- Some more of my 8mm video showing the normal activities around Eastleigh station in January 1994 and November 1995 ,the class 33s are hanging on by a thread and the class 58s are starting to make the area their home,amazing how the class 73s are being reborn now in 2015.

I’m now an old guy living in USA but I wanted to thank you for uploading this video. It brings back some great memories of spending many hours on Eastleigh Station watching trains. Really nice to hear the engines on the 33,s and 47s, seems like yesterday. Never realized so many 37s were in Eastleigh as well.. Thanks so much

Hi Edward,yes it made the day,one of the coldest I ever spent on a platform
33115 was a very rare capture. It was used as a test bed and was cut up shortly afterwards
How lucky we are that people such as yourself took the time to film at a time when it was not cheap or easy, then later convert films to digital so they could be uploaded to TH-cam. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for keeping my memories alive. That's a like and a sub from me.

Remember when 33001 was chopped up right next to the main line in 1989? What a waste.

I've watched this video a few times now lol, mostly cos my dad's in it as he was based at Eastleigh for many years!

Those FL 47s were definitely on their last legs. Great variety
Saltley was good for RfD 47s too.😊
A long production Brian, which may affect the viewing numbers as most tend to watch on mobiles and Tablets these days....Excellent content and great work in capturing this great footage from so long ago...regards...Bob
Yes you are right there Bob,it crossed my mind when editing and that took a long time,I could have split into 3 productions, will do in the future,thanks for the tip

I did produce DVDs and sold them through Ian Allan Cardiff,that was 7 years ago,although they were all focussed on South Wales.
But now people like to watch on TH-cam ....times change
