This is true! It was our 2nd game, we got a little hung up on remembering the new elements of the game(which was still a struggle), and forgot the core fundamentals!
Interesting Batrep. I am glad you showed the effect of the double turn. I was curious to see it in action. Manifestations are going to get a change for sure!
Incarnation with movement "-" counts as unit in charge phase, so no std units within 3" of it should be able to charge. However std could fight and destroy shackles many times in this battle, including the turn they were set up...
Great game guys! Lots to learn and remember with 4e being recently released but still entertaining!! Dont forget to roll on the Eye of the Gods for each destroyed enemy unit 😎 Keep the AOS batreps coming please!
Endless Spells seem too strong. They don't even have to have strong effects. Just being able to bring them for free, recast them when they die and being able to moveblock enemies and lock them in combat is incredible. You can just spend 1CP, summon one in the enemies turn and just plop them in the way of a charging unit etc.
Imagine what kind of nonsense players are going to come up with.....terrifying. Potentially just soft-locking the game completely with the right setup.
They took away S2Ds saves vs mortals on the Warriors and Knights and only gave the Knights an extra wound. Not really keeping the balance in my opinion but also that they took something pretty iconic feels weird too. I have some hopes for 4th but this bat-rep didn't really make me feel like 4th is doing a good job. I have seen a lot of spearhead and things seem much better there but it's also very few points. I feel like the Underdog bonus isn't enough especially when punishing someone(usually the underdog) for taking the initiative. I have seen that kill a lot of games so far and it's starting to feel like that's the major problem in the overall game atm.
Amazing battle plan video guys, I laughed so hard at the Pokemon trainer jokes! As a side note can I ask where the wound markers and movement trays came from please?

Pretty sure one of the "rule of one" constraints is that a unit can't use more than one command per phase, meaning you can't forward to victory a countercharge
@@jordandevisser iirc it stated a list of things, including the core thing, the command thing, units only being affected once by passives with the same name, and I think some other stuff?
Under 1.2 Using Commands, in the new rules it states that each unit can only use 1 command per phase and the same command can only be used one time per army per phase.
im pretty sure manifestations will change within the first 2 months. Personally think once they die they will be gone for the rest of the game afterwards. cuz right now they are RIDICULOUS. Luka constantly cheating is pretty classic MWG.
CLASSIC CHEATING Luka, so bold of him to try that on camera in front of thousands! 😂 Cheating implies intent, this is definitely more "How the heck do these different manifestions work".
Points pretty much went up across the board. They'll come down as GW tries to balance the game since it's basically just a restart of the existing game
@@kennypalmer8971 i forgot the theridons, so it would be actually 1530 in 3rd. if that is a new 2000 army, that would be a brutal hike. lets see on monday.

It's easier when you only have to reference the health value the moment they've realistically taken enough damage to go down and means you do less maths. Damage = wounds taken added, rather than (first time/unwounded target) health - damage = wounds remaining. If you mean to have all current health values on the battlefield from the start, it's just extra setup and movement time, potentially for units that never get hurt anyway. It also makes it much easier to see how close to fully healed you are and means you won't have to check your max health to make sure you don't go over it. It's not what you're used to, but it's honestly superior in pretty much every way other than "well, other games do it differently", though you can argue using health remaining makes it easier to see how close to death stuff is. As someone who never got used to counting down, I would hate to have to.
It's how it worked in 3rd as well! It makes a little more sense to do it this way with how units take damage if that helps? Counting down wounds I definitely prefer and still works for 4th Ed AoS.
This was not even a game. Either soulblight is so overpowered, or S2D is horrible. Not a good game to post. Are these equal points?? Because thisbwas stupid
1.1 power level, your banish and casts/ prayers use the same pool, unbinds are seperate
you cant reroll counter charge because you cant use two command abilities on the same unit in the same phase
that goes back to 3.0 doesnt it?

The rules of one 👍
Marauders have undivided mark (+1 to wound vs. Hero and monsters).
Nice batrep!

I kind of hope so! I can only imagine what some players are going to come up with.
Great battle report! Interesting, informative, fun banter, well painted armies
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! Much more to come as well.
Thanks for the video, lotta fun. Does anyone know where the movement trays for the skeletons come from? Really like those

Correct, though this was our 2nd game, and the first playing with Manifestations....they can be a little unwieldly in practice!

That was great. Seems kinda crazy with that many spells on the table tho.
That'll be the normal state of the game for the foreseeable future, unless you both agree to not use manifestations, which is absolutely okay!
Where can I get that raised terrain with dead trees on it?

And that way enemy have shorter charge and still can pile-in into unit behind them. You have to leave just one model in combat with charged unit.
Yeah I'm not diggin it tbh, kinda lame. I didn't see one actual spell from a spell lore used the entire game.

The markers we were using come from the Miniwargaming Forge, details in the comments! The movement trays are from 8th Edition 40ks Apocalypse set!

even counted 1920 pts for soulblight. the pts difference is harsh

StD cannot be 2k. It's like less than 1500 pts from third
Games tend to be one sided when one sides gets all its rolls, spells, charges, etc and the other misses all of them 😂
There may have been some pretty wild discrepancies when it came to critical rolls!
