Thanks a lot for talking about sacrifice. Many people can't even imagine how much sacrifice a business needs. How much sacrifice being a musician needs. And if you are independent you run this business alone. That takes a ton. Doing all the socials, all the music, all the planning, the networking, the learning, bla bla bla. And i m not writing this down to cry :D
Hi Damo, it's inspiring to think about what might be possible when I really plan and put in the time. Also really challenging, scary to think about all the hard work needed. Your point about not thinking of the socials as a chore is helpful. Thanks for all your advice :-)
Your videos and advice are genius. I am a local supporter and promoter of local music and have to agree with all you are sharing. Although I am not a musician, your advice is brilliant for what I do as well. Thank you.
@@DamianKeyes I have a pretty new page on FB, called Backstage Chronicles III. I share a lot of your videos on there. I came across your channel about a month ago and only subscribed to yours. Felt it was the most helpful, clear and concise and most informative. You also come off as passionate for what you do and real. Thanks for that. I am indeed staying safe.
Damien i really liked this video and all your other videos . You come up with creative ways to help us growing and small time musicians and we really appreciate it . Im a flight attendant and like writing music and making videos for them . I don’t have a lot of fans but would really love my music to reach more and more people . I just want people around to watch my videos and listen to my songs , its not about making money , I would just love people to hear my music . Would really appreciate if you could help me with this . I know your busy person but whenever you have the time . Thanking you Bjorn
Hi it was good to see how your marketing tips are working as I was in a queue a couple of months ago for the a and r feedback at BBC introducing workshop and overheard a young lad quoting how your marketing strategy got him results!
Thank you Damien! I have subscribed to your channel for about a year now and always walk away with some good food for thought. I am new to social media, have a website, am going to release my 1st song on spotify and have pitched it too ithem. I will set up my fb business page thjs week. Starting with 0 fans and 200 fb friends I'm taking your suggestions about fan interaction
Second video of yours I've watched. I am a singer songwriter. I have done a few arrangements and now to record properly. Your advice is very inspiring!
Two weeks ago I discovered your channel, since then I have learned and applied some of your advice and I am seeing some results. Keep up with the good work!!
this is why i think it is almost better to get rcording contract as even if they take 80 percent then exposure is 500 percent more and as musicians we only worry about making music and playing live
From our innocent perspective it was the way. Now a distant memory when Rec. Co. would take risks and spend but they also burried a lot of talented people also and many big groups saw little money from a major tour, record sales or publishing. I think Damian offers some well thought out and certainly modern perspectives worth a try. Want to Read How could they see anything but the shadows if they were never allowed to move their heads? I do have an example of this for releases in my exclusive community, so if you wanna hop on in there you’ll be able to get access to that as well as lots of other fun stuff 😊😊 www.damiankeyes.com/exclusive-community
Is it worth going through the trouble to get your bad songs (Z sides?) mastered and distributed through a service like cd baby or tunecore? Or just dedicate one platform like youtube to post all those songs on
Carter Brooks You should always Master your work because it’s so easy and cheap to do these days that I can guarantee any descent Artist or Band out there is already doing it. And if you want to be a real contender you have to compete at the same level. I can give some some excellent rates for Mastering, great value for money, I’ll beat any quote you can get out there check me out. www.AkaMicLarry.com
Great content, and as someone who follows your channel, can I ask you to make a video of “How can Artists and Bands support each other.” For example we all have social media sites, would it be helpful to share each other’s work amongst our followers? Would this be pro-active or counter-proactive. My name is @AkaMicLarry on Twitter and Instagram, does anyone here belief we can work together to achieve the same ends?
If Dave Grohl writes something that isn't his best work, it'll probably be the next single. There was a lot of filler on the Foo Fighters last 2 albums.
another great video, really helping my band cheers man
Did he just tell me the eff off!...love it!
I burst out laughing, wasn't expecting that at all

Is there any chance you do a music marketing monthly planner? To show us an example of what exactly we shoud do ?
I do have an example of this for releases in my exclusive community, so if you wanna hop on in there you’ll be able to get access to that as well as lots of other fun stuff 😊😊
