I love Maribel’s dress so much. All the little details and colors and little pompom things. Like. It looks like she or someone else just kept adding little details every once in a while, just for fun, to make it what it is.

Normally when i get an ad for a movie i couldnt care less but this seems like one of those movies i can get invested in. Great character interactions just like moana and zootopia.

I remember watching it for the first time and thinking: Mirabel apparently didn’t have powers, but her real power was controlling the house. When I thought about the movie after watching it I started to figure out that the house functioned according to her emotions. Like it was a sort of an internal conflict within her.
That is why I liked this movie more than Raya and the Last Dragon: it was more depth full.

As a Filipino, I can relate so much with Encanto. The costumes, phrases, way of life and the names are very much similar with my culture. Such a great movie . Saludos hermanos

I was born in Colombia and you are right, l visited Filipinas 2 years ago and l found some cultural similarities. Many People in Colombia think they are unique just because they don't know the world and/or are narrow minded. Besides Manila and Bogota have in common very caothic transport systems for example. I’m hoping Mirabel doesn’t get any powers. I hate when movies have a protagonist that isn’t special, but then halfway through they reveal that they DO have some special power or they get a special power. I think the way this movie sets up is very beautiful, where Mirabel is determined to prove herself to her family, and I hope she can do that without needing anything special.
That’s also going to be super cliché. “Her power was her family!” Barf.
@@HunterDriguez I don’t think they’d go that route. It’ll probably be something like “her power was her perseverance/courage/(insert positive quality here)!” Which, yes, will obviously be corny too, but at least it sends a good message.

Omg, i just watcher Encanto like, minutes ago, it completed my life!
When I first saw this Movie I absolutely loved it! The characters, their personality, and just the movie in general if I had to choose I would say my top three favorites are Camilo, Bruno, and Mirabel. The lore is absolutely amazing and I love how a few of the characters don't have much screen time so you're kinda able to give them their own personality! The detail and time put into each character is just beautiful! Disney has seriously outdone themselves with this movie! I hope there is a second one where we get to see more about the other characters like Camilo and Dolores.

Me encantó esta película, no solo por lo hermosa que es nuestra tierra, me transporta al pasado, aun recuerdo cuando fuimos desplazados por la violencia tristemente en mi país, salir con pocas cosas de nuestra finca e ir al pueblo en busca de un refugio. Pero como muestra en la película hubo un milagro y se hizo una casa con vida propia, lo mismo pasó con nosotros, por eso amo a mis padres que con mucha fuerza y lucha lograron levantar una casa. Gracias a Dios tengo una vida cómoda la cual estoy agradecido 100%.
Gracias Disney por hacernos sentir orgullosos de donde somos, una tierra con muchos colores, variedad de aves, hermosas costumbres, gente bella.
Me pasó igual , llore en esas escenas, me transportó a la vivencia de nuestro desplazamiento.

1. The colorful river that they show us in the movie is a real river, is called Caño Cristales. It is known as the most beautiful river in the world.
2. In Luisa's song, when the second verse begins, Luisa and Mirabel fall into a coffee grinder
3. The plates where Bruno's visions are seen, are emerald. Colombia is the largest exporter of emerald in the world.
4. All the gifts of the family represent something Colombian. Pepa represents the country's varied and rare climate. Camilo the variety of races and ethnic groups of the country. Dolores gossip. Antonio biodiversity. Isabela the flora. Juliet the gastronomy. Luisa the work of the Colombian, could we say (?
5. All the clothes you see in the movie, including hats, are cultural from all over the country. That is why it is disrespectful to us that Disney sells it.
6. Candles represent a lot in our culture, in fact we have a day dedicated to lighting candles. Hence why the candles in the movie.
7.The palma de Cera that is mentioned in Isabela's song, and seen throughout the town, is the national tree of Colombia, and is the largest type of palm in the world.
8. The yellow butterflies represent one of the novels by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, a Colombian literature Nobel Prize winner.
9. Violence in Colombia is a very big issue, which continues to be experienced to this day. In the grandmother's past we can see Forced Displacement. Colombia is the country with the most internally displaced people in the world.

By promoting culture? I'm latina and while I think any movie is beautiful that centers around family and love I really dislike people suggesting that simply because a movie has non-white culture in it it's something to be amazed by. Brave is one of my favorite Disney movies and I cry like a baby watching it but I never heard people talking about how wonderful it was that Scottish culture was being presented. It's almost... cringe....that people want to place non-white cultures on pedestals now. We should all be colorblind and culture blind and just appreciate movies for representing beautiful things such as love, family, courage, etc
