      As a judoka, i can say it's pretty easy.. Because judo has zero striking ability or striking defense 😅 And most clothes aren't as good for gripping as a gi, they'll just rip apart.
      Some of the throws and sweeps work, but it's not easy while getting punched and kicked. On the ground though, joint locks and strangulations are good, & judo is great for building strength (similar to wrestling), so down there the judoka has a chance imo.
      Would be an interesting series for sure!

    Never try to resist to the opponent. When someone pushes you you have to step back; when someone is pulling you out you have to push forward. Never resist but absorb the mecanics forces and always go with your opponant so that you motion will always be the reflection of your opponant's motion. Another point, when the person turns clock wise go in the same direction, and if the person turns unclockwise...follow her, follow until you get ahead of that person.
    This is the principle of absorbing that you will find in fencing, boxing ang wrestling (grappling too which is nothing else but wrestling on the ground).

    Judoka grip strength is nuts. For example, some do a training exercise where they attach a piece of gi to a cable machine, load it with 80kg+ and hold it for 30 seconds. It doesn't sound like much, but it is crazy taxing on the grip. Judoka also need to be able to bench and row their own bodyweight and deadlift double bodyweight as a strength standard for competition. Aurelia is likely very, very strong. Of course she understands angles of balance, leverage, and body mechanics. Put it together and high level judoka and wrestlers (similar skill set) are scary as heck.

    • @Yupppi
      @Yupppi 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's all in the gripping technique, it's not hard squeeze all the time. Once you learn the grip technique it's fairly comfortable to hold if nobody is doing a grip break and snapping pulls. The 1,5x bodyweight in bench, 2x in squat and 2,5x in deadlift applies to pretty much any professional athlete.

      Lmao, the top Muay Thai dudes and boxers ain't lifting 2x bodyweight deads/squats and benching THAT much.
      Nongo O and Taiwanchai was benching around 100 lbs. if you can even find videos of them lifting.
      Joe Frazier, an all time great heavyweight boxer could barely push press 165 lbs.
      Actual muscular strength is more important in grappling arts. Definitely not a must for strikers.

    • @BW022
      @BW022 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I did national level Judo in my teens and did wrestling in junior and high schools (just for strength and conditioning). Weight training really varied between your weight divisions in Judo. If you were under 60kg, you wouldn't want to bulk up as speed was more important and you needed to keep to your weight divisions. By the time you got to the 100kg+ divisions strength really mattered.
      One issue of grip breaking, which you can see, is the more extreme/violent breaks would be a gift to your opponent. If I have a good grip and you do a big elbow move, I'll let let go and during the time your elbow goes flying, I'll grab a grip on the opposite side and throw or sweep while your off-balance. Once an opponent gets a lapel grip, the best way to break the grip is typically to immediately attempt a throw yourself as even if it misses, your on the ground and either in ground work or wait to be stood.

    This video explains most of the “blocks” “forms” and “self defense grabs” that most traditional schools do, but they teach them all as strikes and blocks, rather than what the traditional arts mostly were…. grappling. Also, for the first lapel grab, the move you were looking for, is… the “Arrow Punch”. Grabbing your own lapel was cool but 1) you went inwards and 2) you didn’t use your arm to push away. So you go outward, your free hand is the one that pulls your own lapel and then your same side hand “arrow punches” out to separate the grip :) Great video :) :) :) Her height advantage is aaalot

    Some years ago when British scientists wanted to examine the grip and arm strength of prehistoric women in Europe 5000-10,000. years ago, they worked with excavated arm and hand bones, using well-known and proven standards and practices of physiological archaeology. The living "comparison group" consisted of female judo black belts and female varsity rowers at Oxford University. For more than any other sportswomen, they had the strongest hand-grips, and pulling/pushing power in their arms.
    The conclusion was that as unusually strong as the modern female athletes were in those regards, the "cave women" were even stronger from lifetimes of doing absolutely nothing except with muscle power, and hard work morning, noon, and night. Including after the dawn and spread of agriculture when grinding wheat into flour by hand (tightly gripping a cylinder-like stone and grinding the grain on a flat stone, going back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, every single day) became a task that was only ever done by the women and girls.

    Fantastic. Aurelia Agel is back!
    Could you guys do more judo fighting every so often? It’s fun to watch
    By the way - what’s your weight and her weight? I’m surprised she can throw you quite that easily; I can’t tell if she’s exceptionally strong, you’re very light or it’s technique. It looks like you’re complying and helping her throw you; but if she has a big advantage (skill, experience, strength) then I guess it would still look like that even if you resisted and went 100% strength against her.
    Fun and rare to see a real male vs female judo match. Hope you can film more with her (or she films more on her channel). Would also be fun to see a match or few matches again where you start across from each other bow and then fight like in a real match. Perhaps it would look more real to me? It looks too much like you’re co-operating but I suspect she’s also strong and you’re light so she can manhandle you

I went on to study boxing, wing Chung, kickboxing, military hand to hand combat, karate, and Japanese swordsmanship. My dad was correct Judo is the foundation for all fighting arts. Even in Japanese swordsmanship you have to learn to fall and roll with a sword. On a different topic the American flag is hung backwards in that gym. The union should always be to the left as you look at the flag. It’s a pretty common mistake.

    i did Judo as a child.
    one girl was 2 years older.
    She was like a thunderstorm.
    but: unfairly, she always did not wear a judo suit.
    So she immediately had a better grip on me, wearing one.
    Good sport. Stays in your muscle memory for balance and controlled falling.
    helped later in motorcycle accidents.

    just mike Tyson's philosophical quote.
    punch to throat, liver, solar plexus, kick to groin, kick to knee cap (front, back, or top), strike to back of head/neck, such things should sort someone out who just uses grappling. thats why Thai boxing is closer to a real skirmish in the local pub or street.

    Kevin made the same mistake I did as a BJJ guy training Judo, Judoka leave their back open and in BJJ you automatically try to take the back but if the Judoka has a good grip they'll throw you. Before you go for the back you need to weaken their grip or base out
