Railways. British Railways Cardiff Canton Depot Past and Passing

This was originally a DVD I produced a few years ago of my diary of Movements around and passing Cardiff Canton depot a favorite spotting place of my childhood and teenage years and most recently in the video age 1993 and onwards.
This will hopefully complement Bob Mastermans' superb Canton MPD insight in 1990 recently uploaded to youtube.

I worked at the depot for 23yrs and used that bridge 100s of times....its gone now supposedly because of a fire well maybe but Pullmans weren't a very good neighbour to the depot and they REALLY didn't like the bridge being there...

The bridge is gone now...They said it was because of a fire making unsafe but ive a suspicion it had more to do with Pullmans always complaining about it being a right of way for the depot

Great video, brings back many memories. Thanks for uploading. The UID 47 at 1:16 looks like 47150 - that was in the original shades of triple grey but in the later RfD style. Cheers Andy

hi mate, that was great watching. you must have had a great time filming all that !. i wish it was still like that near me. down to two roads and just passenger traffic. (no fun at all) enjoyed a lot.
