utilize pre-recorded loops and simplified ways of utilizing keyboards and creating different rhythms that are pre-recorded to put together something semi-original. I would like to improve my voice as best as I can keeping in mind the reality of my limitations. My belief is nothing ventured is nothing gained. I will be following your wonderful channel, and following your recommended vocal warm-ups, and various techniques as I discover them. If I am able to accomplish a fragment of what you are capable of doing with your voice while exercising, and warming it up during singing I will have made a great accomplishment in my mind, and my heart. I hope that perhaps through the hands of fate you will see my post on your channel, and give me little tidbits on occasion to improve on my very limited vocal skills. Once again I humbly thank you for extending your expertise in this field to so many of us who have zero knowledge of where to begin improving on our vocal skills, or improving on the skills that we do not initially have to begin with. I am hoping to create something from whatever little ability that may lie beneath the surface that only an outsider may take notice to. You mentioned in your
    Lesson in vocal warming on this video regarding mucus on the vocal cords. I do suffer on occasion, and become restricted more than I need to be due to this problem. I haven’t the slightest idea where it comes from, or why it exists in the first place. I also find that happens whenever I am getting ready to record some thing in my limited home recording virtual studio. I get in front of the microphone and my vocal cords become extremely tense, and it also limits my ability to breathe correctly. Any advice that you would be willing to extend to me would be greatly appreciated, or if you could if you haven’t already create a specific tutorial covering this issue, and recommend solutions to correct it. Perhaps it’s my diet, my age, or every day nerves that come to the surface when trying to record. I have no idea which one is the accomplice, or is it a combination of all the above. I know that I am limited, and except that fully. I am hoping that you will somehow come across my post on your Channel, and be gracious enough to extend your expertise to some degree, or direct me to a video that you previously recorded covering some of these issues plaguing me. Thank you once again for your kindness, and your clarity regarding improving one’s vocal ability. Many thanks in advance for your kindness, and possible reply in the future tense to my humble request for an answer to these complex questions. That truly baffled me much of the time. I will never stop loving music. It’s been in my blood since I was a child. Music has always been a safe haven for me. I was placed in a foster home directly after being born, because my mother became paralyzed during my birth from a spinal issue that previously existed. I believe my interest in music developed as a means of coping, and. Being disconnected from my family for the first 3 1/2 years of my life. Without a doubt it has truly sustained me throughout my life, it brings me tremendous peace, and joy. Any kindness you’re willing to extend will be greatly appreciated, or the feedback of those knowledgeable in regards to these issues I am posting about. Should they come across my post while on your channel. I realize that you don’t have to acknowledge my post at all. I genuinely understand, but I will still view your channel, because it’s obvious that you love music, and enjoys sharing your knowledge of music and how to master singing. I consider myself extremely blessed to have come across your channel and look forward to seeing each of your installments throughout the years. Many Blessings, and all The very best that life has to offer to you throughout the future years for your kindness and helping others with your channel for those people who are doing it for the joy of it and those who are looking to make a career in entertaining with their God-given instrument. May each of them find the success in accomplishing their very unique goals in that field. Humbly I thank you once again,, and look forward to understanding how to apply whatever you wish to extend to your viewers. Humbly with the greatest gratitude I thank you Matt. May you and your Family, friends, acquaintances, and all of the followers of your TH-cam channel remain safe during this horrible pandemic that we are now going through . Thanks for bringing something positive during a most difficult turning point in the world today. We all need something to keep us encouraged, and feeling uplifted. To simplify it I appreciate those people like yourself who are kind enough to extend A bit of yourself to others thus keeping us emotionally uplifted, and appreciative of the simple joys rediscovered through something positive for a change of pace. It’s a great relief from all the negative around us today. It’s one wonderful thing to look forward to giving us our second wind. One might say a mini musical magic . That may be Considered fantasy according to some, but not to myself. I truly believe that there are pockets of magic,and bliss to be found at the right time. If it’s presented to you it’s a wonderful Blessing, and shouldn’t be taken for granted, but simply appreciated. Many thanks again Matt for your channel on TH-cam, and your willingness to extend A bit of your kindness to others. A quality that is seldom found in this world today.
    Be well, and God Bless. Respectfully David

    Hi Ramsey, just found you on youtube. I'm singing in a chorus for 9 years now (barbershop). Started as a tenor, then sang lead and I'm a bass now. About 3 years ago mi voice became weaker an there's a lot of vibrato in it. I know I can sing but at this point I'm about to quit because in barbershop no vibrato is allowed.... I'm gonna give it a try training with your warmups and see what will come from that. Do you have a video about getting rid of vibrato?

    I wish you could space out the exercises more to give us time to breath in between and also be clearer when an exercise start, cause right now they appear to start but then you talk instead. It would also be good if each exercise was longer, maybe splitting up guy and girls into two separate videos.

    • @ramseyvoicestudio
      @ramseyvoicestudio  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      the exercises are time stamped in the description so you can go to each exercise and pause it afterward

    But I CAN'T TONGUE/LIP TRILL 😢 what CAN I DO to achieve the similar benefits?? Also, I don't have any range to sing any higher than the first 4 notes in any scale... It hurts my throat to try to push my voice higher.

    EZ way to know how much water you need: Half your weight in oz. Ex. 144lb = 70oz (aka a little over a half gallon)

    Is this a video where I can copy exactly or is this more showing us what different exercises we can do and we do up and down the scale with them?
    Hope that made sense

      Hey Danny, you can copy exactly, but due to time I was only able to show 3 modulations for each key. Check out my course Master Your Voice for the whole deal: ramseyvoice.com/master-your-voice-waiting-page/
